  • Yes but can it handle me playing solitaire and checking my e-mail at t he same time?

  • is it just me or is he using ibm's from like 6 years ago

  • Does it mean that a single-threaded program like Phun run faster than on the older chips?

  • will the Turbo Boost get me to school on time when I'm running late?

  • wtf some vids say have 6 cores and this video i7 have only 4 cores that stupid

  • @xITheLegendsIx those 4 cores have 8 threads at $300 and a hexcore is like a $700 processor with 12 threads. not very stupid. just difference prices.

  • Nice Video Man..

  • the turbo mode ...

If you see .. u have 3.00GHz at normal .. if u in turbo mode .. it will be 3.60GHz or 4.00GHz

  • my Desktop computer has a 2.8 GHz 6 Core AMD Processor

my Laptop computer has a 2.5 GHz 2 Core Intel Processor

    im a dual-core traitor xD

  • I can feel a huge amount of "zeal virus" here...

  • wow, you guys get really pissed over something meager like computer processors.

  • they just put some more power/voltage on the processor at certain tasks and now they called it "turbo" that shows how stupid poeple can be+

  • Ugh, why is there a 0-core and no 4-core? -.-

  • @m4ssee The first core is the 0 core. Get used to it.

  • @mymiuchiz

Yes but why 0 instead of 4?

  • @m4ssee The computer (Sorry, I don't have much knowledge about this) starts caculations from 0. Everything technically starts from 0. The code written for it, is 0 and 1. All 0's and 1's. We've been TAUGHT to start from 1. Computers see them from 0. Nothing, is no number.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Most things 'computer' related are usually labeled this way.

  • @PhysicsTowerTeam

Oh, I undestand it now. Its like that binary shit..

  • @m4ssee Sure :)

It's pretty amazing that our lives currently rely on 0's and 1's. Without them, the whole world today, would fail.

  • @m4ssee it is weird, but let's talk like intelligent beings... "0" is a number too xD

  • All I can say about AMD processors: Two of my friends bought the AMD 6 core processors (forget the model), and every time they went to run ANY 3D application, let it be Max, Blender, Call of Duty or any similar program which uses either Directx or OpenGL, it would hardware fault or bluescreen for them. Anyone have a brilliant solution for that? I think not.

  • @x8cariboulou Yes, but you also pay an Arm and a Leg for something a little bit better.

  • @inutichow i would prefer my hardware to render 3D applications without hardware faults though. I do agree that it costs more, and for certain things, AMD is better, however, Intel is probably a bit better overall. (price aside) it all depends on what you are planning on using the PC for.

  • Two questions:

    1) Do you have to press a button to turbo-boost your Intel Cores?

    2) Won't your laptop overheat much faster when you're turboboosting the cores?

    Thanks in advance!

  • I have a i7 950 , does it have this boost thing? :o

  • @CrASYmUZIk of course mate :)

  • @CrASYmUZIk yes

  • @TheDougtechcrew yeah , i found out already , checked in my bios: enabled

  • And I thaught I was smart

  • i...dont...understand...anything

  • IS IT SAFE TO TURBO BOOST ???

  • @zawette

    only with kitt 2000!

  • aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Nerdgasme..........

  • Phenom II X6

  • I get the feeling that this guy is pretty smart

  • New technology? My 486 had an awesome Turbo button which overclocked the CPU to a stunning 50 Mhz!

  • Hi, I have the Intel Core i7-990x Extreme Edition, with Motherboard Gigabyte G1.Assassin, Case Cooler Master HAF X 942, and Nvidia GTX 590, and its really fast and powerfull. I am very happy.

    Greetings from AREQUIPA (PERÚ).

    You can see in:

    watch?v=4FiTgxpopZ8

  • @perupresente holy f*** i thought mine was powerful

  • until now I haven't been a fan of AMD (actually I hated it) But when the Bulldozer series are out... that's going to dominate completly anything under 500$ intel throw at them while costing around 300$.

