  • Whats this!?

  • Thank you for the nostalgia!

When I was a little kid, I had such a crush on Pamela Sue Martin, Shaun Cassidy, and Parker Stevenson --- my favorite episodes were the ones involving all three on the screen!

  • I read every Nancy Drew book I could get my hands on when I was a little girl. If this show had been on when I was growing up, I would have been in Heaven!

  • I REMEMBER LOOKING AT THIS BEFOR BATTLESTAR GALACTICA WHEN I WAS ABT 11 YRS OLD .. IT WAS ON SUNDAY CHANNEL 7 HERE IN LOS ANGELES...... DAM!!!!! I AM OLD

  • I dont know about ye guys but that music still scares the sh*t still out of me, 31 yrs later.

  • Banned Hardy Boys books NOW available :

    1 ."The Missing Chumps"

2 " The Whore Road Mystery"

3 " The Mystery of her Chinese Junk"

    4. " The Clue Up Her Bloomers" (1943)

    5. "Hunting Her Hidden Gold" (1944)

6 " Mystery Of Her Pocket Rocket" (1979)

  • @nealadams70 Excuse me.. Whore Road?? WTF?

  • @Jantv81 couldnt say "hooker" in those days...

  • @Jantv81

you do realize those book titles arent real. well almost. nealadams just replaced one or two words from the real book titles to make them look and sound bad

  • This was a network show (ABC) back then there were VERY few original syndicated shows...There weren't many channels in the 70's.... The only syndicated, non-network show that was a flash in the pan hit (that I could recall) was the soap spoof "Mary Hartman"...

  • I never viewed this intro back then because I completely loved the great intro to

"The Wonderful World of Disney" on channel 4 (NBC here in NYC). I Never missed Disney (This show was opposite Disney on ABC). I remember thinking how Hot Pamela was back then & later seeing her on Dynasty...Back then the Star Tabloid reported that Pamela was wearing a sundress somewhere and a big dog jumped on her and pulled her top down...(showing everything) At thirteen I started drooling after reading that.

  • @saintquinn007 LOL Hey, I'm not 13 and that story is making me drool :)

  • Comment removed

  • It ran at 7PM (EST) Sundays on ABC, opposite "60 Minutes" on CBS and NBC's "Wonderful World of Disney"

  • there were reruns of this show on when i was a kid

  • Was a hoot seeing this old intro theme again!

  • TV Land should rerun shows like these. Good shows with good theme openings should not be in storage.

  • I was six in '77, and this show started right at bedtime. I fell asleep to the sound of my older sister watching this, and hearing the theme was a serious headrush. Thanks for the upload.

  • а по русски?

  • this used to be my friend joels favorite tv show....

  • Brings back memories of high school. Oh to have writers like this again. Shows like this sure beats the CRAP we have now!

  • Wow! This brings back a lot of memories. I watched this back in the 70's as a kid. I think that's when I first fell for Shaun Cassidy.

  • this show rocked when i was a kid(ahead of its time

  • Anyone know why Nancy Drew didnt last longer?Maybe bad ratings by season 2?

  • Buen programa para pasar el sábado

  • great show

  • The only episode I hated was the one where Joe's fiancee was killed by a drunk driver, and the brothers temporarily had an adversarial relationship. All the others were top notch.

  • I bet Parker Stevenson is glad he's not married to Kristie Alley now.

  • OMG they fought like cat and dog on the set of North and South Book 2

  • this is a really well done intro and the theme makes you feel like something really sinister is afoot--as a kid I was pleasantly freaked out. The over design stands the test of time I think

  • @ satyricon451

I agree - I adored that opening sequence, not least for the theme music!

  • @satyricon451 I ESPECIALLY loved the introduction for Season 1........you know, the one with the maze?

In fact, I have every single episode of both Season1 and 2. Extra copies on DVD!!

Iinterested? MY name's RIchard and my e-mail address is: skydiver@cogeco.ca.

The ONLY season I'm missing is Seasnon 3------------when it was strickly entitledl "The Hardy Boys. :-(

    Sincerely,

    Richard

  • Goog Grief. This has to be one of the best composed TV show themes ever. Sounds like a movie.

  • I used to watch these shows every Sunday night when I was a kid.

  • Excellent intro music! Really sets the mood.

