  • great, so when my computer is dropped on to a red spike i can spend 300 pounds or so to retrieve a word document. or i could write it again, nah who would do that?

  • Luckily my Chrome OS is in my VirtualBox.

  • So without internet this notebook is a crap.

  • Ah finally! My computer won't get destroyed by lawn gnomes anymore!

  • fap fap fap fap fap fap

    Oh.

    Nevermind.

  • Man I wish I'd have seen this sooner. I dropped my sink on my laptop earlier.

  • They fail to mention you can do all of these things on a regular PC if you use Google or Microsoft's online services.

  • @y2kblackout Not the quick-boot part of it.

  • @klut1 The fact that a regular laptop takes a few seconds longer is trivial as compared to the time it takes for you to replace your laptop.

  • Google fails to mention that you have to go back to the store and fork over at least $400 each time.

  • @y2kblackout You say this as if it's a criticism of chromebooks; what computer can get hit by toasters, soaked in coffee, and frozen in liquid nitrogen WITHOUT you having to replace it?

  • @laifalbert They make it seem as if it's so fast and easy to get back to work. I'm just pointing out the huge oversight.

  • This is why I can't have nice things...

  • Falling sinks have always been an issue for me

  • when they freeze the computer and break it it looks like an iphone pops out.... hahah so thaaaaats how they make them

  • Can it run hitman

  • How many Chromebooks do you have?

  • 0:40 LOOK AT WHAT IS HAPPENING TO THE COMPUTER INSTEAD OF SHOWING YOUR FACE!

  • Technically, this is advertising cloud computing in general, not the chrome book

  • Lol that was a funny advert.

My ubuntu comes with unity so stuff from my laptop can be stored on a cloud. Plus I can use "files".

  • meanwhile in africa...

  • Congratz, Google, you have destroyed more Chromebooks than you will ever sell.

  • Lmao! I would love to work there!!!!! Google is gonna rule use all soon so why not join them

  • This makes want to work at Google Labs =]

  • I coulda used one of those 25 chromes you guys destroyed!

  • this video in no way makes me want chrome

  • so this advert is basically telling us how weak the chromebook is. ive dropped cup noodles on my mac and it still works

  • what programming languages does it support?

  • RIP 25 Chromebooks

  • Why would I buy this when I can easily buy a more powerful laptop for the same price and simply install Chrome and get all the same features as well as offline mode?

  • How'd they destroy 25 notebooks if they only used 4 in this video?

  • @MichaelTX10 it's a thing called having to retake, maybe they messed up a part and had to redo all of it all over again.

  • I love this video. It's not often that a company willingly destroys their product to show a point.

  • ...but will it blend?

  • Heeey, how come it's suddenly turned off every time it's destroyed o.O

  • @OldSchoolSkill i agree

  • all content is on the web so google can look through it and remove an privacy windows or mac has

  • So my chrome notebook wouldn't survive attacks from gardening gnomes?

  • are those laptops free for end users? i mean, if my chrome notebook breaks, will i get a replacement forever?

  • What a waste of a toaster.

  • No one asked why he doesn't think it's weird that people are grabbing his laptops and trashing them in different ways???

  • These vids are awesome LOL

  • They through away good ice cream!

  • 2:46 well i never there IS a iphone in a chromebook. hahaha

  • I rather buy a normal laptop for the same price ...

  • Makes you wonder why Google have all those contraptions and machines...

  • 2000$ to create a document!

  • Thats what happening when I'm using Google Docs a guy comes in, takes my Notebook destroys it in a inefficent way an brings me a new one! Thats why I wont use Google Docs!

  • Why can't your friend make her own damn flyer for Pete's sake?!

  • Using the stopwatch of my Casio calculator watch and my Samsung Series 5 Chromebook (plugged in) with a 25+ Mbps connection from Shaw Communications. All times start from one New Tab open and end until all flickering and loading completed. I am logged into associated accounts:

    5.46 secs YouTube

    15.5 secs Google News

    14.12 secs Google+

    6.7 secs Facebook

    2.6 secs Google.com

4 secs search of "chromebook" from omnibox

1 sec open New Tab (making two open)

    12.25 secs Gmail

    Google FAILbook

  • hmmmm. (thinks) multiply by... round off by 700$ times 100?

