@MarshmallowVogt Well.. believe it or not.. lol I got them at the Home Depot! I posted a video a few weeks ago that shows how well they're coming up!
The ones I bought the prior year from a nursery were not very good..only 2 barely came up. So I didn't expect much from the ones from Home Depot, but they're coming up great! lol
Definitely use phosphate for the roots when you plant them (Like you would for potatoes).
@bcgarden2010 It was a grub worm. If you have a lot of these per square foot, then you might have to do something to get rid of them. I looked it up and the # really varies! So far I only have seen a couple.
@jihadacadien Hope the seeds come up for you. Ohh they would love that seaweed too :-) I don't think asparagus mind hard winters...but..I'm not sure about that. I wanted to save that extra year...lol so i bought the 2 yr crowns instead of trying seeds. If these don't take then...I'll just buy them from the store and try something else.
@gardenvespers777 Yeah I went with seeds....even tho it takes more time because I read that crowns have a high mortality rate in the first year...ad a higher cost. But last year my seeds grew mini aparaguses....so if they survived the winter they should be bigger and in 1-2 more years I should be able to eat some ;)
Where did you get your asparagus crowns