  • Such an EXCITING intro!

  • I know, right? Gotta calm down.

  • EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE I love Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys!!!

  • was this show a network show or syndication?

  • ABC Network

  • This was an ABC Network show...

  • @emerytownblues

The ABC network, which aired Sunday nights at 7 pm.

IT could've lasted for EONS.....that is, it they didn't combine BOTH Nancy Drew AND the HARDY BOYS characters beginning in Season 2. In fact, that is the reason Pamela Sue Martin opted-out of the series, eventually.

Oh, by the way "emerytownblues", did you happen to catch the 1938-1939 black & white Nancy Drew movies?? Now THEY were worth watching! So nostaligic with vintage details! :-)

    Richard

  • Fall 1977

  • I loved this show when I was a kid.

  • Me too

  • This must be the season 2 intro. I have that but haven't opened it yet, still busy with season 1. I also love what they did with the books here, fantastic.

  • hey, do you think that you can post a few episodes? :]

  • A stroke of GENIUS from person that formatted the actor's pictures onto ACTUAL BOOK art cover(s). I watched the series and read ALL the Nancy Drew books from the OLD series. I recall the music CREEPING me out. *Where can I get the sheet music for this?*

  • pamela sue martin was my biggest crush as a pre teen.....wasn't she in an issue of playboy?....anybody???

  • Yes, and I think it was July 1978. Do a Google search and I imagine it'll come up exactly what issue she was in but it was in 1978 before her Dynasty years.

  • Ms Martin did Playboy to escape her "goody goody" image as Nancy Drew, yet strangely she disappeared from "Dynasty" (replaced by Emma Samms) and she never really was heard from since, shes not dead as she did commentaries on "The Posideon Adventure" DVD

  • Ahh 70s TV...*tears* I miss it so.

  • Home Keyboard? How well do you compose on your Public Transportation Keyboard or the one you keep next to the deep fryer at work?

  • Ha! I think after I watched this, Battle of the Network Stars came on next.

  • Such an exciting theme song--you knew you were in for something good!!

  • i really loved this show when i was a kid. the brothers in the show supernatural kind of remind me of the hardy boys characters, in the future, of course. thats how i ended up looking. memories...

  • Best theme song ever

  • the good ole' days of being a kid!

  • i have a raging clue

  • ditto

    ninelivecat

  • This spooky music used to scare me when I was a little kid Great show

  • please bring this back, this was a great series.

  • wow...haven't seen this in, like...forever

  • I like the hardy boy series more. I mean this is good but not as good as the hardy boy series! And i am a girl.

  • I still can't understand why remakes are made, when the originals are so good.

  • what year was this? it looks like its from the 70s or whatever, and i never read the book can you tell me who the heck are the hardy boys,i've heard of them but don't know who they are, and what ever happened to bess and george?!

  • Most of your questions should be answered on the internet. Have you heard of it?

  • 1977

  • @akamagent 1977 to '78 or 79. Pamela Sue Martin went on to star in Dynasty for four seasons. She actually left the show during its highest popularity; Joan Collins made some public comments, I believe, on why would PSM walk away from such a great show.

  • @akamagent Let me answer in simple terms . This series neither is for nany nor is for hardy boys because these are combination adventures written by carolyn keene hence if you are a nancy fan you might be liking this series. Bess and gorge come some time in this series do search for them

  • @akamagent 1977

  • @akamagent The show debuted in 1977, and ended in 1979.

  • @akamagent

I don't know the exact year, although I remember this short-lived series. However, it was way before Pamela hit it big with 'Dynasty'.

  • no they should not remake it because

nobody could be as good as

    *Shaun Cassidy (Joe Hardy)

    *Parker Stevens (Frank Hardy)

    *Pamela Sue Martin (Nancy Drew)

I absoultly love the hardy boys and nancy drew

i really like the dracula episode and the Mystery of the hollywood phantom

  • The theme music is a little strange, but I like how mysterious it is.

As far as the video intro, the maze one was the best.

TV Networks should remake this series.

  • I love this series! Especially the Dracula eps.

  • I kknow! It makes me so mad that shes only like 14 in the movie and eighteen in the book! grr. But this is awesome totally put it on hold from the library and cant wait to see it!!

  • Pamela Sue Martin made a much better Nancy than Emma Roberts in last summers "Nancy Drew" movie (if you can call it that!)

