  • Not hunting?! I see lots of spruce and I'm sure a couple ruffed grouse...they're on Crown land, the kids are wearing their hunter orange with an adult whom i assume is there to supervise as they are not 16 or 18 (depending on prov/federal law)....i don't see how this isn't hunting?! great job MrJWishart.

me and my friends do very similar hunting in similar terrain up here in Northern Ontario while away at university. find a better way to spend a weekend afternoon.. i dare you! good job fellas

  • What I wold of killed it with a fly it was that close

  • @nathan43989 whatever you're attempting to say by that... good for you.

  • I dont like the Remington 870 Express, I like the 870 Wingmaster, which i have in a 20ga and i have a Benelli Supernova in the 12ga but everyone has their own opinions.

  • @APJeux The only difference between the two I a minor glitch in the trigger mech and the bolt and firing pin are somewhat different. I guess the finish is different too..

  • @MrJWishart and the wingmaster is a lot lighter than the express

  • @APJeux It's a half pound lighter. If I were strictly an upland hunter, sure give me the lighter gun. But christ, give me the heaviest gun ya got shootin 3 or 3 1/2 inch steel loads from the duck blind... Not so easy on the shoulder.

  • HATERS you all talk about the same thing. Either your all going PETA, and talking about how its " WRONG " to kill animals lets all go back to the cowboy and indians time period. Did they have grocery stores back then, I didn't think so!!!! Lets think this through, MrJWishart did amazing job on that hunt. 3 birds in one day. I only got 1 last year. And at this time in the hunt, grouse a.k.a. Partridge are smart during this time. So they were in the right place at the right time. Nice Job Guys

  • Quit chirping this fuckin video ya bunch of goofs. It's two young guys out having fun and learning important shit.

  • The hunting of the sleeping Grouse . GOOOOOOOOOOOOD JOOOOOOOB

    btw it's a crap as a video

  • @krhth21 You come hunt these woods bud.. You'll find out pretty damn quick that the birds aren't sleeping. And I can't really understand what you're saying about crap there, so I'll just assume you're talking about yourself?

  • @MrJWishart 15 years old guy ---- GO PLAY COUNTER STRIKE

  • @krhth21 So you're gonna be the dumbass to go against common society and tell me to lock myself in a room and play video games as opposed to enjoy what mother nature has gifted us with? Seriously man, just chill out..

  • @MrJWishart Only a shutgun gifted to you , from a moron !

Nothing to do with hunting and nature.

  • @krhth21 you have no idea what you are talking about, @ all

  • @JWelds191 You wanna know how i know you are a virgin?/?/?

  • @krhth21 What's it matter who here is a virgin and who isn't? Take your immature comments elsewhere bud, no one cares.

  • @MrJWishart I'm shocked. Shocked, I tell you. Mr wishheart

  • I dont think this is a bird hunting. just a massacre on sitting/resting birds. please stop it,,,,if you want to be a hunter try to learn wing shooting while birds are in flight.

  • @rizwantanoli I seriously don't care what you think!.. I did it for those who enjoy it, and give me kind comments. Not for those like you that tell me over and over again that this isn't hunting. It is what it is, you don't like it, I don't care for your comments so take them and your time elsewhere. Thanks though, made my day!

  • @rizwantanoli try finding a partridge for wing shooting dumbass

  • your not supposed to shoot them on the ground

  • @assassinkilla1231 Says who? You? And who are you again?

  • @MrJWishart There's no law against hunting birds on the ground. Keep it up :D

  • on a side note i highly suggest a 22 rifle it will help alot with gathering meat for the table as well as cheap to shoot

  • @nitroexpress700 I would miss half the birds i see if i hunted with a rifle.. brush is too thick and they move quick.. And I dont mind spending 30 cents a shell..

