  • i have the boxer c:

  • cute! ill hav to check into the show :D

  • I still have the gray one!

  • My nephew now owns the Pound Puppy that I had as a kid, which is a Beagle, and it's one of the very few things that survived my very active childhood. I also watched the cartoon series, and had one of the books, but it wasn't either of the ones you showed, and the title escapes me at the moment.

  • Remember watching the series, but never was lucky enought o buy the toy.

Thank you for the trip down memory lane.

And thank you for respecting these older things and not doing as others our age are doing, which is to ridicule and put down old things to appear "cool" and "hip" to younger audiences.

  • any chance of a tmnt action figure collection,if you do have them that is... you do a really good job!

  • Wow, I had nearly forgotten about those. I had that small one in your video and the first book you showed. I have no idea where they are now.

  • Awesome review starring your new dog at the stat, love it :)

  • awwwwwwwwwwwwww your dog is awesome!

  • actually, his name is cooler. howller is the one with the yellow afro looking hair and a hat.

  • I remember pound puppies, I still own 2 of them and 1 of the cats.

  • Wow, I learned something new from this video. I got a pound puppy piggy bank of the dog crying at 4:04. I never even knew that it was from the Pound Puppy series.

I have had that piggy bank since before I can even remember.

  • I remember

burger king having miniature versions of these things

  • Word up, Buster! Props, John!

  • In Britain I think Hornby,a company which is better known for their electric, scale model trains, had the licence to produce/distribute these toys in the 80s.I also remember there was a big following for them here, especially amongst girls in my school.

  • i still have 2 or 3 small pound puppies and 1 of the cats and i have a pound puppy cassette tape where they sing

  • I also had many of the plushes like you were showing and I remember the carrying cases. I think I had almost a dozen different Pound Puppies. I remember the first I ever got was a big gray one.

  • OMG! I loved Pound Puppies as a kid. They actually had two different series from what I remember. The leader of them as you were talking about was Cooler. There was also Whooper, a puppy that loved to make up wild stories. Howler was the one with the hat. The two main female dogs were Bright-eyes and Nose Marie. I believe those were all the main dogs.

  • John, you are a Youtube Legend, a really nice guy!!

  • @iwanabbilly Hey thanks! =)

  • We used to call them "anus mouths" at school.

  • @feckingbillgates LOL nice.

  • Buster is awesome! :D

  • and now they have a new pound puppies show

    on the hub

not as good as the old one but ok

  • Man my mom has 3 pound puppies :D!

  • omg i remember those little golden books...i had a huge set of the disney ones i think

  • I still have a pound puppy the same one you got on the far left mine isnt as white as yours but its close

  • can you do a review of your new dog?

  • Do pound puppies only cost A pound?Hahahaha oh that was aweful

  • Oh, I still have a Pound Puppies lunch tray, too. Ya know, that could really come in handy these days. I should use it. LOL

  • Yes, I still have mine and I had the "Pick of the Litter" Golden Book though it's long gone now. I have two large ones and four small ones, one of those being from Hardee's, and one small Pound Purrie.

  • way better than pillow pets,

    just saying

  • I didn't really like these when they came out

  • Can't forget the Pound Purries.

  • The term "Pound Puppies" sounds less like a name and more like a command to me.

  • The little one on the left, I my sister had and was for sure a pound puppy.

  • I don't know if it was a pound puppy, but I remember having a stuffed dog that looked just like the big brown one on the right. It had a little squeaker inserted in it's belly..... does that one squeak???

  • That brown Pound Puppy looks so realistic. It moves and blinks and everything!

  • I had so many Pound Puppies! I remember getting a large pound puppy mother, and then I got lots of little baby puppies to go with her. Later on, they released some that are the size of my pinky finger ;p

Oh, and the leader dog is named Cooler :)

    Love your 80s reviews! :D

  • Yeah these where pretty awesome! I only had one, very simular to the little brown one.

  • My grandma had one that made noise if you walked past it.. It stayed in the guest bedroom. randomly in the night it would start making nois and scare the crap outta me...

  • i remember those....omg im taken back to the day.....hahahahah..your dog is so cute...buster is
