  • Should be cracker of a game when these two teams play next at Suncorp on NYE. Hopefully for Victory's and leagues sake Melbourne start winning games since they are underperforming considering the players they have rostered.

  • Ante Covic is a legend, he's one of the greatest.

    / Hammarby IF Sweden

  • 2 real goals with 9 players vs 2 bullshit goals with 11 players. Victory>Roar

While Melbourne played well for the match considering they had 9 players, it simply wasn't either teams night. Melbourne were unlucky to recieve a 2nd red card which forced them to employ a defensive formation. I'm not trying to take anything away from the effort Melbourne showed, however Brisbane were simply average that night. They were uncreative in attack and looked quite frustrated due to Melbourne shutting up shop and playing for a draw.

I think it would have suited both teams if there were 11 players either side. Since Melbourne had 9 players they were forced to play defensively for a draw. If Melbourne had 11 players they would have played more in the midfield which would have created more open attacking football from sides. It's difficult to say who would have won if that were the case, since we only saw 1 minute of play with both teams having 11 players.

  • @fyuuor Even with 10 players the victory got 2 goals through, Thompson looked very dangerous. I would have tipped victory 3-2 or 3-1 had there been no red cards

  • @lukegranger89

Melbourne were looking very dangerous on the counter attack, although Brisbane at that point in time hadn't done anything not to show that they weren't capable of scoring either. Archie Thompson that night was possessed, i'd stick with the score being 3-3 if Melbourne hadn't had players sent off. Would have been a great game, just a shame it didn't transpire.