  • Strongest notebook make ever!!!!

  • My brain cried every time they destroyed a perfectly good chromebook...

  • And now my £500 notebook is going to be destroyed and I will simply, Buy another one...

  • OK so now Google knows what you do on the internet, know your emails, know your work and your life. What's next ? "Oh hey guys ! Now give us all your credit card information and passwords so we can remember them for you" ... Oh wait ... They do that already ...

  • the chromebook is a good idea, but it has a major flaw. it takes a COMPUTER and turns it into a BROWSER, the fact that they have a 10 second start up and stores stuff in the cloud is just a gimmick. this will not work, because html applications are not far enough along and as big as google is. they don't have infinite storage for everyone's bullcrap so you'll be stuck carying around a terabyte external hard drive. why would you buy a chromebook when you can run chrome os (a browser) on your pc

  • Its all fun and games UNTIL AN ASTRONAUT BREAKS INTO YOUR ROOM AND DESTROYS YOUR NEW LAPTOP!

  • A computer just for internet, would actually get it if it was under 100 dollars

  • You need 4 chromebooks, just to write single flyer? What a waste...

  • or use google chrome browser?

  • I'd destroy all of them in my house and use them while destroyed and kill myself with eletricuting-powers, and zapping myself with it. I'd also go in my firey Chromebook and burn myself to death. If I own one as a dead guy.

  • commercials have been using that laughtrack since the opening of diddy kong racing for the nintendo 64.

  • This ONLY lets you use the internet?!

  • @yankeegirl2013 Yeah, it all goes in...as everyone calls it today, the cloud, photos, music, videos, documents, apps...that kind of thing...so without internet it's almost useless...

  • @yankeegirl2013, That's basically the point of this device, yes. This sounds like it sucks quite bad, at first. But to be honest, the possibilities of web applications these days is impressing :)

  • this vid made me feel a bit more friendly to the chromebook.

  • Is there a "work offline" option?

  • @DiamondtheSimon Fortunately, yes!

  • @DiamondtheSimon

NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE

  • @DiamondtheSimon Actually, yes.

  • 0:20 google ducks :)

  • This is netbook abuse! How dare they!

  • If we loose the laptop, it's stored online. But what if we loose the Internets? OUR STUFF IS LOST D:

  • @KingZeno000, to be fair, if the Internet would ever fail, I think this will be the lease thing you should worry about. Please realize that about every single (grocery) store, these days, uses the Internet to get their supplies. Even governments rely on the Internet for communication. If the Internet ever goes down, todays human civilization is going to notice it far beyond entertainment and personal files.

On the other hand, the Internet is a huge network, you can't "just" take it down.

  • who destroys their own product like that?!

  • I'l just restore it!

  • what if the video was about how if the keyboard and the screen were all smashed up. and the chromebook still worked

  • @haydencarterthe2nd, that would more or less be an ad for Samsung (as they produce the Chromebooks, together with Acer), not for the advantage of Chrome OS and the 'cloud'. :P

  • great

  • ummmmm what about all my music and movies? are torrents and youtube mp3 rips stored in the cloud so i have to pay for space and hdd storage is not an option WTF!!!!!? what if something is wrong with the hardware? how about free replacements like the vid lol. most stuff can be done in chrome i agree....but theres no way to get around system settings and such.....but aside from that everything is great. chromebooks might be the next macbooks lol

  • @ashtreylil1, I am not quite sure how to save files in the 'cloud'. But you get 7GB of storage just for your e-mails at Google, for free, so I don't think you have to pay extra to store your files :P

  • MacGyver would have been able to use all the trashed computers. Only using the banana split!

  • Well, it showed me that if I buy a Chromebook every 10 seconds a man in a white suit or a little girl will come along and trash it. Surely that is more annoying than slow start up time on a normal computer, that can do everything?