  • I agree! :D

  • I love that movie! But, I have to say-- as a Nancy fan, I was disappointed. None the less it was a good movie though...

  • Of course Pamela Sue Martin did

in my opinion they should of never tried to remake nancy drew. i thought the new nancy drew movie with emma roberts was so stupid. i agree, that movie was nothing like a nancy drew episode, i mean the new movie is horrible. HOW can they call that a nancy drew movie?

  • i like the other intro better. the one with them going through the maze! that one was a little more scarier!!

  • I want to watch one of these soooo bad! I wish I was alive during that era. :'(

  • Both series are out on DVD. Check them out.

  • i love this show i have it on dvd i finished the firts season and i am going to get the second one!

  • man. i'm 11 now and read the books. i wish they stilled showed the tv show 'cause it looks cool

  • theyhave the show on dvd, just saying.

  • wow, what memories! Parker was soooooooooooo hot!

  • Thank you so much for posting this - I loved the books in both series, and thought this show was the greatest!

  • Please put more of these on.

  • what a show,i love you shaun,and still live for this show,thanks so much,aHHHHh!!!!!!!!!!

  • oh i love nancy drew and frank & joe hardy i can hardly believe that this is still on my mom taped the episodes when she was growing up

  • I saw the show many times on its original run. One week it would be the Hardy boys. The next week would be the Nancy Drew story. The only one I remember is the one where all 3 joined up in a movie lot vs classic villains.

  • Man that brought back memories. I used to watch this show all the time when I was growing up. Plus I read all the Hardy Boys books as a kid. Thanks for the memories.

  • I would love to see those re-done covers with the stars in the illustrations up close. They're really cool!

  • Great Show !!! I remembered I used to watch it here in Argentina. I was deeply in love with Pamela. Now I´m 34. So many years...

  • i didnt know there was a nancy drew/hardy boys show!! my mom never mentioned it...when was the show around?

  • Late seventies. 77-79.

  • k thanks =)

  • I prefer the South Park take on it...

("I'm getting SUCH a clue right now")

  • I watched this show regularly during the its original, disco-era run. I have never forgotten the theme music.

The hairstyles of Cassidy, Steveson, and Martin reveal that unmistakible, latter 1970s time period. There were a number of memorable episodes, but the one that stands out for me is the spooky, two-part 'Dracula' story.

  • Yeah! The Dracula episodes were good! -- Actually, all the episodes were good, but that 2-part Dracula story was one of the best.

  • I used to love both shows!

  • who was the dad - frank - was it vic morrow? And what years was this - about 1978?

  • Edmund Gilbert played Fenton Hardy, who was always getting kidnapped (bless his cotton socks!) and William Schallert played Carson Drew.

  • used to watch this all the time, and before that watched the Hardy Boys series that used to show on the old Mickey Mouse Club

  • OMG!!! I love this series!!! Do you think you could upload any episodes?!!! Thank you!

  • I wish I could, sorry. Not a hope.

  • Thanks for posting. This was really well done and brought back some great memories.

  • I'm glad people are enjoying it. I can't believe there are so many people remember this show so fondly. I thought it was just me :-)

  • I love the theme song! It is soooo cool!

  • That was so cool. I thought that was actually from the series. Nice work!

  • is there any place on the web to watch these old episodes in it's entirety?

  • God, I use to LOVE this show!!!

  • who's nancy drew i jus looked up any1

i heard her name 1ce so i searched her up today

  • Nancy Drew is a girl detective from a book series, starting back in the 1930s and continuing on her legacy to today. Search her on Amazon and Ebay and you will find computer games, books, and videos on her. (Ignore the new movie.)

  • OMG NANCY DREW HAD A SHOW!!!!i want 2 see it

  • I have the 1st season on dvd and its really good!

  • Yeah, it was a great show. The second season is my favourite, thought. I just got the official release of Season One today, I already had a fan-made set. Can't wait to watch all the episodes (again!!).

  • Not sure. It was ages ago when I did it. Think I might have used WinDVDCreator. Maybe.

  • Did you make that?! It was fantastic!

  • Yeah, just edited clips together from the two existing sequences. Wish they'd used this on the show for real.

  • If you don't mind me asking, what program did you use?

I wish they would have used this too!
