This was a good movie for it's time and is still worth watching. How the crew made it
with the limited resources and obstacles they encountered making it,is a real credit to everyone involved. It's a pity the director didn't go on to make more movies he rightly deserved. But he was up against the fucken left wing government run film industry.
This was on ABC last Saturday I recorded it on my PVR and watched it Sunday had a bit of a laugh and deleted it. I remember watching this as a young fella and loving it, what was I thinking "MAN" LOL.
does anyone have a link to download this, I used to own the original copy but now live in america, if anyone has it please hook us up, it's impossible to find here.
The Aussies had a fairly large contingent in 'nam. As did South Korea, Thailand, The Philippines and a handful of other countries. It wasn't just the USA.
@MickeyLove01 Australia had a large force of regular forces plus a draft in Vietnam. They were pulled out in 1973, i think just over 500 lost their lives serving. I suggest you google Battle of Long Tan sir
@MickeyLove01 Typical arrogant american reply from a cyber coward. Would you come out with such crap if you were not sitting at a computer?-i think not. And you people wonder why most of the world despises you. Just like canadians bristle if someone asks them what part of the states they are from. And while you are talking about wars- you lot haven't turned up on time for a real one yet.
@moatman45 Hardly, we do our part and I know for a fact Australia & NZ do theirs too. I must admit though, I didn't realise there were Australian Vietnam vets. Gotta love Hugh Keays-Bryne though.
@lapalad It's more of a trade thing and of course if you need some extra muscle in the future, etc, etc..., I personally think americans are the dumbest race on earth.
I saw this movie when I was 14. It was rated "16+" and I was afraid they wouldn't let me in. Instead they asked my nephew to show his identity card. He was 2 years older than me but I was taller. When they found out he was actually 16, they let us both in ;-)
@patrout Yer Man Heavy ! Just think of your Kids seeing Nanna & the Grave Digger's ~ They will be popp'n Mono's in no time ! Chin up Man ! Not many can claim to be a "SONS OF ANARCHY" ! :)
Amazing stunt at the end of this trailer. In the book Defying Gravity, the Dale Buggins story, the author quotes Richard Kuiper, the film maker: "Peter Armstrong did the stunt. It was off The Gap (Sydney, NSW). He passed out in the water and was black and blue all over. Its definitely the greatest stunt ever filmed in Australian cinema, and probably one of the best in movie history. Sadly Peter died a few years ago."
@F1dude71 Interesting point about the stunt. I always thought it was Grant Page. He was Australia's leading stunt man at the time, and did do a lot of stunts in the movie. Whilst i don't doubt you, it was probably like the chase scene in Bullitt- about 6 people are credited with that.
@moatman45 Only 3 drivers did the stunts for "bullit"....Steve Mcqueen,Bud Ekins(the mustang)....and Bill Hickman drove the Charger(the bloke with the glasses)
I saw this when it came out. It was a bit rough but I was 17 and I LOVED motorcycles. It looks a bit goofy now but that's what 35 years of hindsight does. Nortons, yeah!
this is a alltime australian classic of all time corny a bit lol love it first saw it i was 5 years old loved it then and all the z 900 z 1000 kawasakis the best
I remember watching this movie by myself in the dark and I was just a kid... I think the decapitation scene at the start put me off sleeping for a week. Good movie though.
Sandy harbutt you're a legend making one of the greatest cult movies of Australia."when you ride a bike. A big bike!"
