Two main points: 1) This video is just plain beautiful to me, as the owner of a rescue pitty. 2) The girl called Melissa in this video is *very* easy on the eyes. Just sayin' ;-)
I LOVE THESE VIDEOS!!! <3 I have been in animal rescue for 20 years, and it's a bittersweet career path for sure. You, kind Sir, with your network and cheeseburger fund are doing great things for the world. Thank you! The videos are amazing. Keep them coming! I'd love to see a "where they are now" update on some of these souls you have saved. <3
@Quietpony - and much respect to you and yours for what you do every day. One can only hope that the karmic reward far outweighs the heartache and challenges you must face.
Nala is beautiful! To those who haven't been around dogs a lot this may seem dangerous, but all dogs have cues you have to watch out for when going near them. I'm pretty sure that Eldad knows what to keep an eye out for. Not once did I get the impression that Nala was going to attack as I watched this, and by moving slowly her rescuers did the right thing. By any chance is there an update on Nala?
What's the update on this precious creature? And, yes, it was dangerous. But, as they were all together was smart. In all things to make a change takes risks. To make improvements you must take chances. Fear gets you no where.
that was a dangerous you did to any strange dog. It could have bitten you hand or arm and you would have suffered the consequences. There were much better and safe methods available. Think more carefully next time.
@strokex1 they did what they felt was right for this dog sure it may have been dangerous and im sure they knew the risks but did it anyway for a great cause! i loved this video and its amazing how the dog got over its fears so fast great job
I'm 20, and I still want to grow up to do what this guy does. I know how dogs react to certain things, and have definitely gotten bit more than once, but it's still feels good to do the right thing.
I hope she finds a good home, she deserves one after her miserable time. I just wish people ( I know they mean well) would not put their faces so close to dogs they don't know.
excellent job to you guys , doing great work, has she found a home yet, im in Canada and my 6 yr old rednose male would love having her as a best bvuddie
@bezimeni2000 I'd give my time or money to a dog over a child anyday. As Mark Twain once said, the more I know about my fellow man, the more I love my dog.
From what I've seen, Eldad seems to have a pretty good instinct for when a fearful dog is serious about lashing out and when he can press his luck, but not everyone has that instinct.
Not to mention that petting on the head and hugging are NOT usually gestures that dogs appreciate. Hugging is a very PRIMATE behavior, but it can be read as a very aggressive behavior by dogs, as can pats on the head. You're much better off with neck and chest rubs, especially with a dog you don't know. I'm not trying to get down on Eldad or his rescue or his mission, I just want to make sure people thinking of following in his footsteps go out and get educated FIRST.
It depends on the individual dog and its mental state (breed characteristics, past experiences, self preference) My ma's schnauzer used to be very aggressive towards me, but once I started asserting my dominance, he began to come up to me, ears folded, and tail tucked down, and wagging, begging for me to "cuddle" him as my ma put it. Now, he sticks his head under my arm so that my arm is resting on his back.
I would just like to second a couple of the comments made recently. This video is very sweet and wonderful, as are all of Eldad's videos, & I think what you guys are doing is great. But I worry that people out there who don't know much about dog behavior will be inspired to go out & copy you & end up really, really hurt. You make it look like all a fearful dog needs is a hug, but often that's not the case. They need time, and patience, and someone who knows how to teach them not to be afraid.
This is so wonderful. I love it. Just one word of caution to kids that want to save all the strays in the world. NOT ALL DOGS WILL RESPOND THIS WAY. If you approach a dog you do not know, get an adult. Dogs will give you warning signs that it's going to bite. This one appears to have given many signs that it was going to and didn't. Dogs bite out of fear. Please Please Please BEWARE. Don't approach dogs you don't know. Ask for help.
Oh boy... you guys were very lucky not to have gotten bit. She was so terrified and lurking in a corner and then petting her on the head and smooching her in the face. I know you meant well and you are proud of yourselves for rescuing her and I am glad you helped her. But, there are so many of your approaches that were wrong. I am very glad this dog was this calm this could have gone very very bad. Next time, please leave this to professionals when you meet a stray dog that is this frightened.
This is so sweet and brought tears to my eyes. If I lived in the states I would happily want her part of my family. I hope she's been able to find her forever home.
oh my gosh... it makes me feel so happy that you took a stray off of the street :') it really makes me feel that one say i want to save animals, this really tuched my heart :3 thanks for helping her...
to the 11 ppl that disliked this is if a pit bull killed a family member a close friend or ur dog those are ur only excuses if none of that happened go die and burn in hell
So you want to see how real men treat dogs? Go back and watch that fellow taking care of the dog. And ask yourself why so few men are dog rescue volunteeers. Encourage them to volunteer as a handler at adoption stands or foster 1 'easy' dog until it is adopted. And the kids will see it modelled for them how adult men should behave.
Id love that dog and take her under my wing and protect it from this cruel world ( if they wernt banned over here), I think people who do that to animals should endower a slow horrible death.
i showed this video to my younger sister, she's only 12 years old and an animal lover. after seeing this, she was super inspired and just wants to go out there and start rescuing dogs :) one of her goals is to one day be a part of Eldad's rescues. Eldad, thanks for being such a great inspiration! people like you have big hearts and should be greatly acknowledged! :) my sister's and i already donated in the cheeseburger fund and i'm donating more once i get my credit card :)
God Bless you guys.. you are awesome, i hope this video be a proof of how lovely pitbulls are.. not only pits but also to those stray dogs who are abused..thumbs up.. i almost cried..
