Does everything have to be turned into a contest? No wonder the world can't get along...it's a tribute not a competition. NY'ers shouldn't feel bad as flash-mobbing isn't an American creation. If anyone in this country needs affirmation that MJ's life/contributions were appreciated here, simply remember how many weeks he was honored in the media and by fans alike. He is/will be missed the world around...some will simply be more creative in expressing their gratitude towards his legacy.

Hey!! I saw that tribute from Stockholm..awesome! While I understand that this NY one wasn't an "official" tribute, as a NYer, its embarrassing. I think what makes it so bad is that he guy has to watch the image on the computer (and still not do the right moves). Who on this planet doesn't know the words (or dance moves) to Thriller? If I was there, I would have done the whole dance and whomever wanted to join in.. join in. :)
