  • was this recorded with a potato?

    still awesome

  • this version is from John Cale

  • Those of you who think this song should have won 'Best Original Song', raise your hand.

    Enjoy the Super Bowl.

  • This Sonq Is Really Sad' :c But Its Great' C:

  • yea know, when i saw the scene with donkey and the dragon, it made me think: how did they have kids O___O

  • I must be cry...The song is so wonderful... <3

  • had to sham this mofo lol. JOHN CALE FTW!

  • It's way too fast, but despite that an ok version:)

  • You're right, that is John Cale. His voice is clearer than Rufus Wainwright's.

Also, the scene at the separate tables always gets me.

  • I FOUND WHO SINGS THIS SONG! John Cale - Hallelujah

  • oooh i love atube catcher HAHAHAH!

  • Fantastic song.Прекрасное исполнение

  • "Love is not a victory march." is a powerful phrase itself, but listening to it WHILE Fiona dresses as a bride, well... That's enchanting, guys.

  • <3 HALLELUJAH

  • When I first watched this film and came across this part of the movie I was like 'o.o Its the hallelujah song!!! :D'

  • PROOF THAT 1st SHREK IS BEST

  • All other versions that I have seen are missing this chorus: Baby I've been here before; I know this room and I've walked this floor, I used to live alone before I knew YOU. But I've seen your flag on the Marble Arch but LOVE is not a victory march; Its a cold and its a broken Hallelujah.......

  • JOHN CALE IS THE ONE WHO SANG ON THE SOUNDTRACK

  • it's sooooo sad ;( the donkey with his ears...

  • what a song!

  • atleast its good sound thts all i need :)

  • hey I've uploaded a video of myself singing this song, please listen to it and let me know what you think :)

  • WHO SINGS THE VERSION FROM SHREK.. THATS THE ONE I WANNA HEAR.....

  • @stlbound1 Not entirely sure, but it sounds like John Cale's version. It's my personal favorite.

  • @stlbound1 its John Cale

  • @stlbound1 The Donkey :D

  • @stlbound1 John Cale

  • @stlbound1 Its Rufus Wainwright if I'm not wrong.

  • @stlbound1 I think you'll never find that on youtube. The singer is Rufus Wainright, but this version is the only Shrek version, and it has copyright.. you can find the normal version.

  • @stlbound1 Rufus Wainright

  • @stlbound1 john cale!!! i finally found it! :)

  • @stlbound1 It's John Cale, apparently... it's my favorite version, too. :)

  • @stlbound1 john cale

  • @stlbound1 It's John Cale

  • the original version is the best animation. I love the most is the moment when Shrek is sitting in his house and thinks about his princess and she thinks about him. Such scenes are typically found only in the movies and fairy tales. Unfortunately, that happens in real life if it misses only one person, because the other person does not care

  • Fuck Rufus Wainwright, John Cale's version is the best, along with Cohen's

  • Well, when I saw Shrek for the first time, I was convinced that this is elton john singing.

  • I'm going to watch all Shrekk movie from 1-4 until i get bored!

  • im crying cuz of jack

  • yeah whose the one that sings it in the shrek movie?

because rufus wainwright isn't the one!

this voicce sounds a bit more harsh it's beautiful ♥ ♥

  • @lindalejandratorres7 i think it was John Cale who sung the one in the film

  • @jade45631 HOLY SHIT THANK YOU. This is John Cale singing in this one.

  • @AdamTehBoss np :D

  • i love the song it fits the mood but if you think about it the song really has nothing to do with the movie lol

  • This is the best version of the song.

  • 1:23 XD fiona:bitch *puts down*

  • Te video quallity is bad, but its the only one with shrek original version! Beautiful song

  • well the picture quality maybe off, but its the only one I've found with the original Shrek version and not the Rufus Wainwright one that's on the sound track release.

  • @mjm05010 that's cool

  • @mjm05010 I Believe the Rufus Wainwright one was actually from the original Shrek version and not the soundtrack release.

  • @RenegadeVictim This is John Cale singing in this the movie version, Rufus Wainwright is the one on the "Shrek: Music From the Original Motion Picture" album, but John Cale maybe listed as the artist because Rufus is playing his arrangement of the piece. Check Wikipedia under both "Shrek: Music from the Original Motion Picture" and "Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen song)" to confirm.

  • @mjm05010 right!!!!

  • I love this song, but the video quality is terrible.