  • Comment removed

  • AMDS works better, it doesnt kill the other cores... it just lowest them to boost up half the cores... not just 1 CORE

    AMD WINS

  • Comment removed

  • its i5

  • lol the intel AMD fanboi wars never end.

this joe guy's been watching too many 1990s AMD-vs-Intel heatsink removal videos. He sees one first-gen athlon cpu fry because its heatsink's been removed and automatically thinks every single amd chip does it. the video was biased; the pentiums the athlons were being compared to were newer models--namely the first ones to have the anti-fry safety features. Pick the pentium models before it and the athlon 2's after it, and the story'd be in reverse.

  • We all need to remember that Intel is the one that creates the technology; AMD had to copy Intel in order to even stay in the market back in the 80s... Wasn't even until the late 90s that the stupid contract between AMD and Intel finally severed. AMD is the one who is always second in line trying to be better. Sorta like NVIDIA and ATI for the longest time. AMD and ATI are the same company now, and they still suck.

  • @1000miles2paradise Now I do have a i5 and I can't argue about what u said about cpus.. But saying that the company who delivered a dx 11 card 6 months before Nvidia is copying them and they are not as good... that is complete bullshit not to say that ATI started making Video cards 8 years before Nvidia was founded. but to prefer a i5 at the price of 400$ when you could get a 8 core beast for only 350$ is completly foolish.

  • @terorvlad I bought an AMD/ATI system (and, by the way, I don't skimp on the systems...) last February. The same system purchased the year prior with older Intel and nvidia hardware benchmarks higher on 3DMark11. Worst purchase I ever made. I'll spend the extra money and stick with a brand that has proven itself to me...

  • Intel blows balls amd ftw

  • can i play farmville in it?????

i think 4 cores will not handle farmville....

    XD LOL....

  • @dote21 I am sorry but you can't play farmville, buuuut pacman will run fine. :p

  • @dote21 haha

  • The only reason that people still buying AMD processors cuz they are out of money (me too :( ) Intel FTW.

  • and this works automatically whith my 2600k?

  • This guy gets all the hot chicks, so stop frontin'

  • @SAButterbrot hahahha..... whopping 66Mhz. that's seriously fast

  • AMD has Turbo Core and costs much less. All you guys are paying for is Intel ads.

  • @ooBounceDKoo Really? Try to remove the fan to your AMD processor, it won't last, INTEL WILL. Try to compare your "AMD" 6 core processor, to my intel i5, MINE IS FASTER. Test your processor and you'll be able to see that 4 cores of Intel's processors are faster than 9 AMDs. All I'm paying is Intel ads? I think all I'm paying is: Fast processing units, highly overclockable, low power consumption and really reliable chips. Talking shit about Intel without even getting your facts straight, SHAME

  • @JoesPlaying

Well yea, AMDs might burn out if you take the heat sink off but i've senn a vid on here were that test was run and not all of the intel chips survived, besides in what way does that lead to them being better? I've had plenty of intel and AMD chips, and i'll always buy AMD over intel as to get a same spec chip from intel it costs 4 times as much and just isnt viable.

  • @JoesPlaying wait till Bulldozer is here...

  • @jaydotosh Bulldozer will be 50% faster than the i7 950, which means it still won't beat the 990x even though it's going to be 8 cores, also this is the first time they're going on 32nm manufacture, you say "wait till Bulldozer", took 1 year for AMD to get to where intel was 2 years ago? I say wait till intel comes out with their new stuff.. I'm not a fan of any, but I'd rather save up money and go for intel, no matter what

  • @JoesPlaying I'm not a fan of either, but I absolutely detest intel's marketing aims, as it is monopolising (yes, I'm in England) its target market. Look at nVidia: they have licensed SLi technology on AMD chipsets; this means that nVidia knows somehting good about Bulldozer that we don't. You have ot consider the possibilites: AMD could be talking about its entry-level Bulldozer model (meaning that, if the goods are released soon, we can truly find out was hiding behind the curtains)

  • @JoesPlaying COMMENT CONTINUED: there could be and even more powerful model of the Bulldozer processor. You never can be too sure. One minute you're (not you lol, I'm just saying) bragging about 'INTEL RULES' and the next week AMD releases its processors which make Intel's 990x look like a i386 compared to a Athlon X2!! I personally am planning on a new gaming rig build, so I'm not too sure what to get; I was going to buy a 990x (WAAAY too expensive), then thought of getting a Phenom II X6 1100T

