  • @WOWjman713 In Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow, the theme song for Professor Oak contains notes very similar to the beginning of this song.

  • 0:06 - 0:11 Professor Oak

  • @JackBond1234 I don't get that pokemon reference ...

  • Am I the only one who remembers the Nutcracker from Barbie :/ ?

  • what notes does the bassoon play on this song? just curious, as i play bassoon myself and love this song as well

  • Tchaikovsky - Chinese Dance - The Nutcracker Suite

...And this song i dedicate to my wife he said...

  • @gupler to bad for the joke, that in reality he was gay

  • @Darknessenceify prove it

  • @hipepleful History... He committed suicide, because he was Homosexual, not exclusively, though

  • @hipepleful In his time he wrote alot of letters to his friend, most of which have been puplished. In those letters it is clear, that the relationships he has with male friends, was more than just friendship. Some letters previously suppressed by Soviet censors, where Tchaikovsky openly speaks out about his homosexuality, have been published in Russian, as well as by Poznansky in English translation. It is true that he was married to a woman, twice, in fact, but it never worked out.

  • This man was a genius.

  • childhood, fantasia...jejeje , the little shrooms xD

  • Esta melodía eleva mis ánimos. Es una de mis canciones preferidas desde que era un enano. Confieso que de todo, era lo único que me agradaba del cole. Algo tiene esta canción que me insufla un deseo de vivir que no logro explicar con palabras.

  • This is my gymnastics floor music!

  • Im playing piccolo on this..WISH ME LUCK!

  • So! You want the grass Pokémon, Bulbasaur?

  • @AFirmKickInThePants then I will choose charmander XD

  • So cute and fun! Just made up and taught my sister a 6 year old version it is soooooo adorable! Nice cuality!

  • Anyone seen a Series of Unfortunate Events?

  • Pokemon Red/Blue : Professor Oak's Lab XD

  • Trumpet doesnt play anything *sad face*

  • this song is so bitchy playing on the bass clarinet in concert band :P "bumBumbumBumbumBumbumBumbumBumbumBumbumBum..."

  • @Aut0Tun3DMice Even MORE bitchy on the Bassoon in Orchestra :p

  • made in china

  • This song is hell to play on the bassoon, just listen to the bace line!

  • @KoryEllisMulees Do you play bassoon? I don't know anyone that play's bassoon. I do. It's awesome, ;)

  • Sound familiar 90's kids? It should do, look up prof oaks lab theme from pokemon red/blue.

  • This song is hell to play on the bassoon, just listen to the base line. 8(

  • @KoryEllisMulees you gotta have some pretty god damn good lungs O_o

  • Oh my god pokemon to the fullest. This brings me back.

  • @gormin555 Hé hé hé...

  • I love classical music and it's great that there are people who can play classical instruments. There is nothing like hearing the whole orchestra live. It's a katharsis for the soul. No Gaga concert will ever give you this feeling. So keep on playing please!

  • I love the clarinet part.

  • @tritanopia me too :D. When we played this for our christmas concert it was wayyyy faster and that part was really hard but I love how it sounds lol

  • I fucking love Grincore, Brutal Death Metal, but none like Classical Music *_______*

  • Stereotypical, western-centric.

  • I always chuckle for two reasons when I hear this.

    (a) This was on Animaniacs once or twice.

    (b) This sounds nothing like actual Chinese music.

  • 中華民族萬歲..

  • i was in the great russian nutcraker and i was a chinese variation! but the song ws a lot faster!

  • I was in the Nutcracker Ballet for the Midwest Ballet Company, This scene was AMAZING!!!! But I must say Russian Background was Awesomer...Mostly because I was in Russian Background...:D

  • wonderful Sounds Crafted from the Hands Of a Musical Master

  • for some reason i think of tinkerbell ._.

  • anyone else think of the little mushrooms? :3

  • @orangebhuddy29 i do!! :D

  • yeah and the end of pokemon silver/gold was taken from my way of frank sinatra//

  • I see where Professor oak got his theme. :p

  • my phone ring

  • I'm doing a solo to this for my ballet recital !!!

  • That's my floor music in gymnastics!!

  • I imagine Chinese people eating mushrooms.

  • Niiiiiceeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!

  • ive loved this song my whole life!!!!!

  • I'm in the second violin section in my orchestra and we do the echoing off-beat string pluckings... which gets tricky and confusing towards the end! Ah well. I love this piece anyway.

  • This has always been my favorite part of the Suite. Even before watching Fantasia.

  • While listening to this all I could think about were those dancing mushrooms from fantasia..

  • @micperson ha! me too

  • this makes me cry wehhh

  • Love this.

  • Oh My look what I found a "Classical Music Channel" Only COOL!

  • All I can say is: "Look! Dancing mushrooms!" xD

  • the germans, austrians and italians might have had many great composers but the Russians had this one composer that wrote the most magnificent music on the planet!!!

  • this always makes me think of a little bird singing

  • One delightful aspect of Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker" is it's adaptability to scores simplified for high school bands. I was first introduced to Tchaikovsky in my high school band and we were able to play music from the "Nutcracker" at our level of ability and make it sound at least somewhat enjoyable. I also developed a fondness for Spanish rhythms from the composition "Amparito Roca" by Jaime Texidor, another good tune for high school bands.

  • :D

    nuff said

  • hahaha why must i think of the joker hearing this? ;-)

  • Lovely mushrooms in Fantasia ^^

    Beautiful...<3

  • I think I love Tchaikovsky.

  • I could never be able to play this on my piccalo. :(

  • amazing that all of this came from the mind of one man!

