  • Perchè non si boga dalle palle quello dietro?

  • This is one "symptomatic" video. =p

  • whats up nerdds!

  • whom against whom? countrys?

  • what a wast of money

  • @pandey5535 entertainment isnt a waste

  • @pandey5535 what? idiot?

  • @pandey5535 wasting mio of dollar for rugby/nba/soccer players isnt right ?

  • reactions at 24:41

  • @farmer11essex That's a classic simulation....nice dive!! ahahah

  • I love this! It is as exciting as watching Paint dry!

  • i have the feeling that the roboters can look^^

  • @FullJayson yeah thats how they detect the ball

  • 24:40 --"Oh Sh** Whistle Blow!" I commend the Ref on his use of censorship.

  • charli falling was hilarious

  • PRESS 7 REPEATEDLY! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • my statue in the backyard makes a better goalie to CHARLI's kicks :)~ is it really that hard for large bipedal robots to kick on angles?

  • is just the beginning

  • Amazing robots, I also competed in Robocup 2011 @Home league... Best wishes from Mexico, & see you soon!

  • I like the kid sized match alot but those... wait another 5 years maybe. And yeah! Alex is right, why do they only play soccer, i wanna see them play hockey, american football, baseball and even golf!!

  • Nerd Bowl....zzzzzzz

  • this shit is retarded

  • @ChesterDoraemon

    You're retarded.

"This shit" is technology at it's finest. Sorry if it doesn't meet your high expectations. I'm sure when it's developed to a shiny white consumer gadget with the apple logo on, you'll spend your months paycheck on it. It's all got to start somewhere, and I guess you have little idea of how very difficult it is to do what they're achieved with these bots.

  • @BobTheElder why does it have to be white? are you racist or something?

  • @BobTheElder thats what i thought. you really have no idea who you are talking to. your assumptions are causes for laughter.

  • @ChesterDoraemon

White, referencing the currently popular 'Apple' style which everything is copying in sci-fi and tech. And these may 'suck' compared to human players, but there's still at the fore-front of our tech, which is actually quite impressive considering the task.

    So, ner.

  • @BobTheElder i don't care how impressive it appears to be, it is useless. that's why america is shit.

  • @ChesterDoraemon go fuck yourself americas amazing

  • @PokemonManiac23 now i know you are lying.

  • @PokemonManiac23 especially canada, and the places in america that aren't the united states. the america's are seirously so cool.

  • @ChesterDoraemon

    robocup is international, not American.

this tech level is 'useless', but we must go through these 'useless' stages of development to reach really amazing robot tech. Hence my comment about how you just want the finished consumer product in it's gimicky packaging. This isn't a product, this is research in progress. SUCCESSFUL research, which is constantly improving.

  • @BobTheElder not really, you had like what a decade of this robocup. what you have to show for it? when i look back on this , all i see is failure and incompetence.

  • how much does such a robot cost (about)?

  • @Spibot 30k euros

  • i'd run rings round them

  • @MrAmirAmoli You can go to college for this field of work. It's luck?

  • bring ASIMO , into such games ,he/she is a lot more intelligent and more independent .

  • they may be slow but i'm sure in the mext 10 years we'l be makeing them box and fight to the death

  • Comment removed

  • @AlexRacineTV real steal status in ten year...logical prediction

  • @AlexRacineTV yeah, maybe but first skynet will come.

  • @AlexRacineTV maybe more like 50 yrs

  • @AlexRacineTV just like real steel

  • @AlexRacineTV Do you saw Real Steel ? :p

  • @AlexRacineTV one does not simply pass 10 years to watch them box

  • @AlexRacineTV YOu dont get it - It will be always humans who will create those robots and programm them to kill people. And not 10 years. Watch Petman video - military DARPA founded robot (for killing)

  • fastest paced game i've seen yet!

  • @MrAmirAmoli

    You're calling them freaks?

Enjoy your minimum wage job, these guys have the potential to make millions.

  • 0:57 = fail

  • bender would destroy them )))

  • Gol

  • the comments are better then the video lol

  • 13:53 robot trollface xD

  • well what do you expect, this is in america, americans cant built shit, they always have to have people from other countries come and built shit for them

  • per me che sono nata quando ancora non esistevano le lavabiancherìa è straordinario ciò che l'intelligenza umana può fare!!

  • 16:06 ahahaha THE RETARDED ROBOT bends to parry ahaha

  • 7:03 the retarded robot regurgitate his own intestines ahahaha

  • 4:39 lol the robot kick the ball like a ritarded

  • Sooo awesome. My school too! GO VT!

  • VIRGINS

  • how does the robo find the ball? its definitely not using an object detecting sensor...does the ball have electronics in it?

  • @bvprulz And why do you think it's not using a camera?

  • @bvprulz If you read the official rules, the robots are supposed to mimic human senses as closely as possible, including the use of cameras for vision.

  • o look it ended just in time for next years championship

  • hHAHAHAHAH! ;0

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...huh ? Did they score ??

  • soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Que Legaau

  • the goal keeper fell asleep lol

  • ...What the fuck

  • even i at high school made a robot that played football that could run 5 times faster, and kick the ball accurately sending it 20 meters far...

relly what is this??? im disappointed, maybe we as a country should participate also. but we have to funds for a "team"

  • how are the robots so fast? :O

  • We're in geek Heaven.

  • "abi her şey zamanlama yea" diye teşhisi koyan arkadaşlar iyi ki varsınız ;)

  • Wow, a simple game is a terrible challenge for a robot but what this guys have done to get to this may seem senseless but this is just the beginning. For those who critic negatively what these teams have accomplished, well, what would you expect from them?

