When I was a little kid, I had such a crush on Pamela Sue Martin, Shaun Cassidy, and Parker Stevenson --- my favorite episodes were the ones involving all three on the screen!
I read every Nancy Drew book I could get my hands on when I was a little girl. If this show had been on when I was growing up, I would have been in Heaven!
I REMEMBER LOOKING AT THIS BEFOR BATTLESTAR GALACTICA WHEN I WAS ABT 11 YRS OLD .. IT WAS ON SUNDAY CHANNEL 7 HERE IN LOS ANGELES...... DAM!!!!! I AM OLD
you do realize those book titles arent real. well almost. nealadams just replaced one or two words from the real book titles to make them look and sound bad
This was a network show (ABC) back then there were VERY few original syndicated shows...There weren't many channels in the 70's.... The only syndicated, non-network show that was a flash in the pan hit (that I could recall) was the soap spoof "Mary Hartman"...
I never viewed this intro back then because I completely loved the great intro to
"The Wonderful World of Disney" on channel 4 (NBC here in NYC). I Never missed Disney (This show was opposite Disney on ABC). I remember thinking how Hot Pamela was back then & later seeing her on Dynasty...Back then the Star Tabloid reported that Pamela was wearing a sundress somewhere and a big dog jumped on her and pulled her top down...(showing everything) At thirteen I started drooling after reading that.
I was six in '77, and this show started right at bedtime. I fell asleep to the sound of my older sister watching this, and hearing the theme was a serious headrush. Thanks for the upload.
The only episode I hated was the one where Joe's fiancee was killed by a drunk driver, and the brothers temporarily had an adversarial relationship. All the others were top notch.
this is a really well done intro and the theme makes you feel like something really sinister is afoot--as a kid I was pleasantly freaked out. The over design stands the test of time I think
The ABC network, which aired Sunday nights at 7 pm.
IT could've lasted for EONS.....that is, it they didn't combine BOTH Nancy Drew AND the HARDY BOYS characters beginning in Season 2. In fact, that is the reason Pamela Sue Martin opted-out of the series, eventually.
Oh, by the way "emerytownblues", did you happen to catch the 1938-1939 black & white Nancy Drew movies?? Now THEY were worth watching! So nostaligic with vintage details! :-)
This must be the season 2 intro. I have that but haven't opened it yet, still busy with season 1. I also love what they did with the books here, fantastic.
A stroke of GENIUS from person that formatted the actor's pictures onto ACTUAL BOOK art cover(s). I watched the series and read ALL the Nancy Drew books from the OLD series. I recall the music CREEPING me out. *Where can I get the sheet music for this?*
Yes, and I think it was July 1978. Do a Google search and I imagine it'll come up exactly what issue she was in but it was in 1978 before her Dynasty years.
Ms Martin did Playboy to escape her "goody goody" image as Nancy Drew, yet strangely she disappeared from "Dynasty" (replaced by Emma Samms) and she never really was heard from since, shes not dead as she did commentaries on "The Posideon Adventure" DVD
i really loved this show when i was a kid. the brothers in the show supernatural kind of remind me of the hardy boys characters, in the future, of course. thats how i ended up looking. memories...
what year was this? it looks like its from the 70s or whatever, and i never read the book can you tell me who the heck are the hardy boys,i've heard of them but don't know who they are, and what ever happened to bess and george?!
@akamagent 1977 to '78 or 79. Pamela Sue Martin went on to star in Dynasty for four seasons. She actually left the show during its highest popularity; Joan Collins made some public comments, I believe, on why would PSM walk away from such a great show.
@akamagent Let me answer in simple terms . This series neither is for nany nor is for hardy boys because these are combination adventures written by carolyn keene hence if you are a nancy fan you might be liking this series. Bess and gorge come some time in this series do search for them
I kknow! It makes me so mad that shes only like 14 in the movie and eighteen in the book! grr. But this is awesome totally put it on hold from the library and cant wait to see it!!
in my opinion they should of never tried to remake nancy drew. i thought the new nancy drew movie with emma roberts was so stupid. i agree, that movie was nothing like a nancy drew episode, i mean the new movie is horrible. HOW can they call that a nancy drew movie?
I saw the show many times on its original run. One week it would be the Hardy boys. The next week would be the Nancy Drew story. The only one I remember is the one where all 3 joined up in a movie lot vs classic villains.
Man that brought back memories. I used to watch this show all the time when I was growing up. Plus I read all the Hardy Boys books as a kid. Thanks for the memories.
I watched this show regularly during the its original, disco-era run. I have never forgotten the theme music.
The hairstyles of Cassidy, Steveson, and Martin reveal that unmistakible, latter 1970s time period. There were a number of memorable episodes, but the one that stands out for me is the spooky, two-part 'Dracula' story.
Nancy Drew is a girl detective from a book series, starting back in the 1930s and continuing on her legacy to today. Search her on Amazon and Ebay and you will find computer games, books, and videos on her. (Ignore the new movie.)
Yeah, it was a great show. The second season is my favourite, thought. I just got the official release of Season One today, I already had a fan-made set. Can't wait to watch all the episodes (again!!).
Whats this!?