  • @MrJWishart right on bro keep on hnting didnt know you got ammo that cheap there i still use a 22 alot for grouse hunting even in thick brush its a slightly difffernt type of hunt and you have to be a bit faster but its alot fun

  • Comment removed

  • driving around and coving alot of ground down logging roads is a common past time in the usa and canada and i know for shure here in canada gouse hunters across the country do this absoltuly nothing wrong with it there putting meat on the table

  • I have no problem with the kids. It's the adult teaching them this type of hunting practice that causes me concern. This is not a sporting way to take game. It shows no appreciation for the game, the outdoors, or any of our upland hunting traditions. For starters, get out of the truck and HUNT for the birds. This is not hunting. Then, wait until the birds take flight to shoot, giving the bird a fair chance. Finally, don't post this example on the internet. It portrays hunters poorly.

  • @BergBrosGunDogs You come try to hunt grouse in these woods with your fancy ways... good luck. We have a lot of fans that like these videos, and I have put countless pay checks and hours into making them. So you can take your "not posting this example on the internet" idea and shove it right up your arse. Thanks for your imput though..

  • @BergBrosGunDogs why would you wait for the grouse to fly? i've nearly stepped on grouse in the past before they flew away. anything that dumb and tasty deserve to be eaten. and yes they are tasty.

  • @BergBrosGunDogs Hey prick this is NEW BRUNSWICK not the fuckin' prairies where you can hunt fields and run into very little trees. NB is pretty much all woods and if you wait for the bird to flush then your chances of getting it are slim to none. If you dont like it don't fuckin' post anything. Opinions are like arseholes everybody's got em' and they all stink! ;) Great video btw

  • Ground swatting and limb swatting are for rank amateurs. Do you know anything about upland hunting? Get and dog, get out of the truck and actually go hunting. This is a very poor representation of upland bird hunting.

  • @BergBrosGunDogs we were 15 gd years old..... we are amatures.. our second hunting season.. How about you buy me a setter, train it, get it fixed, vacinated.. look after it and I'll come pick it up when I feel like going hunting!? Do you honestly have nothing better to do on christmas than sit here, be a complete arse hole and preach to two 15 year olds? get real buddy.. It is what it is, I'm not doing it to please you.

  • Its nice to see some New Brunswick hunting on youtube! I'm from Westfield, there's some good grouse hunting here but the rabbits are mostly all eaten up by coyotes. :(

  • Im getting my liscence this year :D

  • Canada is the shit

  • @thewildwest1000 You know it man!

  • Do u aim for the head

  • @hammerback141 you bet.

  • man im from blacvkville NB its great huntin around here

  • @KnifeorLife oh i bet man

  • nice headshot at 4:00... what u usin a 12 gauge?

  • @JadMyDad Yeap

  • @MrJWishart little bit big for me... but hey whatever works right? was it all 12? looked like a saw a 20 gauge shell go flyin there at one point

  • awesome, looks like you guys had some fun

  • I love that dad's narrating haha

  • just to let you know 2 things. 1, it's ageist the law to have your firearm loaded on any rode/dirt trail. 2 it's illegal in Canada to shoot Spruce partridge, they are a protected bird. just letting you know. but fun vid. wee have the same shotgun ;)

  • @MegaHowHI you obviously have no idea what your talking about. I can hunt right from the side of the trans canada highway if I want to and I can shoot 6 spruce grouse a day if I want to... I hope your aware that fish and game reglulations do change province to province... they're not the same naton wide?

  • @MrJWishart well i don't know if that's true or not but whatever bro, i couldn't give to fucking shits what you do.

  • @MegaHowHI alright buds.... i hope you get your shit together and know your regulations and laws before you hit the feild..

  • @MrJWishart o i do. i was just saying i never heard of anybody hunting along side the trans canada highway and that not being illegal. firing off your firearm that is! but then again i go in the woods to hunt not along side dirt rods! lol i also don't shoot stupid fucking spruce partridge. lol i was just trying to send you some"friendly advise" but clearly you the little scrawny big tough bird hunter took a great deal offense to it. Grow the fuck up kid.