  • Look at all the robots have to do. First, stand on two legs and walk. Not a minor task. Then not just object recognition, but recognition on a field and with lots of other things going on (i.e. people). Navigate to that point, kick the ball (another balancing trick), and aim for the goal. We've seen lots of robots to these tasks individually, but not often all together and usually at a corporate level, not college. And almost always Japanese. Go VA Tech! Turns out there are American efforts.

  • Let's think- whad kind of visual sensors does they have?

  • That is pretty neat. It is a good reminded of how advanced the human body is...

  • What does CHARLI keep looking up at? He's a very impressive robot.

  • CrampS LOL.

  • it's like watching snails fuck

  • Comment removed

  • A man with no legs can kick harder than these robots.

  • this is just most superflously lame... i mean whats with that kick.. ??? pinochio can pack mightier punch that you... (good job with making the robo walk and not mangle itself into a mush)

  • i would like to see a replay of a shot in slow motion

  • ha ha, okay some observations. The Dutch can't ever catch a break, even in robosoccer. also, Germany's coaching style still leads to very technical soccer.

  • Like a Messi xD

  • (Favorite comment:)

"In your face world! Our nerds with Asian names are smarter then your nerds with Asian names."

    U-S-A!

    U-S-A!

    Hehe

  • Fast bi-pedal motion without losing balance is hard! The evolutionists would have us believe that we have this ability by chance? I guess that chance is a whole bunch smarter than we are.

  • @fwupow I would argue about this, but I remembered that this video is about robotics, not biology.

  • The second guy is too jittery so he's par three for sure.

  • Man that smaller one looks like it was built like shit. It shakes around and looks flimsy as fuck.

  • @assbitchfucky it looks like its doing the jitterbug.

  • Congratulations to the brains at Virginia Tech.

  • Funny how the chubby guy on the winning team picks his nose while setting up the robot and then shakes hands with the losing team with the same hand... :P

  • NERDS!!!

  • They are antonymous. I think it's pretty good considering it seems so difficult to scale robots up in size.

  • These robots are amazing, and give me flashbacks to the scenes from Robocop of the failed experiments.

  • It is pathetic this is the best they can do.

  • @ThinkTank255 It is a very complex problem. We are getting there. The goal is 2050 to compete with humans.

  • Wide right... no goal. That was close!

  • What an amazing block. I held my breath the whole time...

  • You laugh now.. but in a few years, these things will be beating human players :)

  • @EricFleet

At this rate it will be a few millennia.

  • @ThinkTank255 Don't be so negative. Do recall that half some years ago, a single computer unit filled up an entire. Now, your iPod is probably more powerful than any of those computers and fits in your hand.

  • @AuraHero

I'm not really being negative, just realistic. This, in no way reflects state-of-the-art robotics. They could do much better than this with current technology.

  • @ThinkTank255

    **should be mentioned**

Billions of dollars isn't being spent on this tecnology... So to get to this stage is a modern miracle.

  • @leaf16nut

I'm just saying, they could have done a much better job, even at low cost. It really comes down to the programming. Instead of trying novel approaches, they are all clearly going straight from the textbook with no imagination or creativity. The whole point of these competitions is failure and learning from mistakes, and I just don't see enough failure to justify the existence of these competitions.

  • @ThinkTank255

You clearly arn't aware of the technologies involved in making these robots, programming is the easiest part... Designing a light weight robot that can stand on two feet and walk independantly was austounding; now to make it shift it's weight, swing its leg,and kick a ball without falling over in the process...

Besides this is only the second year of "adult sized" robot soccer players, so you should really do your homework before critizing a new technology.

  • @leaf16nut

    "...programming is the easiest part..."

And that's exactly the problem. They have exactly the same attitude. Far from being "the easiest part", as a person that understands the intricacies of robotics, programming is the core issue impeding progress. As an example, I'm working with a bunch of mechanical engineers that THINK they know something about robotics. I come in there in 2 weeks and do more to improve their situation with a few hundred lines of code than they have in a year.

  • @ThinkTank255

But the robots can only benefit from so much code, in the end it comes down to the physical parts not being able to move as fast or as fluidly as your code can send signals.

Coding is far from easy, I'm surly not degrading the skill it takes to write such intricate lines.

But having delt with actuator's, hydrolics and various parts it takes to build a robot, physical technology needs to pull its socks up before coding can put to its full potential. and that costs cash.

  • @leaf16nut

You can only use the best actuator technology available for the price you are willing to pay. As for programming, there no limitation to how much you can improve the algorithms. I just really think they need to focus more on the code.

  • @ThinkTank255

By 2050 they want a complete robotic team to compete against humans... look at the advance in technology in only the last 20 years; leaps and bounds... In 40 years I don't see how we couldn't make that dream a reality.

  • Dang... that would have been a goal... stupid time limits!

  • This is quite amazing!

  • Yeah where's the TU Delft robot :(

  • That is funny. I am sure something is being learned from all of this but it actually looks like 2 90 year old men trying to play soccer. :o)

Now if you will excuse me, I am going to go watch some paint dry.

  • @pro151a like 2 mental handicaps you mean...

  • @pro151a when they become self aware theyll hunt you down for this comment

  • @pro151a yet it is some advanced technology, like watching robotic point dry would be

  • That Roberectus was errected.

  • Waar zijn de video`s van onze Nederlanse Robot?

  • Worst than regular football, i didn't believe it was possible :)

  • BORING, Interesting as knowledge and an advancement, boring to watch.

  • that is ... so exciting to watch... incredible!
