Yes I do realize that a majority of Obama's votes were by black people being racist, and a lot of McCains votes were whites being racist.
And I know that many are racist in America, but you are still being prejudice.
In Europe there is over 700 mil people and only up to 8 mil blacks.
In America there is 300 mil, and over 36 mil, and 36 mil Hispanic.
Just because you rarely deal with it doesn't mean you are racist too.
America is a melting pot, clearly there is going to be some kind of racism.

I honestly will say that most of us are just as racist...I am an african-american teen dude...and I live in a black community, I will never stop crackin racist jokes about blacks. I am actually Nigerian, and me and my friends will make fun of our heritage and blacks, arabians, mexicans, caucausciuns, so to sum it down reallly STFU bout this racist stuff because it happens inside our communities like its nothing.

That is kind of problem-- by saying we don't care about it we're saying that we don't recognize its negative effects on society... right? That is what's so problematic with saying "I'm colorblind" With statements it feels like we're not acknowledging race as a factor in society. @bluinkangel I just discovered this song. And I agree. Its hard to leave this parental instilled beliefs at the door, its hard to judge people on their merits sometimes instead of by their race. I try to drop my assumptions at the door, but it is hard a lot of times. Its not excuse though. Saying, "Oh, thats just how I was raised." Makes me more angry than anything. I was raised that way too asshole, but I'm fighting against it.

Race relations have changed in recent years and become lost in media turmoil. This song reminds me of when it was whites against black. Now its black against blacks. A black man said to me one time. That it was not my color who wouldn't let him forget he was black. It was his. This song is about one powerful woman. All we need is a few more like her to stand up now. And a colorblind society is what we will all enjoy.

I know what you mean. I'm from Lexington and my dad was from Georgetown. My dad and many members of his generation in my family grew up with an awful racial bias that is slowly, but thankfully fading. Nevertheless, there still remains quite a lot of institutionalized racism in the south (and the entire country for that matter). Now it seems the focus has shifted to people from Hispanic and Middle Eastern cultures.

America can't embrace multiculturalism and reject the acknowledgment of race. It can't be patriotic and yet encourage people to take no pride in their ancestry and racial roots.
Racism in the form of discrimination is wrong, but racism itself is human nature. Taking pride in your race is essential to your development as a human being and having a positive outlook on life, just because you Americans are incapable of doing that without hatred for others doesn't mean it's a flawed concept.

You misunderstand the idea behind "Race Traitor". It means rejecting privileges associated with light skin so that the oppressed will no longer be oppressed by the privileged. In America this oppressed/oppressor paradigm is markedly based on skin color, but even so there are exceptions. There are people with light skin who cannot get help because it is assumed they are of the white race, and people with dark skin who are receiving extra help because it is assumed they are of they oppressed.

America CAN embrace multiculturalism and reject race because race is not assigned based on culture. Multiculturalism deals with ethnicity, racism is a blatant excuse to condemn people based on arbitrary physical features. I'm a white rapper, and for some reason, people just freaking love to call me racist. I dunno. I guess cause I call people out without a care for their color. I call 'em when I see them, which is fine here in Memphis... except if the other person is black. Anyways, whenever someone calls me racist I like to respond in an insulted tone "What are you talking about?