  • @MrJWishart this guy is a fucking idiot. illegal to shoot a spruce grouse (partridge as you people like to call them) ?!?! LOL

i guess when the game warden pulled me over and I had 5 spruce in the back he was just to lazy to arrest me eh? hahaha wow i love people that try to tell other people how it really is

  • @JWelds191 hahahahaha really eh!? jesus....

  • @MegaHowHI Christ I didn't say I hunt 'long side the TCH! I said I could if I wanted. You dont shoot spruce birds cause it's illegal where you live eh? good one.. Telling me the hunting reglulations where I live isn't giving me "friendly advise".. it's you being a know it all trying to be tough shit.. and its "advice" btw.. im not taking offence to anything bud, I just can't get over your stupidity. Why don't ya go back to grade 4 and pass your spelling test.. and maybe say lol another time FFS.

  • @MegaHowHI dude... sprue grouse are on OUR FUCKING HUNTING LICENSES... we can have 6 grouse total... spruce and ruffed. mixture to equal 6

  • @JadMyDad fuck 6 just take em all

  • @JadMyDad dude if u get caugt wit hmore than 6 a peice ur done. i would take more than 6 if there were in one spot but if they were in different spots theyd get to walk

  • @MegaHowHI you have no clue what you are talking about,i hope you dont own a gun!

  • @xBMURx lol what's wrong cant read? i clearly said at the end "wee have the same shotgun". lol FAIL

  • @MegaHowHI @xBMURx point is, I hope you know your shotgun and firearm regulations a little better than you know fish and game laws..

  • @MrJWishart did you think i was making this shit up, like you said the law changes from province to province. The province were i'm from your not suppose to have your firearm loaded on any dirt rode/trail, how i know because i know a Lands and Forest Ranger and checked my shotgun when i was out hunting. I was told on meany occasions from people that you cant hunt spruce partridge, that i'm not actual sheer about. Your not even supposed to have your gun loaded in a vehicle either!

  • @MegaHowHI listen bud, your not gonna win this one. yeah, like i said laws change from province to province.. so chances are they're not the same where i live and where you live. Why dont you to to your forestry and find out the laws instead of going by what people tell you. And never do we ever carry a loaded firearm in a vehicle.. what makes you think that anyway?!

  • @MrJWishart what a fucking surprise! another god dame message from the 16 year old virgin i'm finished with this. stop fucking messaging me i don't care what your saying, what your doing, how you hunt, what you hunt, what you think the law is, if you think i'm wrong.....i don't CARE. also i'm not your "bud" get that threw your thick skull. stop your fucking winning you little bitch and get over it. i cant believe wee are still talking about this!

  • @MegaHowHI christ ya cared enough about what im sayin to answer 5-6 times.. and I know your not my bud, I'm sayin that to piss ya off.

  • @MegaHowHI Man are you kidding me? you remind me of a game warden... half of em don't even know the damn laws

  • @dav9709 lol well maybe you should tell them!

  • Nice shooting :) I see these by my house a lot wen I dont have my gun but wen I have it that seem to not be here lol

  • A tip for you guys... usually the rule of thumb is, spruce grouse will be in and around spruce trees. Ruffed grouse will be in and around hardwood, berry bushes and especially apple trees. Hope this helps.

  • @MrDarsguitar yeah, I've noticed that. thanks though.

  • Man everybody who says shootin them on the ground is not sportsman like is an idiot. Obviously you havent been grouse hunting before. They are so dumb to start with and they are in such thick cover its hard for them to fly anywhere. p.s i am a way better shot than this kid.

  • @BlackeyedBeast102 what the hell are you taking about? I've obviously been grouse hunting before..... and why are you bragging about yourself, it's not like we missed any birds here?? Grouse can fly through some pretty thick stuff.. any of these times here the birds could have flown...

  • Man everybody who says shootin them on the ground is not sportsman like is an idiot. Obviously you havent been grouse hunting before. They are so dumb to start with and they are in such thick cover its hard for them to fly anywhere.