I must admit, PIt Bulls scare me from all the negative hype they get. This brought tears to my eyes to see such a breed of dog misunderstood. So very very sad how that dog and many are treated. What a pleasure to see the outcome of this dogs life and hopefully be adopted by a loving family. I wish this dog well as well as many others. Thank you for helping a dog find its way:)
The way to a dog's heart, a beautiful dark haired girl, and a cheeseburger. Awesome job. My Alaskan Husky went through 3 other owners before I got her... or she got me, not sure which one, she takes up more of my bed than I do. Nice job in the rescue, regardless of the breed. =)
I would like to point out that, just because a dog is terrified of men, it doesn't mean they were abused by a man. Their fear can be based in something as simple as never being socialized to adult males.
@Ten13Grl if thats what you got out of the vid than maybe you should try to watch again. Abuse is abuse, and being left is just in the same boat, so if that is all you pulled from the vid than i wont say anything. You spoke it for yourself.
@scottf78 I was just pointing out that a fearful dog is not necessarily an abused dog, I'm a dog trainer and have kept quite a few of my students from going back into a shelter by pointing out subtle differences, Apologies that my job tends to color how I see a lot of things.
@Ten13Grl Understood what you mean and sincerely if i did make a wrong assumption I am truely appologetic for that. I am not a trainer, but I have rescued animals myself and help and the H.S., see alot there too. Will agree that alot are just terrified, bad situations, either it be bad owners or sadly yet just left. Anyone that is posative for them my hat is off to you. Cheers to you and wish the best!
I also cried, and I am pretty desensitised to the world. As people who are aware that every living creature is a sentient being, lets keep it known to all, for all times.
This made me cry and I do not cry easily. You could see she knew... that her spirit was unbroken. She understood, finally, this thing called kindness. Pitts get such an undeserved reputation.
God damn it I almost cried and I'm not shy to say it... I ALMOST CRIED!
Look at those eyes...
I was seriously bitten by a pitbull few years ago. It was the worst dog related experience I've ever had but I still felt sorry for the dog because the owner was such a big piece of shit. Few months later the dog bitten another person and the dog was euthanized but few more months later the owner got into a car accident, he was drunk. Now he's serving 5 years in a state prison. I say karma?
moving and touching,,, god bless u for the rescue ,,,these poor dogs have gotten a bad reputation but with the right care are loving dogs just like any other one,,,
@shivi004 Dogs can't speak? Who told you this nonsense? All dogs speak. Only true owners and dog lovers can understand their language. The only thing their vocabulary are lacking of words like bribe, betray, abandon, give-up etc.
She was so closed of in the beginning, that the fact you got her to eat was a very very good sign. She much more relaxed and opened up in the end. GREAT JOB!! :o)
@priceoftruth you are clearly a prick then. obviously helping humans is important, doesnt mean dogs need to be ignored, heartless, attention seeking cunt,
@priceoftruth The difference is that 90 % of homeless humans are there by choice where dogs on the other hand are abused and abandoned by heartless people...they have no choice.
@DeadgameXXX Not all homeless people CHOOSE to be homeless I'm pretty sure if given the choice most would not be homeless. I get what you are saying but you should use a better example
@chadizz My choice of words were fine I said 90 % not 100 % of homeless put them selves in that position as where the animals have 0 control and its 100 % human negligence that puts them there. Not to mention the way people are today I like & trust dogs more than most people.
@priceoftruth lots of ppl give to lots of different charity organizations. just like this one if u dont wanna give to this kinda thing then dont. doesnt mean everybody has to do what the hell you think they should or shouldnt do.
Pitbulls are really sweet except some aren't very good with cats. I know someone who has one and he crashed thru a window to kill a cat but is so gentle with people.
I love to go to the pet store when the animal shelter brings over all the dogs for adoption and pet them and then put some money in the donation box. :) I can't wait until I can adopt one.
I cried watching this as my puppy is sound to sleep, at my feet under the blankets. How can someone not love them.. they love us so unconditionally! Lover of 2 spoiled pets!
U r wonderful ppl and she is BEAUTIFULL thank u 4 saving this wonderfully awsome looking pitty. U were a god send 4 her thank u!!!! :) Pitty's are awsome dogs and I'M SO GLAD she got over her fear of mean YAY!!!!
Noting make's a better pet than an ex-cast away. My dog got left in the house after the CUNTS that owned her sold, and just left her there to die. Once you can show them that not all people are evil monsters they have ten times more love to give than a dog that's been bred to be sold. I'm only 21, but i'll never be buying a dog from a breeder. GO THE STRAYS!
There is nothing as sad as a pit bulls eyes when they are sad or afraid. They naturally have a tender heart and loyalty beyond compare. Thanks for what you do! You have a gift that many people don't have, and patience.
Hey Eldad, thank you for the videos but more importantly, thank you for having what it takes to do this. I myself have taken in dogs and birds that nobody else would have. However, you inspire me to do more. I love animals and I love that there is more of us out there everywhere. Thank you, these animals can't speak it but they can say I love you just the same and even stronger than words ever can.
Fantastic video and I absolutely love the kindhearted souls who took the time for this baby. But as a rescue worker pleaseeee never put yoru face this close to a tense, terrified dog, or use your hand so close when slip leashing. It worked beautifully on this girl but you can't trust all non-pit bulls ;)
Yes, this video shows just how vicious Pits are. The mentality of some people that blame the animal and not the human that made them this way is astounding. Thank you for all the work you do.
When they are trying to get her to come out her face breaks my heart. She doesn't know the strength she has. Poor baby, only God knows what she's been through and to react in such a gentle way being the "type of breed" she is only shows you not to judge the breed but the deed.
@eldad75 u and ur friend are so kind... i am hoping and praying that dog will have a good home soon... i am thousands miles away from u guys... thank you for the kind heart... thank you... thank you... thank you...