  • @jaydotosh No I don't go "INTEL RULES" and then next week I'm all crazy about AMD, and you know why? Because doesn't matter what, Intel will always come back faster, yes, pricey, but will always be first at having the crazy technologies, took AMD 1 year to get where intel was 1 year and a half ago, all I'm saying is: if you're restricted on money, either get a good Intel chip and overclock it, or just go for an AMD.. but Intel will perform better no matter what.. trust me

  • @JoesPlaying lol you are such an Intel fanboy. No one can predict the future. in 2 years time you're just gonna say AMD is the best; exactly what you said to me about Intel. Money is no restriction for me, but I simply do not like Intel for the simple reason that they keep releasing new sockets and EOL'ing old motherboards. How are you so sure Intel is always going to be faster? Past statistics? Look at the future. AMD has made a processor for a supercomputer thats equal to 12,571 C2D processors

  • @jaydotosh I'm not a fanboy but my i3 550 2core happens to be only 10% slower than the AMD 6 cores, I'm not a fan of either, I just say the truth, just like I would say Nvidia owns AMD, everyone who has enough money to go for Intel will never regret it, soon or later with AMD everyone will start complaining, AMD sells and sells just because people think it's cheap and good lol, Intel will always last longer, longer longer loooooonger than AMD

  • @JoesPlaying that is just BULLSHIT. the i3 is definately not 10% slower that the X6. If it were, then why in the holy name of fuck would AMD market its hex-core processor in the high-end section of the market? You are comparin 3 threads to 6 threads? you should consider these things before conjuring up bullshit. I have nothing against you, its only the fact the you are so badly mal-informed. I had a GTX 560, and it failed on me 3 times. Had a 9400GT and it failed me twice. I am sick of nVidia.

  • @JoesPlaying AMD is better than both. You should read up about the Intel monopoly, and how AMD created a lawsuit against Intel back in June 2005.

  • @JoesPlaying I now see why you favour nVidia and Intel so much; with your i5 computer and nVidia graphics. Back in 2000 I had a Intel; I have to say it was awesome at the time, but then I got an AMD Duron and it just kicked ass. This time, I'm goin' nVidia and AMD. Maybe ATi in the future (highly likely).

  • @jaydotosh lol Chill.. in 90% games my i3 is even better than that 6 core crap, dude, I don't want to argue neither am I badly informed, I own both AMD & Intel/NVIDIA hardware, the price of AMD'S actual best cpu is 200€, the price of my i3 is 140€, and it's almost as good, by the way my i3 has 4 threads not 3, and 4 intel threads are better than 6 AMD, and that's fact, have a nice day

  • @JoesPlaying lol sorry I lost my cool than.. got a bit carried away. I don't know much about lower-end Intel products (like the core i3) but in the link I sent you, the i3 wasn't even compared to the x6, and in some tests iactually beat the core i7. I think you may have doen something wrong in the test comparison you did between the processors. there is no way the i3 can be compared to th x6. That's just plain stupid. The i3 is still a dual core though. But I guess its great value for money in

  • @jaydotosh Bud I said "in many games" it outperforms the x6, not in benchmarks.. but yeah i'll have to take a look at the Bulldozer, or get the 8 cores just to say "yeah 8 core bitches" lol

  • @JoesPlaying nah the benchmarks were 'many games'. like I said in the past, I'm not an AMD fanboy, I even said I was gonna get a 990x or a i7 2600K. I don't go around YouTube to say that 'My i5 is faster than a AMD X6' and that 'Try to remove the fan to your AMD processor, it won't last, INTEL WILL' nor do I boast about '4 cores of Intel's processors are faster than 9 AMDs'. You've just proved to me that you're an Intel fanboy; 'all I'm paying is: Fast processing units and really reliable chips'

  • @JoesPlaying and, like you said, 'Talking shit about Intel without even getting your facts straight, SHAME'

well I say, 'Talking shit about AMD without even getting your facts straight, Shame'. The information that you're pouring out of your mouth is as useful as a bowl of pubes. So please, stop being a hypocrit okay?

