  • ウーッ!! upされた方に感謝❤

    渋い!! この静謐なる♪はJazzを越えてる!!

I have never head that piece of music before !!

  • thanks for the info about foley playing bass in this song, he's crediticed as lead guitar player... and by the way this do sounds very similar to live around the world version, but i dont think's the same recording, but I haven't heard the cd recently..haha...

  • Bennie on bass

  • Interesting to hear Miles playing in such a straight-ahead blues setting - how he refuses to play cliched licks, tries to make in new. Guitarist starts out with restraint (rare), but eventually falls hard into a morass of tired licks I've heard a thousand times before.

  • @blueyedboymrdeath dude. i love this guiter solo. each to their own i spose.

  • This is a beautiful song.

  • As someone that knows very little about jazz or indeed playing any type of instrument, can somebody please tell me why miles was so good???

  • @hearts76100 If you have to ask, you'll never understand.

  • @hearts76100 As Duke said - there's only good and bad music. Music has its own reasons and only music that resonates to you makes it good to your ears. Listen with your heart... open it up and it will come to you - specially if you listen to the space between the notes; what Miles does not play. Also once he starts playing without the mute (kind of like a high wire act on any level) his silence adds too much to mention. At the end Foley kind of overplays.... but thats just nerves.

  • @honeybozo

Very interesting............ive absolutely no idea what you talking about but thanks for trying to explain the genius that is Miles Davis.

    Regards

  • @hearts76100 Duke Ellington is Duke.... music is emotion so you have to feel it... you cannot access it with your mind... it has to resonate with your being... pure and simple.... now listen to silence... silence within and silence outside.... foley is a guitar-player and as per usual plays too much.... what else dont you understand?

  • @honeybozo

Well your obviously in the know and im not, so i think we'll leave it there!

It is something that im not blessed with but again thanks for your time!

  • @hearts76100 at 0:28 someone shouts "hold on" ... please hearts... do yourself a favour and try to listen to the difference between what happens prior to that and how Miles hits his tone after and dont let your mind or anyone tell you that you are not "in the know" .... you've landed on this clip for a reason.... anyway if your impatience now stops you - please come back to this clip another time... thank you for YOUR time

  • @hearts76100 and one more thing at 2:41 something happens.... if you can respond to anything I say - could you please tell me what you hear happening?

  • @sclogse1 YEP! Nothin' but the Blues!

  • The Blues.

  • foley at his best!

  • it's not a guitar player , it is a bass player

  • awesome!!!

  • i play trumpet this guy amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • duznt Foley play a five string piccolo bass ??

  • Foley is on a "C" Bass Guitar. It generally has a higher range an is smaller than a regular bass guitar.

  • very nice ! です.

  • nobody played the blues like miles and miles loved the blues

  • Is it included in the Live around the world CD?

  • breakthrough into fusion jazz. the best!!

  • @soliver13

    who says its jazz

  • Okay, you got me there. I guess what I'm saying is that it's easy to play. Why didn't I think of this? I would also be rich.

  • i dont know why didnt u? guess ull have to think of something else easy now.

anyway "music is like food take what u like and leave the rest"

  • improvisation is jazz walking on the rythm, harmony and texture and play with colour,is jazz!!!!!! when you know where to go but you take diffrent ways to go ,it is jazz !!

miles allways were and is JAZZ

  • Este Miles es tan increible,,,tengo una revista de este año, "A 50 años de Kind Of Blue" las cosas q dice sobre ese album WOW

  • wonderful foley!!!!!

  • who is this guitarist? very soulful and leaves just enough empty spaces.

  • Band: (Tell me if i´m wrong)

    Trumpet, Keyboards.- Miles

    Guitar: Joseph (Foley) McCreary

    Bass: Benjamin Rietveld

    Keyb: Robert (Bobby) Irving III

    Sax: Kenny Garrett

    Perc: Marylin Mazur

Drums: guess it´s Ricky Wellman, i don´t see him.

  • @juandirecto foley was a lead bass player

  • his name is Foley. (Joseph McCreary) and that instrument is not really a guitar. It is a 4 string piccolo bass with a whammy bar.

  • I saw Miles in concert in 1987

  • Miles is a god..

  • Miles was a motherfucker. He was a mean son of a bitch who could bust your chops in a second flat. But he was a brilliant musician and genius too.

  • Sorry, but this seems like a silly argument to me. In some cultural paradigms, everything is alive and dancing, spinning, vibrating - animal, vegetable and mineral. A trumpet could sit alone in some dusty corner and still be alive! But if the soul of the artist is dead, then there is a way the instrument can't fully live. As these guys are playing some really mean blues, all this shit is burnin' here. Long live Miles and his goddam trumpet. Any way you describe it, Miles was a Mother Fucker!

  • the 80's took it's toll on poor Miles...

  • the trumpet and guitar are the hardest instruments to play

  • not sure if that's really true... a bizarre comment nonetheless...

  • yeah...they're both very hard to play...just as the korean harp..and a million other ones, badmf, you're clearly thinking in strictly western terms

  • No instrument is hard to play.

  • All instruments are hard to play WELL

  • Exactly.

  • trumpet's very hard, but guitar's very easy. you can pick a guitar up and learn certain chords on guitar very quickly, and get good at it in under 4 years (yes, even in terms of fast jazz runs). it's impossible to pick up a trumpet and do that.

Btw, don't listen to the guys calling your comment stupid. they'ra all pretentious snobs who probably can't even play an instrument, let alone well

  • Thank you voncoolio, that is sooo true,u know whats going on bro.

  • listen man, i'm just commenting on a video, no need for sarcastic jabs

  • Ive been a profession trumpeter for over 25 years and I agree with u that the trumpet is a demanding Instrument.I dont have the times for Jabs or petty Insults!!!!

  • @jwalkam Your mother had time for petty jabs.

  • I will give you the fact that trumpet is HARD to sound good and play good. But every instrument has it's challenges, that guitarist who has been playing for 4 years may sound passable, but they are in no way *great* and it takes a lot to be *great* at anything. Thing about music and instruments is it is actually a lot about understanding music in general (everything about it). The technique comes second to that.

  • At 12 after playing sax for 2 years Chris Potter was winning awards that college students generally won.

  • UP YA TRUMPET! Gotta loves Miles

  • your comment went to the wrong person. I said the trumpet is king. I'm pro trumpet !

  • You need to listen to some of the modern trumpet player like, Terence Blanchard, Christian Scott, Terell Stafford, Till Broenner, and Tomasz Stańko. These guys are pushing the jazz and R&B to new levels. The trumpet is one of the most desire instruments you can play. Keeping up and passing (Trumpet) !

  • weird yet amazing

  • Have you lost your mind?

  • no you just did not say that het man listen to some Roy Hargrove Also and then speak that shit miles davie kept up and the ones after hime keep going like the ones tonyfears named and many more sorry (R.I.P you words)

  • 2 questions. What do you play and are you on crack? The trumpet is king!

  • trumpet cannot technically keep up with modern music???? dude u dont make sense..."technically"?? "modern music"?? haha...ur definetly drunk

  • you are under influence?