priceoftruth 2 weeks ago
@priceoftruth you are clearly a prick then. obviously helping humans is important, doesnt mean dogs need to be ignored, heartless, attention seeking cunt,
MatthewLukeRogerson 1 week ago
@MatthewLukeRogerson mkay lol ur calling me a cunt an a prick an im the bad one lololol
priceoftruth 1 week ago
@priceoftruth The difference is that 90 % of homeless humans are there by choice where dogs on the other hand are abused and abandoned by heartless people...they have no choice.
DeadgameXXX 1 week ago
@DeadgameXXX Not all homeless people CHOOSE to be homeless I'm pretty sure if given the choice most would not be homeless. I get what you are saying but you should use a better example
chadizz 1 week ago
@chadizz My choice of words were fine I said 90 % not 100 % of homeless put them selves in that position as where the animals have 0 control and its 100 % human negligence that puts them there. Not to mention the way people are today I like & trust dogs more than most people.
DeadgameXXX 1 week ago
@DeadgameXXX thats not true what so ever lololol but nice good job trying to sound smart with ur made up % rates

@priceoftruth I donate to homeless shelters too. Doesn't mean I can't donate to dog rescue organizations.
bronx43 1 week ago
@priceoftruth lots of ppl give to lots of different charity organizations. just like this one if u dont wanna give to this kinda thing then dont. doesnt mean everybody has to do what the hell you think they should or shouldnt do.

Pitbulls are really sweet except some aren't very good with cats. I know someone who has one and he crashed thru a window to kill a cat but is so gentle with people.

I love to go to the pet store when the animal shelter brings over all the dogs for adoption and pet them and then put some money in the donation box. :) I can't wait until I can adopt one.

You have a gift that many people don't have, and patience.

that is amazing what you guys did. Rescued dogs always become best friends. For the rescue thaygive back so much love & affection. Amazing.
