K- I'm a guitar player, so I'm biased: and no complaints, when Mike signs, he is great, but how often does the rest of the band get to have the audience fill-in? On the other hand, Ian's not looking so good but man, can he play!!! He should be dressed like a professor: him, Clapton, Page, Eddy, a few I'm missing: Ian should look studious / professorial: vest & tie or some shit, you know - a key to let us mortals know that this is a sign form the gods!! Rockon!! play till ur fingers bleed!
I remember where I was when I first heard this song.....a rainy summers evening driving a bit fast from Ottawa Canada to Renfrew. Heard some Saga songs before and liked them all but never heard this one and loved it as well. Now I love band totally...great stuff!!!
saga perfecta combinacion de lo que tiene que ser un grupo de rock ,voz, guitarra y teclados, bajo y bateristas completos buenos tonos canciones bien compuestas, forever SAGA
The producers of the Hollywood hit movie rejected this song for the movie FlyBoys,...they said the soundtrack was already planned. Too bad, even though this song has absolutley had nothing to too with wwi or wwii flying aces, it would have fullfiled the movie !
I remember my Uncle introduced me to Saga long time ago in the 80s. There music didn't appeal to me initially but once I heard this song on the radio a few days ago, I was like, "That sounds like Saga". Low and behold the Radio DJ mentioned, "That was Saga, I'm The Flyer." If the Internet was prevalent in the 80's, Saga WOULD have been HUGE!
"The Flyer" is the best of, or not? A compliment for SAGA!!

Ian Chrichton - one of the most underrated and unknown "great" guitar players to ever pick up the instrument. A longtime personal favorite.

People will listen to them in a 100 years, as with all great muzic...
SAw the in Gothenburg in 85 or 86...
IC played out of tune really badly the first quarter and the mix was awful, but
the other half was magic...
