Thanks for putting this video up. Today I just bought a Snake Slayer from Gander Mountain. I can't wait to pick it up, what a beautiful little gun this weapon is. It of course comes w/the 45/.410 barrel, not sure what other one (barrel) to buy....I also own a 9mm and 22, 22 mag. Any thoughts on this? thx again.
I just ordered another five new Bond guns, with extra barrels for some of my favorite cartridges: 45 ACP, 44 Special, 32 Federal Magnum (also shoots 32 H&R Magnum), 22 Magnum & 22 Long Rifle.
Right now (act quickly - offer is good only through this month!) Bond Arms is offering extra barrels for half price with proof of gun purchase. Check the SPECIALS page on their web site (bondarms-dot-com) for details.
@Gunblastdotcom Thanks! Just ordered a barrel from those friendly folks from Texas. I went with the 22 so I could do some inexpensive target practice with this "little" gem...
Acquired a Snake Slayer about a month ago and LOVE IT! The people at Bond Arms are super friendly and helpful as well. I ordered a .38/.357 barrel company-direct for cheaper shooting, use the .410 for car 'social work'. Put your head in my window uninvited and you'll get your sinuses cleaned out.
Hello Jeff , I've had my SSIV a month now and just love this hog-legged beast. Your review helped me pull the trigger on this purchase , and to all you folks out there that have doubts about this weapon.... don't. I opted for the SSIV mostly for accuracy w/45c , and let me tell you its way accurate. The recoil is nothing like I expected it to be , and all the hubbub about the trigger pull is just that. Thanx for the review and keep up the great work ! CC
do you like the bond arms snake slayer or snake slayer 4 better. Both have the trigger guard but I don't the size comparison. I am afraid of buying the snake slayer 4 because it might be just big enough to be hard to conceal. What's your opinion?
@Gunblastdotcom it looks like it would be almost unbearable haha! I imagine the only time I could bring myself to pull the trigger on that is if something or someone was on me killing me !
I've heard from another video that with the trigger guard on the pistol it makes the trigger difficult to pull because it needs pressure on the bottom side of it to release the hammer. Have you found this to be true?thanks.
I have a bond arms snake slayer 4, with the 4 1/4 barrel , I have been looking for a crossdraw type holster for it online with no luck. can you tell me where I can find one??
One thing people might consider is that when firing from the top barrel, you might want to keep a good hold on the bottom of the grip with your ring finger. If you don't, the barrel kicks up, sending the rebounded hammer slamming into your thumb knuckle. Made that mistake the first time I shot mine, but it's not bad.
I really like your videos. Short and to the point. Not that long ones are bad, sometimes I just like a quick video on a gun and how it shoots. Keep it up man.
hey man... let an occasional poisonous snake go too or one day, you wont have an excuse to even carry a "snake slayer". im all for owning guns (ruger 10/22 mag, remington 22 targetmaster, taurus judge mag, mossberg 500, glock 21/45 ACP... so far and counting) just think that od made all snakes for a reason and man makes a good snake proof boot as well. like the video. love the beard!!! - ben from FL
i agree with you totally. that was more of a general comment for everyone to read and not aimed directly at you. just somethin to think about whenever someone's out in the woods and goin out of their way to shoot one as ive seen many times on youtube... keep up the good work
That's one gun that won't fail on you ever and having a .410 handgun that you can fit into a cell phone case is just scary. A .410 000 buck will mess you up.
Well, Mr. Quinn, I'm thinking of picking up a pocket gun and getting a concealed carry license. I tend to like the feel of revolvers over autoloaders, so for now I'm considering either this very Bond Arms Snake Slayer or a NAA mini-revolver, probably one of the longer-barreled .22 magnums.
I already have my inclinations, but I'd like to hear your take on something of a philosophical question: two shots of big-bore stopping power or five shots of fairly accurate rimfire?
That's a hard call, and you really cannot compare the two. The Mini is much smaller and lighter, but if you can conceal the larger gun, go for the Snakeslayer. There is no reason not to have both.
If I could make a suggestion you should look at the NAA Pug .22mag mini. Those little things are really nice and it's got full sights with Trijicon inserts.
Is it a smooth barrell gun shooting that shot shell or is it rifled a bit to accomodate the 45LC like the Judge is.
Where the judge is not easy to conceal this is perfectly concealed. Judge in the house and a slayer in the pocket. That or keep it as a nice sidearm. Good looking solid gun.
I am almost certain that you guys have a review of the Taurus Judge up on your webpage, but this 45LC and .410 combo made me think of it, and I'll have to check it out.
Thanks again Jeff for shedding light on this one, I hadn't heard of it previously. Poisonous snakes are a big deal here in north Georgia too, .410 should take the head clean off a mountain rattler. Stay safe brother.
man that is a sweet gun and like you said it has its place and purpose. i imagine it would also be invaluable on a hiking/camping trip where you forgot to bring your rod and lures.

Excellent choice. If I'd bought only one extra barrel, it would have been a 22 LR.

You cannot.

With the S&W Governor it "should" come with the moon clips to give the shooter the ability to shoot the non rimmed cartridge...
jokostel 6 months ago
@satchboogyfan
You can however buy a .460 S&W mag and shoot that, and .454 Casull and .45 Long Colt rounds through it.
