  • its great to see some of the old shows does bring back the old days i never missed a show it was fantastic this is one of the best eliminators of all time

  • God , havnt seen this since I was a kid lol. I dean is a family freind aswell. Dunno if he's still in kiddy, ent seen him for years !

  • Memories of toast, baggy jeans, Guns and Roses, and gathering everyone to watch this show. Amazing to think that this is so long ago, and also that the concept of everyone gathering for one show is now such an alien concept.

  • 17 years on, and Phil is still my favourite contender of all time. You could always be guaranteed a class act whenever he was tackling the Eliminator.

And he's an amazing martial artist too :)

  • 17 years on, watching this still raises the hair on my arm. Just brilliant.

  • Phil was class. XD I still remember watching him go up against Shadow on Duel... and Shadow breaking his pugil stick on Phil's head. XD

  • Haha, I have just stumbled across this. I know Deane and he still gets mocked for falling off the beam 15 years on!

  • @staffiesmom seriously lol

  • PHIL RULES :)

dont deny it everybody expected him to be quite shit because of his nerdy persona :)but wow, that shows not to judge on appearences :O :D

  • GladiatorsBoy could u upload Mark Mottram's 59 second eliminator run please

  • By the way, this was a brilliant eliminator. Fast, no nonense. Brilliant contest.

  • I remember Phil. My grandma used to shout at the screen 'get yer hair cut!' :P

  • The worst one with lots of hair was "Tracy" the wannabe stuntman from series 2 (I think) who was an unsufferably self-adoring burke! I think it was Lugwig Ramsey who kicked his ass in the end.

  • if you fall off the beam you have to go back to the line dont you?

  • Phil probably seeing as his eliminator had more obstacles and he finished in 54 seconds

  • If Phil went up against Ludwig Ramsay, who achieved the fastest Elimantor time in the Series 1 Heats (55 seconds), I wonder who would win.

  • cant really say but remember phil did it in 51 sec in the final and almost 48 sec in international glads against 2 scoops before he fell on trav!!

  • I haven't seen the Series 2 final, but another fast Eliminator time was in the Series 5 final when Mark Mottram cleared the course in just 59 seconds.

  • the way theses guys pump the hand bike, this generation of contenders couls learn from this.

  • Phil did it in 54 seconds and Deano in 58 seconds! Not bad considering they both slipped on the beam

  • Phil was a legend! These two were the greatest uk contenders ever in my opinion. This should have been the final rather than the semi final.

  • i watched this and phil was my fav and i cudnt believe it wen he lost to 2 scoops!! i hated 2 scoops.. and i watched it alot and 2 scoops started before the start of the beam before the travelator so he shud get disqualified!

  • Phil won

  • I can't believe this is fifteen years ago..... brings back my childhood Saturdays

  • you dont see the new guys paddling the handbike like that anymore

  • Ah the old eliminator. I quite miss the beginning of this event rather then the swimming bit in the new one.

One thing I think is pointless in the new one is those cotton reel things. You might aswell do a longjump.

    Old eliminator ftw!

  • oo yeh i remember this bastard

  • phil's the best eva!i wish i was him. keep going phil

  • "This wasnt written in the script" ????

  • didn't sum1 fall off the zipline at 1 time? and wasn't it phil?

  • Yeah I remember that! It was Phil...he fell off about halfway down? Still ended up winning I think...

  • phil shit on everyone! just like eunice did 4 the women!

  • Phil is actually his own mum! What a ledge man!

  • deane looks freddie mercury lol

  • SPAG22 the guy who blew a 15sec headstart was Roland Hill from Heat 7

  • legend. phil teaches at my old college (minus the hair).

  • Who was the guy who lost with a 15 second head start?

  • I made that 54 secs

  • I didn't see that one coming Deano was faster on paper

  • Not really because Phil's record is actually 51 seconds! And was on course to be on for 49sec in the international semis in 95 until he slipped on the trav!

  • Yeah i remember that he lost his balance rushing to get on the elimiator ahead of 'Two Scoops' and fell down. I reckon if he had taken a split moment to balance himself he'd have beaten the american ' Two Scoops ' after all he was the only brit quick enough to compete with him and im sure those from US will say he was a worthy opponent

  • Yeah it was unfortunate! But Deane was damn fast and gained 2 seconds there on Phil before the cargo net! I think either Phil or Dean would of beaten two scoops if they didn't make a mistake.

  • Bow to the legend that was Phil!

  • WE LOVE YOU PLASTERFACE

  • phlip has a huge chin