  • hey where you from im also from new brunswick mabey were close haha

  • @grousehunter123 freddy man.

  • Shooting birds on the ground? There is not sport in that..

  • nice video good shooting

  • When you guys want more sport shot 'em once they fly.

  • Nice video, I'm hunting grouse on the same type of land, makes me even more ready to get up tomorrow mornin' and get out there!

  • @mushrgrl thanks!

  • new Brunswick i love living there

  • hey i live in nb too! was that a 20 gauge you were using??

  • where are ya?

  • @riksullivan everywhere! zone 12,13,15,16,17,18

  • @hansul101 Duck hunting sounds fun. I never had the chance to experiment. It just got back to hunting this year. Got my first bird 10 minutes after the season begun this morning. I understand now why I did get back into the woods!:)

  • i hunt duck and gease its funner i used to go for grouse whe i was 12 now my shots to good :P

  • And the season beging tomorrow here in NB. Cannot wait! Good luck!

  • umm why do you run after every bird you shoot? because if there was another bird around you would scare him off by running.

  • @TheOutdoorspro Umm I think the gun shot would scare any the other birds away..... Or am I stupid? Infact, in this video I shot two grouse, ran after them and then spotted another one within 20 feet of the other two I shot.. Anything else you wanna criticize?

  • @MrJWishart you tell him haha

  • i hate all the hipicrites on youtube, people come onto a huntin vid then start shootin off, like WHY THE HELL DID YOU CLICK THE DAMN VID IN THE FIRST PLACE, ITS ON EVERY HUNTIN VID, and you guys have the only hunting vid i can find on youtube that i can relate to, all the bird are in such heavy cover they wont fly so you end up shootin them on the ground, thats just the way it is, great vid guys.

  • @gunsguitarsandgirls Thanks a lot man! It's pathetic that these grown men are saying some of the things they are.. At least we're enjoying the outdoors and obeying our provincial laws.

  • @gunsguitarsandgirls i hear yea iv shot way more birds on the ground then out of the air an we dont have dogs to tell us were the birds are id love to see those guys come here to N.B an hunt birds with out there dogs an see how many they get lol birds here in N.B dont hang out in fields just sayin haha

  • Be sportsman. Go jump them. Its not any fun to ground pound them. It may be harder but if your good. You kill just as many

  • Our seasons are arriving good luck and in at leaset one vid can you guys attempt to shoot a bird on the fly i will have vids during the course of the season thanks

  • @greatsantini7 i'll try but its not that easy..

  • @MrJWishart yea i know it is not easy i have only shot one grouse on the fly the rest ground swiping

  • @MrJWishart nice shooting reminds me of hunting in northern ontario

  • @Chucknorristothemaxx awesome man, thanks for watching!

  • I've never been hunting yet but I do enjoy blasting my shotgun off at targets. Anyway, what size shot did you use for those tasty birds?

  • @EJL2004 I use 7 1/2.. I have used 4's.. They all work well but 7 1/2 is nice because it does little damage to your breast meat if you make a bad shot and you have a really high pellet count!

  • Nice grouse, Ican't wait for October.

  • @NHJustin Thanks man!! and same haha

  • great hunt guys1

  • Hey MrJWishart ! Best of luck this coming hunting season! Make sure you put up more of your hunts on YouTube. Good work! Don't let the negative comments bother you. This is how we hunt grouse here in the Maritimes. There's nothing wrong with taking grouse on the ground. Wild turkeys are taken on the ground, so what's the difference? This is how we hunt in New Brunswick. End of story. Take care MrJWishart!!

  • @mrjonnypoundcake Thanks a lot buddy you will definintly see a grouse video up this year possibly duck hunting, probably at least 1 deer hunting video (hopefully) and rabbit videos later on. Very excited and James and I both have very big plans for this year first deer license and drivers license so it should be a great year, goodluck im pumped.

