  • and my notes arent even square like yours... im so confused

  • @NotGoodAtRaving ill make you a short video this evening to show you. will have to be in about 10-12 hours time cos i have to go to work now.

  • @NotGoodAtRaving some problem

  • I cant see how on the hat piano roll you are able to make those notes so small. mine wont let me make them that small HELP!!!!! you can fit like eight notes in there mine wont alow me to do that

  • doesnt sound like reggea at all

  • @xpler reggae. but ok if you say so...

  • Sorry man, but this dosent sound like reggae.

    More like dubstep. :D

  • @essarios34 i guess you've never realised that the drum pattern for dubstep is practically the same as that of reggae. im gonna guess that you like to listen to dubstep and arent keen on reggae. watch the rest of the tutorial and then decide whether you think it still sounds like dubstep.

  • @TheBarto22 they mean sample wise, the drums are to electronic man, it sounds like a dubstep 2step beat, if it were acoustic it would sound reggae

  • @thatsfornoobs i see. well its still the formula for a simple reggae song. saying it doesnt sound like reggae is slightly obtuse.

  • @TheBarto22 oh i never said that, infact i enjoyed these vids and part 2 helped me understand a lot, i had no idea where the shuffling sound was coming from when listening to reggae but now i realize its offbeat rhodes/organs. i was just saying i think THATS what he means, it doest sound reggae because the samples, not the structure. ;p could be wrong tho. keep it up man!

  • @thatsfornoobs ah i see. well you sound like some1 that has a bit knowledge of music structure so ill just say thanks for the support , really helps me out. i like to take every comment i get to heart so i can improve on whatever i know so i really do appreciate it. thanks.

  • hi, i know its probably a stupid question, but how do u get the pattern boxes at the bottom. :)??

  • @nozzawozza98 hey man, thanks for checking out my vids. try pressing F5 , that brings up the playlist and F6 brings up the step sequencer.

  • @TheBarto22 thanks dude. great help x

  • @TheBarto22 Nice video mate...i've got one question for you...when you zoom in on the piano roll..you have 8 squares for one bar...but when i highlight it and put it to the left...i only end up with 4 squares for one bar...using fl studio 10...any suggestions?

  • i have a problem, the low part of the playlist where you select which pattern is going to be played, i by mistake close it or something, how do i open it again?

  • @bolsosinsentido hope this helps. /watch?v=h4or5uHFqsc

  • @TheBarto22 Very nice video mate, but can you send me an inbox message with links that i can download all the packs you have with snares and etc.??

  • thanks a lot very helpful

  • Am gonna check out your part 2 and 3 to see the finished product but this isn't quite a reggae drum pattern. You can check out my Emancipation Day vid (reggae beat i did in FL 10).

    watch?v=wFDkE1TDIQk

  • @dvsjaymusic my tutorial definately is a reggae beat hehe. i checked out your video, its very good. the difference being only that your track has a slower tempo and has no kick drum. im not sure what reggae you listen to but if you compare my tutorial to say the like of barry brown or johnny clarke then you can see that the core of my drum pattern is very similar if not the same. of course the production quality of there live instruments making them hugely more favourable to listen to :)

  • @TheBarto22 It has a kick on every 3rd together with the snare. Here is an example watch?v=MsGQdtc3IOE Ghetto Pain - Duane Stephenson, just in case the link does not work.

  • @dvsjaymusic that track still has the same formulae as my tutorial however the kick is only on every 8 bars rather than every 2.

  • Dude..... pity was a short video... but brow it is helpful. blessssssssssssssssss

  • my effort ended up sounding like fkin ub40 =) nice clear tutorial though fella

  • which fruityloops version is this???

  • @chinglillywong FL Studio v9.1.0 Demo version

  • @TheBarto22 thanks still getting used to it but i think i will ge tthe hang of things

  • how do you get the pattern grid there at the bottom

  • good video mate but I thought that most reggae beats had a snare emphasis on the 3rd beat?

  • thanks this help :)

  • whenever i try to put additional "hat notes" in between i just clods them all together, help?

  • Ahahahah "Reggae"

  • @SumbolV yea? you call it something else then?

  • @TheBarto22 Yeah Mon I Make My Self Reggae Vibe's That's Rumba latin style