  • @JoesPlaying #continued# budget systems I guess.

  • @JoesPlaying oh yeah, I forgot... 'hava a nice day' -.-

  • @jaydotosh lol you need to chill man, Intel will always overclass AMD, the only reason I would take a look to AMD's shit is because then I can laugh my ass off when Intel replies back.. also yes, Intel will 80% times last without the fan, AMD will never last, which tells us that Intel uses higher quality components, also yes, 4 Intel cores are faster than 9 AMDs.. and that's fact.. also that comment where I stated those things, was a reply to a guy insulting Intel, so I turned him off. Byebye

  • @JoesPlaying so... you ARE an Intel fanboy. I don't need to 'chill' i'm chill already. Your ignorance makes me laugh at you. I don't know where the hell you getting all this information from, but one thing is true: you say that intel "has always overclassed AMD", well I can say that its bullshit; I remember back in 2000 - 2005 gamers always chose AMD. Why you ask? Because Intel was shit. Plain and simple.

  • @JoesPlaying Off the record, I'm buying a Core i7 2600k and dual GTX 580s, I chose the i7 because it drew 20w less power; they are so similar. I would say there's no difference between them. I doubt you've been up-tp-date lately, but I've been researching this shit since I learned to take a crap when I was a child. By the way, what douchebag cunt-ass penismuncher would run a CPU without a fan? Who gives a fuck if a processor runs without a fan?

  • @jaydotosh If you run the CPU without fan and it doesn't burn it just proves it has higher quality components, there's no ignorance to laugh about, or it's you trying to put the conversation like this, that way you feel superior? I'm not ignorant, I just don't like AMD, they sell a lot just cause people can't afford Intel, so they go for AMD and then throw shit at Nvidia just because they're jealous.. but hey I don't want to argue, time will help everyone figure things out.. bye

  • Intel if you're reading this...... FUCK YOU GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK.

  • @JoesPlaying REPLY CONTINUED #2 then I though of getting a Core i7 2600k.... its very hard to make a decision you're gonna stick to. At the moment, I'm not gonna buy anything, just wait for Bulldozer and Ivy Bridge then make my pick.

  • @JoesPlaying /watch?v=D-GZbrO5N-M

Phenom II X6 is more powerful than i5... watch the benchmarks in this video if you don't believe me.

  • @JoesPlaying Intel i7 $1000, AMD Phenom II X6 $200 hmm i don't care if intel is faster i can buy 5 amd CPU'S for one i7 just to expensive man. plus Bulldozer CPu's kill i7's and yes i have a friend who works for amd so i know :p

  • @shalom1181 yeah 'cause bulldozers are new and i7 are 1 year old? LOL, wait for intel's ivy bridge and then cry on your bulldozer, intel has already prooven they have STABLE 22nm chips, amd? FUCK ME

  • @JoesPlaying i'd have thumbed up ur comment 50 million times if i could :)

  • @JoesPlaying Who would want to take off the cooler from the processor while it's on!?

  • @JoesPlaying u r totally true man, +1 there

  • @JoesPlaying So? My AMD triple core runs anything maxxed...do I even care what CPU is better? Nah! MY CPU IS TEH BEST ! Never let me down!

  • @MihailGeorgescu Lol whatever you say

  • @JoesPlaying the new amd and intel processors have overheat protection ,i guess u saw the old toms hardware video :P .BTW do u have an i5 sandy :)

  • @vasumamayo I swaped to i3 560 and OC'd it to 4.4GHz..

  • @JoesPlaying You are WAY behind on the times... Ever since either the Athlon 64 or the original Phenom AMD, too, can throttle back due to thermals. It is not a good idea, naturally, but it can be done.

You are right on the rest though, Intel has a commanding lead - we should ALL hope that that lead narrows rather than broadens, however, as only a competitive AMD can keep prices at bay.

That said, I'll be sticking with AMD in most system builds, still better perf/$ on the low-mid end.

  • @JoesPlaying I'm still an AMD fan :\

Quite frankly, when it comes to virtualization and VDI, I can see a huge difference in performance... especially when considering performance to price ratio.

