The most funny guy in Germany might be Helge Schneider. There are plenty of videos on youtube, but I think you can hardly laugh about him if you are not a native german speaker.

Than we have Switch reloaded, a tv show were comedians make fun of advertisement and tv.

And some comedians are Cindy aus Marzahn, Bülent Ceylan, Atze Schröder, Anke Engelke, Mario Barth.

A entertainment show with comedy is TV Total.

@drfred26 The comedic aspects aren't so much in the words (which sound just awefully silly in German), but in the seriousness, by which people handle even the silliest tasks. (very German, watch our political debates, kinda comedy too) Plus: This skit is incomplete - there's an interview with the husband of the woman afterwards, in which he repeats word by word her explanation, why it is best for an emancipated woman to have a yodel diploma. Time- and society-related fun, of course. =)

They cut off the best part and the whole reason this sketch is so funny.....They go out on the street and interview her husband, he says exactly what she says word for word. It's as if her whole persepctive about being independent is just her rehashing her husbands words and she is not independent at all. They totally flip the script!!! I love Loriot!

No it's not. 'Dödel' could mean 'dick', or could refer also to a 'dumb person'. But in this comedy piece it's a phonetic element without deeper meaning. This is 70's TV and there is certainly no references to 'dick' at that time.

Ich mag Loriot, aber dieses Video ist verfehlt. Denn Es gibt tatsächlich solche Jodelschulen, und es kommt beim Lernen wirklich auf jede genaue Silbe an! Es ist bei jeder Musik so. Denn wie soll man sonst verläßlich gemeinsam musizieren? Auch die Berliner Philharmoniker müssen regelmäßig systematisch üben.

Well, I lived for six years in the US, actually in Wisconsin, and sometimes you hear such amazing things about a German that you cannot get it, if it is a serious statement or not. So, according to media, many Americans believe that most Germans do "yodel" (and there ARE actually schools for yodeling because it IS an art) and are wearing leather pants. Anyway, if anyone would understand that it IS satire then I am reassured,
