He used the iPodWizard you can get it from h t t p : / / g e t i p o d w i z a r d . c o m / and he downloaded the Ipod Classic firmware, you can download it from h t t p : / / w w w . d r i v e n d e s i g n . u s / c l a s s i c . h t m l remove the spaces. When you get them open iPodwizard then change Edit mode to firmware file and click open firmware then click write to iPod and after press eject but be sure no other programs like itunes are connected with iPod because it can brick.