  • nice i live in quispamsis i grouse hunt in saint john and other places in nb do you thing a bb gun to the head would kill a grouse

  • @rockdogwalker oh right on! umm, you'd want to be real accurate and probably very close to use a bb gun. It wouldn't be very ethical... but it would do the trick if you were within like 10 feet of a bird. why not just use a shotgun or .22!

  • shoot some clays practice up your shot and let them flush. i dont even call this hunting this is just shooting. its not challenging or even a sport to just shoot them off the ground

  • Great stuff cant wait for this season to start

  • where r u at in new brunswick ? im in woodstock......hard time finding places that havent been shot to shit

  • @Allaby Here were about 3 hours north of Woodstock.. But that was only a weekends of huntin there.. we hunt all over

  • now im site for this hunting seson coming up!! :D and great hunting!

  • I dont think that's hunting. it's more to have fun with the guns, sorry guys. Maybe you have grouses there more than we have here? i dont know? Here in finland it's aint so easy. It takes days to get some and long nights at the fire and the camp. But anyway, nice hunt :)

  • Great video! Thats exactly how you hunt grouse!

  • @JerimiahMMJohnson Thanks brother

  • @MrJWishart In Manitoba I only went once this year and shot 9 I believe,

  • @JerimiahMMJohnson Oh wow! That's a good day! Our limit here is 6 per hunter per day!

  • @MrJWishart Our is 6 per type of grouse per hunter, so you could shoot 6 ruffed and thats your limit plus 6 spruce and its still legal, in my case I shot 6 ruffed and 3 sprucies!

  • @JerimiahMMJohnson Oh, excellent!

  • @MrJWishart Yes so do you use .12 gauge?

  • @JerimiahMMJohnson In this video I used a 20 and my buddy used a 12..

  • @JerimiahMMJohnson Ahhh coool.

  • Great job with the pump action! not many are able to do that. enjoy what you are doing and dont listen to the arm chair athletes on youtube. even other arogant hunters who think this is wrong, this is EXACTLY how you hunt grouse dumb idiots!

  • @wtfhellas Yeah buddy, thanks

  • what part of NB is this? i got one in st martins and one out in hoyt last year, didnt get out much, didnt see much when i did either.

  • @Matty6983 Zone 13 and zone 18 theres birds everywhere. somedays you'll get lucky otherdays you wont see nothin

  • What you guys do is not hunting, although some euphemistically refer to it as "road hunting". You shoot them on the ground with shotguns. Why not be sporting and flush the birds before shooting. A flying grouse is much harder to shoot and gives the bird a sporting chance. If you just want meat for the pot then raise chickens you bastards, or at least use a .22 LR rifle, wasteful bastards! If you want meat for the pot why not raise chickens. In a few years there won't be any grouse left.

  • @Cossworthe it really doesnt matter what you say.... we don't have the country to shoot grouse on the wing nor do we have the dogs this is hunting and how most people do it here. quit being ignorant. and the grouse are going to die whether you shoot them in the air or the ground or with a .22 so i don't see how that changes the grouse population also i dont see how this is wasteful we eat everything we kill. you just have nothing better to do than hate on our video.

  • @Cossworthe i'm not too worried about all the grouse disappearing in a few years considering I only shot 60% of the birds i saw this past fall. I'll shoot a bird in the air if I get the chance, but it doesn't happen often. We're two 15 year old boys enjoying the outdoors. And it's not just about meat, I can get a piece of chicken at the grocery store anytime. If you don't have anything better to do than to call two 15 year old boys "bastards" over a few grouse, what you say means shit to me.

  • @Cossworthe your a fuckin goof, its not around the challenge, its about a tasty meal, and your not gonna wipe them out hunting from the side of the road, theres alotta bush out there dipshit, you prolly never fired a gun in your pussy existance. shoot yourself with a .22 why dont ya, how bout that.

  • @Cossworthe dude your probably like 10 this is how you hunt in canada nothing illegal about it dude

  • Comment removed

  • What kind of gun are you using

  • @xXnina0styleXx Shotgun..... Remington 870, pump action.. there are both 20 ga. and 12 ga. featured here..