  • nice,I'm dueting with my friend y'know...

  • imma a horn player and i only play 1 note on this song! O.o

  • @8747800 ._. that's screwed up

  • @orangebhuddy29 i know right? lol

  • @8747800 lol !

  • @8747800 and yet you make the song even more beautiful (:

  • @8747800 And I bet you played the hell out of that one note!

  • @A3neas Oh yea!!! lol

  • Agreeee! :)

  • Tchaikovsky surely was one of the greatest composers and Russians!

  • Hey this is the music that the mushrooms to in the original Fantasia.

  • @ToraQueen lol i always remember those mushrooms when hearing this piece!

  • Ironicly Tchaikovski detested "The Nutcracker Suite" although it was the most successful piece he had ever written.

  • 267 likes this, 12 are deaf.

  • @luckyday465768 What about Beethoven? xD

  • Comment removed

  • @Paulwhoisvegan That's not even funny anymore.

  • @RatedPi whats not funny? aw it was removed and i missed something again : (

atleast the music can cheer me up

  • @Paulwhoisvegan i dont think u realize that those jokes aren't funny these days...

  • I always found it interesting that Tchaikovsky had to compose the music to match the choreography already in place. Of course, it's still great music!

  • This makes being Chinese that much better.

  • ... So THAT'S why the little mushrooms are so asian. Chinese Dance. Good one Fantasia.

  • i just checked its not professor oaks theme, but it is indeed professor oaks lab theme

  • not professor oak's theme, but professor oak's lab theme :)

Look around yourself, you pathetic retard. All the businesses invest in China, which finances the world and manufactures much of the weapons; the "chinks" possess the military power, financial backing, and economic ability to alter your existence.

    Stupid comments get you nowhere

    LOL

  • its a damn ballet, has nothing to do with the Chinese -.-

  • Well it was how the Europeans viewed Chinese culture it's in a way like Chinoiserie. And Europeans viewed them as elegant and had skill equivalent to those of Europe. European and Chinese culture are equally as sophisticated and classy and in similar aspects. I am not a big fan of Africa though no offense.

  • i <3 the song. its the cutiest piece of music in the nutcracker. OR EVER

  • Пётр Ильич Чайковский in russian version :]

  • Yeahh

  • @JaeBallet Why wouldn't they? Jae, don't know if you've ever played the games, but I can say that yes, there is one piece of pokemon music that was clearly influenced by the "Chinese Dance".

  • @AAMLfan I watch pokemon alot ive never noticed it..hm. Oh well

  • @LordOtorai Yeah, it influenced one piece of Pokemon background music. :) I noticed that too.

  • im practicing this song on my flute(:

  • The Nutcracker contains some of the most beautiful music ever written. Agreed? Yes? No?

  • Absolutely - all of the songs are infectiously beautiful.

  • @Bandaids4ever you did nothing. thumbs up for tchaivsky

  • @foilseal I left a comment that people on a whole seem to agree with. That's not nothing. It's not really something, either, but it's not nothing.

  • @Bandaids4ever eat poop

  • @foilseal That was slightly uncalled for. I'll take it as a joke.

  • LOVE THE SONG ^^

  • :) ooh wow. the chinese variation is so much faster then this in our nutcracker. lol. :) i love this dance....and of course the song

  • anyone know where i can find the sheet music?? :]

  • wikipedia

  • love those bassoons and strings

  • Tchaikovsky is my favorite composer. In my eyes the Nutcracker was his best piece. Maybe because it is the most recognized. If anyone gets the chance (if you haven't already) google the original Nutcracker and Mouse King written by E.T.A Hoffman. The Nutcracker started out as a short story for adults. The original had no Sugar Plum Fairy or Kingdom of Sweets. Well anyway the story will give you a better appreciation for Tchaikovsky's interpretation.

  • Tchaikovsky is one of the great composders of all time. He shared the art of dance with everyone. His spirit lives on and always will though out All of the dances he made

  • THE BEST SONG OF THE NUTCRACKER !!

love it sooo much i can play it on my flute

  • i was thinking about learning it on my flute. is it hard?

  • Kinda, it's fast in a lot of parts, but i got it eventually and you can too ! ^^

  • Oh my gosh! I remember this! From Fantasia! With those little...Chinese people dancing. x] makes sense. (I haven't seen it in like, 8 years - but I watched it a lot because I liked it, even though I couldn't appreciate the music back then (I'm 15 now, and I really enjoy the music now...), but I love how I can remember it all...)

  • Generally speaking, I'm fairly anti-clarinet, but the clarinet part in this just... adds a vital, vital texture. Tchaikovsky for the win!

  • Does this seem just a few clicks slow?

  • Just a few. I wish the original arrangement of this selection was about twice as long because i can listen to it for ages.

  • And this is why apple invented the "Repeat: One Song" option. :P

  • @TheGreatTemptation yer, most certainly lol It's making me feel rather lathargic actually, trying to count on it where its normally like an inch quicker. I reckon someone accidently did this after a long night getting the final merch made for a show no cubase ;) :P

  • God I love the nutcracker just does something to my soul!

  • uwielbiam taniec chiński Piotra Czajkowskiego, kurde to "Tchaikovsky" to wygląda strasznie :D

  • Comment removed

  • It's the dance of the mushroom people!

  • wth

  • Um... Fantasia?

  • no, its the nutcracker

  • No, The Nutcracker was used in "Fantasia" and for this segment, the movie had little dancing mushrooms dance to the song. The Mushrooms looked kinda like little people, hence "Mushroom people".
