The widows' political statement included a personal attack on Bush. Coulter's point is that once they speak out in the public thought arena: turnabout is fair play. Their personal tragedy doesn't shield them from criticism. These 4 widows (like Cindy Sheehan) have made public attacks, both political & personal. Their personal 9/11 losses aren't some exemption. Hello... That's the whole point of Ann's chapter on liberalism's Doctrine of Infallibility.
Both sides can flame each other for public rhetoric, I don't really think that's the issue, or even an issue at all. I do think she went too far this time. If she wanted to make a point about this DOI she speaks of, she could have done so without suggesting they don't want their husbands back because they make too much money now without them. That's disgusting, and I honestly don't see how anyone can defend that.
Chris - There have been many Leftists in the "pundit" zone that have criticized anybody who dared to offer any counter argument to what these women said on the basis that any disagreement with them was tantamount to having no feelings for their tragic loss. That's what she's talking about.

All these commentators just keep hamming the same question, even after she plainly makes her point. They simply pretend not to understand.
