It's called "Trafficing in Human Misery". None of this crap reduces recidivism, that interviewed inmate would admit anything to get out and is probably a pet snitch, the lowest form of life in prison. The pink bit? We had an asshole sheriff like that here in NC that eventually got found out over the crimes he was comitting while in office. IF you can enjoy another's misery, you are by definition criminally thinking. Loving the Unlovable is tuff and the true test of one's humanity.

I think laughing at adding humiliation to the sentences we decide as a state, and nation makes it easier for us to be okay with torture down the line. As the reporter mentioned, it has had mixed results meaning it has not becessarily worked in the past. The reporter was way out of line during the interview. He can certainly use some pink to bring out his softer more human side.
