  • Im in training to be a Registered massage therapist/T.C.M acupuncturist/Yoga Hatha teacher and Reiki Master. Thanks for explaining postural kyphosis it amazing how we can integrate sciences and arts and become one so beautifully. Thank you :)

  • Before I had kyposis I use to have energy and be more active, I could lift heavy objects, do hard work ect. Now I have kyposis i'm tired cant chop wood as easily, i'm 16 and my dad teases me and calls me old man :(

  • This is a nice video, BUT NOT for people with scheuermann's disease, (structural kyphosis).

You can get severe sciatica from trying to force stretches done in this video.

  • I got kyphosis too which I unfortunately inherited from my mom. Although I work out since I was a kid, kyphosis has given such hard time since it literally affects my everyday life. Is there any ways/exercises that I can do in order to decrease the kyphosis???

  • who do you go if you want them examine your muscles, posture and back?

I suffer from upper back pain, my upper traps is always tight and it hurts, headaches too.... they did an mri and it came out normal so I am sure it must be the muscles and my excessive computer use.

  • Hey! not all big people are "lazy bastards' not cool..

  • I'm 6' and 13 and I have kyphosis.

  • What does the research say about being able to get a bit of proper spinal shape back with the right physical therapy if you have thoracic kyphosis?

  • 2:15 - "I'm not talking about the lazy bastards" <- ROOOOOOOOFL.

  • Thanks a ton. This is the first time I've ever got any kind of advice from a professional on spinal conditions. So it's helpful you replied.

  • I don't know if its helping my kyphosis any. But I do feel I have a better and more mobile back after doing the stretches. A few of them I cant do as well as you simply because my posture isn't as straight.

  • Feeling new mobility is the beginning and simply keep up with the stretches and throughout the process pretend that each time you practice them it's as if it's the first time doing them so that you develop greater awareness of what's going on with your body and your mind. With each practice, see if you can figure out a way to improve your alignment in a manner that creates more balance rather than more effort and struggle.

  • @KoeseMan Yes man, I've been doing these types of exercises and stretches for years. Some a lot like these and different ones with variations.

However, keep this in mind. If you grew up through-out your adolescent years with kyphosis you will never completely correct the deformity without surgery. I have greatly improved my posture over the last 5-6 years, but the curve remains and it's not going anywhere without surgery.

  • kn great this video really helped me, thanks!