  • @Meowmiks lol not true, considerind 2 years old beat the so claimed "bulldozer" everyone was trashing intel because of bulldozer and now that it's out, 1-2 years old intel cpu beat it.. lol that's just sad

  • @JoesPlaying I'm talking about Opterons... not bulldozer. You know... stuff that actually matters as opposed to how many FPS one gets in Crysis.

  • @Meowmiks lol.. both suck, amd is not worth shiit, there's a reason if it's 5 times cheaper than intel

  • @JoesPlaying Somehow I doubt you've even used an opteron, let alone setup a server for VDI deployments.

  • @JoesPlaying hey douchebag... any phenom II x6 performs better than your cpu in 90% of applications!

  • @gusnhde93 yeah just like an i3 performs better than bulldozer in most games.. lol.. and since you started your statement with an insult I won't even bother replying again

  • @JoesPlaying i3 performs better than all cpu's in most games... mother f@cker

  • @ooBounceDKoo That and cool stuff like 32nm technology instead of 45nm..

  • @ooBounceDKoo are u gay? i5 2500k will smack AMD's top-of-the-line CPU, the phenom ii x6 1100t in everycase

  • Intel Inside Says Intel Outside Sucks

  • overheating galore!

  • Apple has disabled Intel Turbo Boost in the new 2011 13 inch Macbook Pro 2.7 ghz dual core processor while running Windows 7.

  • is it the same with 2 cores 4 threads? or its just with 4 cores?

coz i dont know yet what threads are.

  • @Mr2pacLegend yes it is not dependent on cores and by the way threads are simply the processes.

  • @freemanintheworld thank you for informations

  • @Mr2pacLegend you are welcome

  • @Mr2pacLegend Imagine that each member of your family giving you a list of tasks to complete almost simultaneously. 4 threads is the equivalent of 4 family members. Now imagine that you could delegate one list of tasks per friend, now because they are working in an confined space all of you friends can only work at a certain efficiency, but imagine that you had 4 friends, but 2 task-lists, without turbo-boost the two non-working friends would hinder the performance of the ones who do work.

  • @sundhaug92 wow, that is realy interesting and thank you for the information.

  • Is it automatic?

  • @YamiPoyo

    Yes

  • new fuck tecnology my hp dv7 runs now witcout turbo boost :-)

  • Intel turbo boost program works like shit on a HP Pavilion dv7-4195ed with a integrated soundcard! Delete the whole Intel/MSI Turbo tool, and your laptop works great, and have a beautiful sound.

  • a mac can half the power! thats why i love it. :>

  • @ochgottnochma you only need half the power when your running shit like a fuckin word processor

I KNOW RIGHT WORD PROCESSORS ARE HARD CORE

but on pc's you need the power for games.

    "Which games" you ask

    ALL OF THEM

  • WHEN SOME CORES IS "OFF", CORE VOLTAGE IS CHANGED?

ONE CORE WHICH IS "ON" HAVE TO MUCH VOLTAGE? (MY ENGLISH IS BAD I KNOW :p)

  • My i3 dont have turbo boost. =(

  • it very very very super super ultimate slow ~

  • My i3 don't have it =( sad face.

  • it really FAST!

  • man..amazing demo...now its crystal clear!!

  • @HackerBoy2610 no pentium 4 better!

  • Comment removed

  • Its' absolutly the best idea. Eko and Performance.

Hope that americans do some extra procesor that reduce price both :)

  • I don't really care what processor is inside the computer I buy. AMD or Intel. I care more about the graphicscard since I play games, not making stuff in photoshop and such...

  • @nofreedomofspeech In PC games the processor is much important as graphic card you dumb shit.

  • @maorizio1 It's definitly not! Anyone will tell you the GPU is much more important then the CPU when it comes to graphics, ask around first, talk later, dumb shit...

  • @nofreedomofspeech Really? so maybe everyone will buy a PC that cost 400$ and the best GPU in the market? It's better for you to STFU because when it comes to PC games every hardware is important, even the speed of your RAM, dumb shit.

