  • I remember going to East Kirkby when I was about 12 or 13 with my parents and I moved ahead of them to see what was around the corner. I stood and watched this display in terror. I think it was a living room scene then which made it worse. When the room was blown up and the fire effect started, that was when the hairs on the back of my neck stood up...

  • This freaked me out when I went...because this really happened to people and they had to suffer the horrific ordeal and effects of the air raids. Nowadays we take things for granted...and we should be grateful that we didn't have to go through this like thousands of people did during World War II...
