  • sometimes I only get the 2 tone on my comcast cable

  • 0:17

  • @101201jeff

    wow i know :)

  • @supercell1995 The EAS sometimes creeps me out.

  • I might sentence mix this video. I might make the EAS say "Get ready to die"

  • I heard beeping last night..... RWT

  • LMAO! 0:15, I see you in the TV Hahaha

  • I live in Spokane Washington, we don't really get these too much.

  • i had that yesterday

  • im from america and dude where i live there was a guy who killed his wife and took his kid with him and when i heard the eas (Emergency Alert System) i started freaking out and i wanted to get all the pets inside. it was scary

  • I have DirecTV HD and they bundle EAS alerts as part of DirecTV Active ... It would be kinda cool if we had a feed like that because I have my DirecTV box running into my computer so I can record that kind of stuff. With this setup, I have to monitor the radio or go to weather.gov, unfortunately

  • really cool.

  • I'm not from America and we don't have these here. What I don't understand is how it can come up as a Severe Thunderstorm Warning on screen, before the 3 audio data bursts have played, as I thought the type of warning was encoded in these? Or is the data/tone broadcast with a delay? In which case why broadcast the sounds that aren't part of the message?

  • Not sure what you're asking, are you wondering about the red scroll on the bottom of the weather channel? If so, thats displayed for customers who don't have cable on their television. In my case, I have cable, and EAS messeges are issued shortly after the warning itself. EAS is just another way of displaying the warning.

  • @supercell1995 I think what he meant is that the EAS on screen knew that it was a severe thunderstorm before the 3 data bursts said it was. The three buzzes at the beginning contain what type of warning it is and usually devices know what the warning is from those. But Comcast's EAS knew what it was before those bursts.

  • And also, not every county in the United States have EAS messages that send warnings on TV's. It depends on location, so I guess that is what the red scroll is for.

  • @polygonvgc it depends how severe

  • Buizel22 (morg) thinks EAS is bad stuff.

    I think it is awesome.

  • Since you live in my state, were you around to see or hear if there was an EAS message distributed on Saturday, October 17th at some time around 10:00AM?

  • No there wasn't, the storm wasn't severe, although I think a special weather statement was issued for it. Same for a thunderstorm south of Tacoma, WA around the same time.

Just to let you know, all thats on my television is weatherscan, so when there are warnings, I know! LOL :)

  • Well I have so many other channels on my Comcast, but I only use one. My parents use the other channels. Since I'm into weather and all...

  • Oh btw, did you see my new videos?

  • Damn... lol. Before people bitched to the NWS Office in Moon Township... we averaged about 3 STW EAS Activations every night we get bad weather in the summer. Now it's only when we have flash floods, Tornadoes, or anything that can be considered an immediate threat.

  • i hate coos bay we didnt get shit durring that outbreak, and im obsesed with 2 things, Severe t storms, and growing my medicine

  • Same story with me only without the medicine! I heard Coos Bay is just clear all the time, with an occasional cloud or haze. The NWS in Medford never issues any warnings for your area, ive noticed that.

  • during the early june event we had one issued for coos county and it expired before it hit coos bay. by the time it got here it was weak. I hope we get at least one more closed low this summer...

  • Hey, this was uploaded on my birthday, YAY!!!

  • @yoshimitsu483 I was born June 9th, too!

  • @mackywacky00 you have to be kiddin right?

  • @Yoshimitsu483 June 9th, 2000 is when I was born!

  • @mackywacky00 ohh i was born June 9th, 1996

  • hey nice video yea that was a crazy day they were all over the place i think ? some odd stuff has been going on i think??

  • That was June 4th, when the line of storms hit entire Willamette Valley. I was simply too busy tracking those storms to post a video of a warning then. I just don't know when we will ever see anything like that again!

  • dude i hated storm last week i live in oregon too in keizer there was a funnel cloud right over us

  • I loved the storm personally. If I had a power outage I probably wouldn't have liked it, but the storm otherwise wreaked of awesomeness! We haven't had a storm like this in ages

  • i guess i have to agree with that my power did not go out but i was stuck in my house for an hour

  • again the storm was bad there was like 2 severe storms these things always interupt my show we had a storm like last summer around 10:00 somewere between june and july

  • When storms develop the only show I watch is the Weather Channel lol

  • lol i do too mostly during severe thunderstorms

  • I can't believe I missed it...

  • They wont stop coming lol. I wonder what july and august will be like.

  • This is sweet!

  • Yay, another warning was issued at 5:24 pm!
