  • Durotar...the amount of times I heard this will killing them damn scorpions...

  • man when i was lvl 1 i still remember hearing this tune .now through all the raids and battles ive been through. i decided to come back to where it all began for my tauren warrior and now all i hear is the new cattaclysms shitty virson instead of the peacefull awsome version.

  • i loved that zone

  • I almost cried

  • Good times, my first character was a tauren druid. This music is in Mulgore and I feel so attached to it!

  • @Skydownlow mine to! i that hate cata changed all the music.

  • @Skydownlow i feel your pain this was the mulgore tune but since cata its diffrent so annoying it ruins that first impressio

  • Oh my ... the memories. I remember setting the alarm clock a little earlier just to level my Paladin in westfall during the morning. Me, this music, breakfast and a lot of goretusk boars with their elusive livers. That was 5 years ago and I was a wee lass, now I'm 17. <3

  • 2:53 is just magical and brings back so many memories :'(

  • @CrazyCatFtw Absolutely spot on.

  • I love Cataclysm so so much, but damn does this bring back good memories :)

  • well this music is just as ancient as the shimmering flats now... its underwater and for some reason has a big fucking whale in it.

    god damn i miss vanilla.

  • 2:53-4:08 brings me childhood memories.

  • All I can say is Mulgore, man I love that place so much :( Rerolling alliance and flying over/past this zone makes me feel a little sad and even homesick

  • So many memories. This reminds me of the first time I went to Kalimdor in 2005, pre BC. I went with a friend, we both had a quest to go to Tanaris. We had to run through the Barrens, some place south of it which I forget now and Shimmering Flats.

The entire way felt like we were behind enemy lines. It was scary. We thought at any moment the ENTIRE horde were going to come thundering down on us, pissed that we were in their land.

They never did, but that's what it felt like would happen.

  • I played this theme in my mp3 player as I was climbing the dry mountains in Australia once. I swear it was the most fitting theme ever.

  • I can't believe that they replaced this music in Mulgore and Durotar! it's criminal I tell you!

  • @goozieFALK lol wtf.. have u ever been to Durotar and Barrens b4 Cata? Its the best thing in wow

  • @goozieFALK this is Durotar and old barrens music fuck westfall

  • @vjehshta Westfall was awesome back in the day. If anything, this song belongs to Mulgore :P

  • Blizzard has made some of the best video game music ever created. They do such a great job with the soundtracks not just in Warcraft but in Starcraft and Diablo too.

  • @whiteboie79 i was about to say that !

  • ZzzzZZ fell asleep while leveling skinning and I wake up to have a basilisk and a roc attacking me. It's all this song's fault too.

  • Back in vanilla this was blurring through my head 24/7

  • THE MOST EPIC SUONDTRACKEVER AHH SO MUCH GOOD TIMES

I remember making my Troll Mage being level 2-9 walking aroudn Valley of Trials not knowing whats going on then ofc going to the barrens with a friend i met both lvl 10's and i told him im going to northrend hahaha good times of being a noob GOOOD TIMES!! this soundtrack is what its all about

  • By far the best song in the soundtrack <3

  • NOW I HAVE BREAK BUT IN A WEEK OR 2 I WILL PAY THIS GAME

  • I miss actually being allowed to play this game... Nowadays it's just secret trial accounts and making a new character every 10 days... *sigh*

  • i think i have heard the end of the song in a movie it starts at 3:15 but i cant remeber what movie some one who can help me

  • @VenomDarkLord you think too much :D there's no movie that deserves THAT MUSIC !

  • Reminds me of those times where I'd stay up well into the night with my best friend playing WoW and trying to complete our quests, all the while remaining vigilant for any players of the enemy faction that might ride our way.

I don't play anymore, but I will say your first time playing WoW is a very unique experience. I have yet to find another game that recreates it just right.

  • My first ever char was a tauren druid and this song brings back memories of being new to the game <3

  • Brings back alot :) I swear though the first time you play WoW it feels like a dream it was the greatest feeling in the world. WoW is still an awesome game though :) It still has a great feeling.