  • Great vid, I'm 15 and I hunt in zone 18 in harcourt. Don't let these guys affect you because this is how 95% of maritimers hunt partridge including myself. They need to get a life instead of criticizing people and hiding behind a computer screen. Good hunting. Dave

  • this coming fall will you go again if you do can you shoot some on the fly it'd be cool to see!

  • @greatsantini7 Yeah man for sure

  • well im not a fan of ground swats, but everyone has their own video. And frankly im just glad to see there is still a passion for grouse hunting. Great video!

  • @grouse1mj See, that's great. You dont agree with it but your not going to give me a hard time about it. Appreciate it! Thanks.

  • I didnt say i was a hater, but dont call it hunting. Call it what it is. And so what, you made a video of you shooting grouse on the ground. Wow! thats amazing!

  • @hovey44 You obviously didn't say you we're a hater..Nobody says "hey, I'm a hater" by saying what you did makes you a hater.. And this video of my buddy and I hunting is a hell of a lot better than your videos; considering you don't even have any!

  • I dont care what country you are from, this is not hunting. And its not sporting. Its pathetic. And im a bird hunter!

  • @hovey44 man I love the haters... Consider the fact that we're 15 years old, only hunting for 1-2 years now and we're making a video at the same time.. I honestly don't care about your thoughts if you don't agree with my ways, waste your time elsewhere.

  • This isn't fair chase, and it DAMN sure isn't sporting. You're not a hunter, you're a killer, and there's a huge difference, young man.

  • @GSPKurt I'm sorry you think that. you haters have a long way to go before you change the face of hunting. according to my like-dislike bar on this video your out numbered 3:1 and I bet the number in real life would be closer 8:1. There's no point in offending me, your not going to change my opinion.

  • @MrJWishart \

I don't expect you'll change. People with no respect for their quarry usually don't. Most people near where I live are on welfare and food stamps. Does that make it OK because the majority do it? No, it doesn't. You give the anti-hunters reason to live.

  • @GSPKurt That's not a fair example. They are probably on welfare because it's their only option. There is no way your going to change my opinion on this. There are thousands of Grouse shot here every year and the 21 I took this past season is a small part of that number.

  • weak

  • @johannrecht67 really eh? I'd love to see you put a video of this quality together, upload it on youtube and get over three thousand views on it in under 7 months. And If you could even come close to pulling that much off, then I wouldn't mind you giving your brutal opinion on my hard work.

  • @MrJWishart I was merely commenting on the fact that you drive your vehicle around until you see these poor grouse graveling, and then you shoot them on the ground. This is not "hunting". This is WEAK.

  • @johannrecht67 Considering 90% of New Brunswick people hunt this way I don't see anything wrong with this. If I had a pair of pointers I'd love to run them for a day, unfortunately I don't. And hunting is exactly this.. this is not " wing shooting ", sure, but it is in fact considered hunting. I really don't mind you giving your opinion, just know that it means nothing to me.

  • r yall road hunting

  • @romans276 yes sir, its most effective in that area.

  • @hohohoisgay zone 13. and thanks!

  • when u shoots in partridge an when his flappen around like dey do u got to ring dere necks jus give em alittle ring like a twist

  • @MrHealthcanada We just grab them by the neck until they're done flapping.

  • Nice shooting you fellas sure seem to run into alot of spruce though, what area of nb where you hunting in, there was a few down my way in oromocto but not that many

  • @erik13rocker zone 13, to be honest, I think it's just me that runs into all the spruce ahah no matter where I go I always seem to find the sprucers

  • Comment removed

  • good going nice video

  • @youngbuck1995 Thanks man!

  • nice gun! I wish i had one like that.

  • @Superoutdoorsman103 The 870 is a wicked gun. Perfect for upload huntin.

  • Great action! and nice eye for those birds, good job getting some younger guys out there
