Uli does remind me of frank Marino, although Marino has a much fuller sound....what I can't deny is the fact this guy can play some good licks...love that fender strat...

I was listening to a satellite station in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in 1977 and could not believe what I was hearing! The best guitar rock I had ever heard! I loved Hendrix, Marino & Trower but this was the stuff for me. Who the hell was it? Fly To The Rainbow, In Trance & Virgin Killer all played back to back!!!!!!!!!!!WOW! Never knew Uli had ANY promo stuff. This stuff was pretty underground in the US when it came out. I had to buy the Japanese import version of Firewind when it came out.

The lyrics are awesome. He was so relieved to leave the Scorps & follow his heart.

I love the Scorps with Uli, but let's face it, it was a strange lineup.

For instance.

Taken By Force. The song Your Life by Uli. Then the next song is He's a Woman She's a Man. It' goes from spiritual lyrics to lyrics about a shemale.

Oh I was so sad, I thought I would go mad. But now I am free to take you into the fire of the Electric Sun.

Hey Chuck...I have to agree..Dont get me wrong...I'm a Scorps fan, but the musical direction had obviously shifted down to different paths....All is good though...The departure of Roth has resulted in them both doing there thing... which is great music on both parts..Cheers

I bought this LP right when it came out as an import... that was the only way to get it back then. It wasnt released on a US label until it went to CD - which I also have. He is one of my all time favs w/out a doubt. This tune totally blew me and my friends away when we first heard it. Thanks for posting the video.