  • this was the song that welcomed me to the world of warcraft...i haven't regret it yet.

Well, shimmering flats, the cataclysm hit you really badly...RIP i guess...cmon, nobody came around leveling there if you think about it

  • This music always reminds me of Westfall.

  • 1:00 sounds like "shes got me spiiiinningggg" from my humps :p

  • @Johnnyciggs hahahaha how did u ever managed to hear that out of it XD but its so true

  • Duel? Meet at Durotar

  • damn all these years off playing i will never get the same feeling from when you first played wow, but the feeling you have now is still awesome, well done blizzard you made one off the best games ever! Maybe the BEST!

  • i haven't played wow for 3 years, when i was in high school....but this song and Tanaris' song brought so much nostalgia the last couple of months that i started playing wow again 2 days ago!!!!

  • I am crying ...my chillhood :(

  • I killed so many damn scorpions and crocs with this song in the background...

  • @RemoKinga Don't forget the tortoises...

  • Thousand Needles is gonna under water :( That dwarf corpse near the lift is gonna be a fossil.

  • Gives me a big old nostalgic hardon

  • Reminds me of that one Paladin in Stormwind standing proud in Judgement Battlegear, and all of the level 42 noobs were like : omfg! wear deedu get thawt armor?!?1. also, pre-bc ftw =)

  • I don't know why.. but this song gives me spine-shivering memories of the good old days. I miss Pre-BC.

  • @Johnnyciggs Me too. My first run through of leveling was the most fun I've had in WoW. Exploring all these original zones for the first time, each one unique and surprising was special...

  • WOW is simply the best videogame ever. being part of an imaginary world along with real people. it's the best virtual experience anyone can have.

i miss playing it so much. and this particular theme reminds me of those great times i had in Azeroth. :(

  • Besides nostalgia, always it makes me think about war and loneliness.

  • Very Relaxing!

  • such a sad music mostly between 3:14 - 3:30

  • Ugh reminds me of low lvl grinding.... Makes me wanna puke :P miss this game so much :'(

  • hey, haven't played the game in a while so excuse me if I'm being ignorant, but is this played in Westfall? I'm like positive it is but I sorta wanna make sure. (LOVE WESTFALL!!!)

And, just wondering, but does anyone know what music is played in the Redridge Mountains?

  • @Ladeebug59

Yes mate, it's from Westfall but it plays in other areas as well. Durotar, Mulgore and Thousand Needles (where it got it's name from the subzone Shimmering Flats).

  • yup the best days of wow were the 1st 30 levels in the stormwind area as a human... after that the rest of the game just got too repetitive... grrrrrrrrr

  • @lostinthehair stupid alliance

  • ey... the alliance seemed like fun when i first started playing

but later on you come to realize: the alliance=a bunch of little twats who do a lot of stupid shit

the horde=a bunch of fat assholes who rape the little twats

  • lvl 5 on first day of game back in the beginning of 2005, oh I am sick of this forest, some sunshine over there. ganked by ugly lvl 11 young fleashripper. OH those were the best days of WoW!!! My time with it finished several months ago too after almost 5 years.

  • 1 tank and 1 dps and go deadmines

  • 2:04 always reminds of good times playing WoW.

My time with this game's done, but I miss the old noobie days I had playing this 4 or 5 years ago.

  • this music reminds me of those night were it was like 12:00 midnight and i was cold but i wanted to keep playing and if i was in a cold feeling area in WoW i would go to stormwind to make me feel warm like, i could never quest at night, i always ended up chatting with friends. Who else has had that situation?

  • @R3MWAK3R776

    haha i did

  • @R3MWAK3R776 yes ! ! ! YES YES ! IN MY ENTIRE LIFE i said that ! !

when i think of morning i think of wow when i think of noon i think of wow when i think of night .....it doesn't drags me into wow that way it drags me into it for chatting with some nice people there and maybe going to instance or attacking a capital ! i REMEBER ! i was 49 level and i joined a group for attacking Darnassus i died instantly but i kept trying to be useful ! FOR THE HORDEE ! or ... FOR CLASSIC WOW !