  • @maorizio1 Of course every piece of hardware matters, the GPU is just the most important piece when it comes to gaming, oh and STFU

  • @maorizio1 Not to... umm... "ruin" your argument, but RAM frequency is actually extremely dependent from gaming given there is enough memory to hold the entire game on... the only exception, say, would be trying to run a game that requires 3.5gbs of RAM using only 2gbs installed. Then, obviously, the frequencies would actually be used transferring constant data to and from the RAM. Just making that clear, cheers mate.

  • 12 Users from AMD got pc CRASH =))

  • um someone please tell me how can i turn on turbo boost for my i7 860 =[

  • What is the meaning of the green caps?

  • I love Intel, I personally have a Core i3 370M with just HT and it blows my old C2D away. I have ran 4 YouTube videos at once on my laptop and had no slowdown and wasn't even using half of the systems resources. Amazing!!

  • @macgeek18 Wow, I had 4 YouTube videos open on my Pentium III and the only think that was slowing down was the internet!

  • @macgeek18 While using a mac!?!?!?!?!? OMG! *Sarcasm* Mac sucks.

  • Intel doesn't just dominate AMD, it dominates it it over 9000 times and teabags it.

  • This looks really promising. I'm looking for a new computer next year with Intel Core i7 "Sandy Bridge" inside.

  • smart bastards, love my i7.

  • The Core i7 is the greatest invention since the wheel.

  • Core 1 is being lazy >:D

  • turbo mode = >400 KWh + fan noise + heat ??

  • @whisperino more heat due to the 4 cores and more electricity, no fan noise.

  • Sooo, they produce (for ex.) a 3,2GHz i7 CPU and they set/sell it as a 2,66GHz CPU, trying to convince the costumer that every time the CPU passes 2,66GHz is due to some new awesome feature called turbo boost?

  • @Th3KiD88 no, is more like the opposite. Intel sells you a 2.66GHz Cpu and when you are not using it fully, Intel overclocks the cpu for you, except for that Intel can adjust which cores are being overclocked and which one should be shut off to keep the energy under control. It more like power management/ overclocking rather than selling a 3.2GHz CPU at 2.66GHz

  • from what material is the procesor build.

  • @elbekir silicon

  • is turbo boost = over clocking?

  • @ilovebreadcrumbs yes. but not enthusiast overclocking. on the details page such as on newegg they list the specs on a processor and it has regular frequency and turbo mode frequency. the turbo mode is usually .2 higher, such as my I7 930 stock at 2.8, turbo mode 3.06.

  • @ilovebreadcrumbs over clocking simplified I guess

  • i can remember my old 486 too having a turbo mode... a whopping 66Mhz instead of 40 :)

  • @SAButterbrot yep, I had a button on the case to switch between 40 and 66mhz lol

  • @SAButterbrot haha yeah, OH GOD we are so old...

  • @SAButterbrot wow thats fast lol

  • what are you talking bout? i cant hear lol

    too fast

  • Comment removed

  • keep that up now intel. you have many technologies.

  • or you could just oc the i7 920 to 4 ghz and forget about turbo boost all together.

  • Do you need 8GB of RAM to run Intel Turbo Boost?

  • @24Midnighttoker : No, has nothing to do with RAM. Turbo Boost is automatic depending on load, power consumption, and temperature.

  • just myself an i7 975 for my rig lets see how my games will go with this along with 24 gb ram and gtx 465 SLI

  • @classics4lf wtf is wrong with you whyd you spend so much much you wont ebven use 6 gb of that 24 gb of ram,,,

  • @Fatalsh0ts Ramdisks maybe =D

  • @Fatalsh0ts ummm why do people spend money on nice cars or hot tubs or big screen tv's if they dont need it you wanna know why bud money aint a problem

  • @classics4lf lol rich ass bastard

  • @classics4lf WHY THE FUCK A 465??

  • @classics4lf 24GB is a bit overkill? xDD

  • @sergo40 my friend has 32gb.... LOL and yes that is overkill sometimes, but he's running a server so i guess its a little different

  • @askloglog Yeah, for servers it okay =p but when u got a gaming PC, too much ram could even make things slower..

  • @sergo40 well it depends on how fast the ram is...
