I don't understand why they didn't make Final Fantasy VII just as good in graphocs as they did in Final Fantasy Crisis Core. Its like they downgraded or something. Where are they CGI sutscenes? :(

They are Hi-Res graphics compared to the original unmodded version. The unmodded FF7 PC version plays at 640 x 480. With the current mods that exist you can increase that to whatever the max is for your screen. There's also higher res 3d NPC's, new battle models, new weapon models, hi-res spells and summons.. the list goes on... :D

I don't know much about the mods people make because I'm not this huge computer wiz, and I figured if the game engine could handle that to begin with they would have done it in the original game. So I'm surprised it works at all.
Depending on how much work it takes he should have just considered re-making it based on the original code (if possible of course).

What the fuck is wrong with you people? The pc version is exactly like the PS1 version. The only difference is a better translation in the dialogue. This is a mod for better character graphics. I really don't get how it's not clear. This video is about the graphics. The comments I was responding to were posted by people who were misleading others by telling them that the PC version of this game had the exact graphics of this video. I simply state that the graphics see no improvements over the PS version, apart from some characters having black holes for mouths. The only noteworthy improvement is a better translation. The difference is the field characters are no longer chibi, lego block-ish. They're the battle models.

Yeah, I've picked that up every time I've watched one of these videos, it seems pretty cool but what about the characters who don't HAVE battle models?

As long as i've played with this mod, there have been only like 4 or 5 without battle models, if any at all. Im not positive because i haven't played with this mod in a while

Yeah, because it was dumb for me to assume that some lazy fucker who is just taking the models from the battle screen and applying them to the map screen, with no change in graphics - in even the battle screens themselves; would be too lazy to make their own models. 'It's just so like totally duh, that they would like make new models and stuff for the updates graphics and such!' Why not remake it from scratch then? All of the models and areas anyway? Why not do that?

I don't know much about the mods people make because I'm not this huge computer wiz, and I figured if the game engine could handle that to begin with they would have done it in the original game. So I'm surprised it works at all.
Depending on how much work it takes he should have just considered re-making it based on the original code (if possible of course).

Why is everyone acting like a bitch over the graphics, that doesn't fucking matter. Too bad half you piece of shits never grew up around the 90s games, you would have a much more reminiscing and relative mentality for this game (or everything that was good back in the 90s).

I have to agree, this game is legendary. End of story. They created a game that is amazing to play over and over, fun, AND was at the top of the graphics scale (for their time.) I'm all for patches to make it a little prettier without affecting the game I played as a child :)

What the fuck is wrong with you people? The pc version is exactly like the PS1 version. The only difference is a better translation in the dialogue. This is a mod for better character graphics. When people ask if it's a mod, stop telling them that the PC version automatically looks like this, because you sound like a dumbass. That is directed at everyone on here who can't simply look on the internet for information, and instead chooses to make misleading assumptions.

There still a difference of improvement and bugs/glitches fixed on pc version, but still depends of how is the pc, it will run like shit and get stuck on vista most probably. And I said PC DISC ON PS1. You could play a xbox360 game on PC I didnt say you couldnt. A console port cant be exactly the same and you dont need to be a "smartass" to know that.
And you wherent just talking about the graphics, you mentioned the dialogue translation too.

I really don't get how it's not clear. This video is about the graphics. The comments I was responding to were posted by people who were misleading others by telling them that the PC version of this game had the exact graphics of this video. I simply state that the graphics see no improvements over the PS version, apart from some characters having black holes for mouths. The only noteworthy improvement is a better translation. I am advising people who might purchase the game for the wrong reason

Do you not understand that my original comment was a response to certain people on here who watched the video? They have been telling people that, by default, the graphics in Final Fantasy VII for pc are exactly as they appear in this video. I'm trying to put this as simple as possible, but you seem very persistant in proving me wrong in a conversation you had no part in. They are the same game on both systems.

Are you going to say that Halo for PC is different than Halo for Xbox just because you can't put a pc disc in an Xbox? The game is identical in every way. And when I say that, I mean the content of the game, not the physical appearance of the product that you can hold in your hand. Not the disc format. Not the instruction book, none of it. I mean that by playing this game on Pc you are getting the exact same experience you would have as playing it on the PlayStation.

My comment was simply to reassure the people who have been mislead into thinking that Final Fantasy VII for the PC is some incredible, graphically superior juggernaut of a remake. It is a release in a different format and nothing more. This discussion is over. I really see no point in arguing it any further. If you weren't referring to the video, than you obviously missed the entire point I was making, therefor you have no reason to comment. The people it was directed at originally understood.
