Alec Empire is the god of alternative electronic music. From drum n bass to breakbeat, noisecore, dubstep, grime.... he pioneered all these styles. Thanks to all involved in the DHR scene but especially Alec
must have been back in the good o'l days when mtv actualy played music instead of shity reality shows like the hills and jersey shore even mtv canada plays that shit buncha sellouts they are
mtv is everything that digital hardcore tries to destroy. its all bout the cash. search the digital hardcore documentary on youtube. with ATR interviews etc.
To the person comparing this to Prodigy... I think after you've heard a bit more electronic music you will see the difference between Empire and Prodigy (I enjoy both bands btw). It has more to do with the aggression in Alec's music... While the samples are indeed similar, they are just being purposed to different ends. I agree with the other posters. Breakbeats and Breakcore (or Digital Hardcore) are worlds apart.
how could MTV mercantilist mind let these piece of art to be spreaded around the world under it's label....I mean MTV = comercial pourposes only , Alec Empire = Anti-sistem activist against mercantilim..... it's kind of weird... despite the fact MTV is worst now a days..
@Plexpara Hold on for just a second, this track does resemble the original prodigy sound, almost the same breakbeats (altough different in speed and harshness) and the hovering sound characteristic to the rave music (prodigy - charlie) . But yes, it goes only as far as that.
I listen to alot of different Genre's, but alot of the Breakbeat Hardcore/Jungle music from the early to mid 90s, you'll never get that excellence again...
And by the way, Alec started actively DJing in 1990...possibly earlier. ATR was a band that he formed...he had been making music on his own before then and has continued to since.
If I'm correct, Prodigy actually started recording demos in 1991.
Either way, let's face it, Prodigy just sort of rode on the coat tails of the DHR movement.
If mtv audience doesn`t like it, they would simply take it of the air, if they do like it - who are we to say what people deserve, it`s like fascism then.
Glad This Video is back on Youtube! This is the track what made me got into Alec's material. His 90's Works we're the greatest. Love this video! cheers for uploading!

@industrialmonster666
wow... no.
Alec had nothing to do with dubstep or grime. he dabbled in DnB, but not much AT ALL.
And he in no way pioneered breakbeat.
he IS however, the inventor of breakcore.

the more mainstream the clips, the more money they get from advertisement. only a select group likes this unfortunately.
but there used to be special hours reserved for "different" music styles if I recall correctly.

you should watch the documentary " the history of house music "
Prodigy comes more from acid house . Their first single Android is a house track.
And yes im posting from a ps3 in my living room and it sometimes is clumsy hence 3 replies.
