Godzilla isn't a protagonist until Ghidorah the three headed monster so it's only natural that he is temporarily defeated at the end of each film until then

To do a remake of the movie with Godzilla vs King Kong you would have to introduce some reason for Kong's size to grow exponentially and proportionately with his strength because otherwise it would be some B.S. like the old movie. At the same size, you got a classic battle that I think Kong would win as long as Godzilla didn't hit him with the flames. Kong in close quarters would slay GZilla but at a distance, GZilla has the advantage. Kong is much smarter and that would also make a difference.

To the guy who said that Godzilla wins in the jap version of kong vs Godzilla and Kong wins in the American version, you really need to learn ur Godzilla facts before posting. That's only a urban myth...the endings are the same in both versions with kong swimming away. Toho already cleared this myth up years ago their is no alt ending in the Japanese version the end is the same for both America's and Japan's release of the film five or take a few extra mins in the Japanese version.

Godzilla was kicking the crap out of kong throughout the whole movie. the only reason why kong was getting the upperhand in the 3rd round was because he had the power to absorb lightning and use it as strneght. this wasnt even hinted which i consider to be one of the worst deus ex machina ever. the movies great though. Also godzilla had electricity as a weakness early on.

That's because Toho had to spend half the budget or more just getting the right's for King Kong, that's why the graphic's for this movie weren't as good... Godzilla's budget didn't start to get large till he came-back in the mid 1980's threw-out the 1990's. Even then it was only around 9 or 12$ million.

Most of the 60's an 70's films barely went over 2$ or 3$ million

Also Godzilla was not as popular as Kong yet, considering it was big-G's 3rd movie...
