erratic is when an engine hunts up and down ( you hear an increase and immediate decrease in RPM's but this is running sweet!!!!!!

@burghill1979 yeah it was more to do with the strange hiccups it gets after a while. I didn't get much of it on film but it seemed like a injection problem.

nah, steam engines have much bigger cylinders and flywheels. this one is Diesel.

It looks very similar to the engine in a w90 walking dragline, is it from one or somthing similar?

I'd say its very possible, I can;t remember the details of the dragline but there were more like it around. I'm not sure how many are still around today.

yeha, somthing is amiss with it, now and then it hiccups like its lost fuel on all 5.

its done a monsterous amount of work in its life so the inj pump could be on its way out.