  • But wait... can't you do all that for free if you install google chrome???? O_O

  • It's like watching SAW , But chromebook version.

  • This is so helpful, forever dropping sinks on my laptop :(

  • Such a waste of computers >.>

  • What The Hell Is Wrong With This & U People @ Google

  • so if i wanna create a flyer on a chrome notebook, i will need 4 of these?

  • Sometimes I think Google just decides "We're rich, let's wreck a couple laptops"

  • Now I can throw a sink on my computer and nothing happens lol

  • this is saw for computers!:O

  • if u have so much money to waste , why dont u givaway stuff to people who really needs those ?

  • Was I the only person that flinched? :( My poor laptop is being exposed to laptop death here.

  • if it has imovie I want it

  • I love the way Google is looking for new employees @ 2:23

  • We get the point!

  • And why would a Garden Gnome fall on your Chrome book?

  • I would have happily taken those chromebooks off your hands.

  • remain calm, despite the fact that you no longer have a chromebook.

  • Can i download porn? no Can i watch movies that i download at 1080p? no

Can i use Sony vegas? Google said Hell No

  • @yo20112463neos That`s it´s exactly what i was asking myself while saw the video xD

  • answer to 3-17^v(square root 256+31-30^2):R=856-17^v

  • Doesn't look all that reliable to me.

  • I would still eat the Ice cream

  • Yes or no question, Google: Do you need a Chromebook to make a missing cat flyer in Google Docs?

    No. The answer is no.

  • @idkmybffjv exactly what i was thinking.. the whole time i thought that pretty much all of this is available online from any computer sans the ugly interface.

  • I dropped my sink on my laptop! This is the 5th time :(

  • A few Chromebooks is a negligible investment in their marketing budget, it makes the point about cloud computing and to be honest I thought it was funny.

  • Okay.... Nice little girl aye?

  • why are Americans so wasteful these days?

  • Saw VIII: The Chromebook.

  • google is so rich they waste $12.500

  • 4:14

    Marshmallows over toxic fumes.

    Yum.

  • why is he so willing to let his laptop get stolen idiot

  • FOUND THE CAT!

  • MAN he killed 4 notebooks

cant he just give me one instead of destroying them?

  • Scary Girl

  • @mutchy126 it's the touch-mouse-pad-thing;)

  • Comment removed

  • I started watching Justin Bieber videos and I ended in heree!!! WTF??

  • How the fuck did they think this was good propaganda?

  • @ComputerGuy890100 actually it's the notebook's touchpad with ribbon cable affixed (e.g. cirque glidepoint/synaptic touchpad) an SSD still has a 2.5" drive's dimensions and SATA or miniSATA connectors. :\

  • the idea of creating a flyer in a web based app like that which is more neutered than Microsoft Wordpad, disgusts me. How about we demean your profession eh google? how about we design a web app in MS Paint and tell the world it's that easy? jackasses.

  • tem certeza que a google tem o que fazer com note book?

  • GOD DAMMNIT. LET HIM FINISH THE FUCKING FLYER

  • Oh no I accidentally dropped my notebook into a cauldron of freezing liquid nitrogen, but luckily I have people to take care of that for me.

  • @TheGodOfBlocks And you also have the loyal astronauts who will always bring you a new notebook.

  • EPIC!!!!

  • I wish I had the money to just smash up comuters! Hey, how about next time you only smash 24 and give the extra one to me?

  • Everyone drops a sink on their laptop

  • You guys do realize that these probably were just the frames of the computer. Probably worth 10 dollars each. And they filled it with fake defective parts, most likely

  • where do I download this from?!?!?

  • NOOO! THIS IS TORTURE!! Just kidding heh

  • waste money

  • Chromebooks needs to bring their price down from $500 to $300 to make it popular.

  • "I haven't had this much bad luck in quite a while!"

    FUCK YOU, YOU RICH BASTARD!!!

  • well that was a waist of 4 laptops -.-

#if only i had money like that smh
