@badnewsbarnett they have been doing some shows not fully back together, more like shows for fun, the bass player ken lives in the town im from only 3500 people so everyone knows everyone he plays solo at the local pub every wensday as well
Reading the various comments affirms my belief that they were at the pinnacle of Canadian music for their song art. I get misty listening to them - that's powerful. I used to have a live version of this somewhere before my last computer crashed. I still search for it to download from somewhere, anywhere.
Stupid youtube butchering my last comment. Just found this tune this weekend again and have been loving this trip back down nostalgia lane. We need more bands like this.
I haven't listened to The Watchmen for a while, and I had never seen this video. Sometime around the three minute mark, a tear started sliding down my face...
The Watchmen are my all time favorite band. When Silent Radar first came out, I had been waiting and waiting. I'll admit, it was probably the hardest album up to that point for me to get into, but this song will always be one of my favorites and was from the moment I heard it. The video is an interesting handcuff to the tune as the story varies from my own impression of what it was about. Life experiences I suppose dictate what you get out of things. Anyways, thanks for putting this up.
This is a prime example of everything that is right about Canadian music. Unfortunately, I only caught the last 4 years of their touring life, but they were some of the most involving, energetic and stunning shows I have ever seen. Screw The Police, I want The Watchmen back!
I remember seeing them tear the house down in Buffalo a few times. The Watchmen, Headstones, Lowest of the Low. Early 2000s were a good time for Canadian rock
This song holds that childhood chant sorta feeling.... I'm not sure if that makes any sense, but it hits some note inside that goes way down deep... all gone now... etc.
From one of the best Cds I own. I'm 61 years old and have over 4000 lps and perhaps 400 Cds. Stumbled across them by looking for "any day now" a hit from my high school days. Silent Radar is fantastic.

When I bought the CD for Stereo, this is the song that I liked most out of the album which didn't play on the radio at all.

I love this tune...also the filming at the Winnipeg Film Group is pure classic.
No one has used the ally-way tunnel in a video/film as well as this video has.
Thank you for posting this classic, I enjoy looking at from time to time to appreciate the simplicity of all that could be complicated.
Cheers
