ok, i found out the best way to beat it on your first try, i seen this on someone's else's comment, use you force shield and at the same time melee the rancor as much as you can and run away when the shield turns off or the chick shows up then repeat, once i got this technique down i beat him with in 2 min on seth lord

This boss was very difficult. Another way to beat him is to use the Lightning Force Field and keep slashing at his legs. He kept getting electrocuted and he died very quickly this way

the best method that worked for me was 2 active lightning force field then force dash behind the rancor and keep hacking at his legs. then when you feel yourself slipping through his legs force dash forward and repeat the process. i did this on sith master so i know it works

A good strategy I found was when Maris Brood shows up if its safe to do force grip her shoot lightning at her then throw her at the bull rancor.