  • Oh, my first days in the Horde, Durotar, Mulgore and the Thousand Needless...

  • Hell yeah mate..

  • seanthamaster: play another character, try different races and classes.. pretty awesome!

  • FOR THE HOOORDE!!

  • [General] Need tank for VC

  • oh my god - so true

  • I miss the old days. I remember i was an orc warlock, new to the game this was the first music i heard, made me think, wow, picture me 59 levels from now. I miss old WoW, i never expirienced the 60 raiding but i still remember how exciting it used to be. now, with 2 lvl 80s, got kind of old for me. wish i still got that feeling i used to have

  • I am defintley with you man.i cant get the good, weird feeling anymore. I know it sucks

  • Holy crap dude, same here. :)

  • Shimmering Flats, Durotar, Mulgore, and Westfall. All the same music, but still wonderful.

  • Its the same music as in Mulgore and Durotar.

  • Ahhhh I love this song each time I hear a drum I can picture a orc as clear as day, blizzard did a great job on this track ;)

  • Yeah same here very ncie music isn't it?

  • i love this its so chillled

  • In the 1800's if you wanted to travel across America, you would have to take horses and wagons, and it would be a real adventure full of perils, hardships, and novelties. Now, in the 21st century, you can take a car from one side to the other in a day or two easily. All of the unique adventures, hardships, and triumphs of the past are irrelevant and forgotten. The same is the difference between Pre-BC's and WOTLK's Kalimdor and Azeroth. It's a very different experience.

  • Yes, the past is what I love about warcraft. I would like to live in Azeroth, if there was one. Preferably Westfall because I love the farm.

  • hell ye, id live in westfall and earn a living skinning pigs and making leather armour for up and coming adventurers

  • @Ashesofour when for your first time you start WoW you have that feeling that the world is endless id do anything to get that feeling back

  • @spenore I know exactly what you mean. Zooming out and seeing the massive world, realizing that it's all there for me to explore...

    I miss Vanilla.

  • @Ashesofour Amen!

  • @Ashesofour

I will take my fast car ride over dying from dysentery any day grandpa

  • @Ashesofour that's astonishingly insightful, perfectly sums it up actually.

  • @Ashesofour I don't get it. =/

WOTLK only introduced Northrend and new raids and dungeons right?

Cata added more flight paths, flying mounts and everything.

  • @Ashesofour This sums up exactly, precisely why I quit WoW.

I'll bet if you brought someone to the future from the 1800's now (impossible and a silly idea, I know) they would experience a very short lived fascination by all the new shit we have now and very shortly begin to feel like they do not belong and want to go back.

I wish I could go back. Not to the 1800's, just to 2004 so I could re-play a game so great that I spent more time in its world than in the real one.

  • @Aethelhald Can't agree more with you :D

  • @Aethelhald You have nailed it. The modern convenience culture of the game, the menu's, automated grouping, easy travel, virtual drop in pvp, even battlegrounds in general, the automated arena system, all is responsible for killing the feeling we all had when WoW was young, the feeling of escape from the real world into a believable virtual world.

Yes there were hardships and much toil, but the rewards was satisfaction rather than the reward of the game today, i.e items

  • @Ashesofour

Could not have put it better myself. I remember not having enough coin once and I had to run from XR to Gadgetzan by foot. No buffs or speed increases, just me and this music for a good half an hour. I got ganked twice and ganked once.. but it made the journey that much more memorable. I can remember that incident like it was yesterday and that was over five years ago.

  • isnt that durator ?

  • No not Barrens.. Barrens has its own musics. This one is labeled "Plains" in the game folder which is the same as Mulgore, Westfall etc.

  • it's the music in durotar

  • Relaxes me, and brings great feelings back. Nostalgic times. Well done by uploading these!

  • @Urbainken the start of the track reminds me of the first time i entered westfall at night on my main character back in october 2005.

  • This is westfall musiks

  • "Rebuilt Jedi Enclave" from KOTOR 2 is similar in few moments :P.

  • dude change yur picture hehe music roks

  • sounds like barrens
