  • The man wearing a coat in the desert had a mental problem.

  • LOL!

  • the man who edited the movie wears 5 dollar slippers

  • Contd..Also, there's no such thing as the Glidecam M2/MA or whatever you called it (I can't be bothered to read through all those pages). Gyro-stabilization has no place in a topstage. Tiffen and Betz make tilting stages for tilt shots. Tiffen, Pro GPI, and XCS (as well as MK-V in Europe) are the top industry rigs. A glidecam operator making twice what a professional op can? You make me laugh! Even the top glidecam can't handle the cameras that many operators work with every day.

  • I'll chime in, having worked as a 1st ac on my fair shair of commercials. NEVER will you see a commercial shot on something of the likes of the XHA1. N-E-V-E-R. SOMETIMES you will see something as inexpensive as a 5d body, but even those are always outfitted with cine lenses. If you think you can work on commercials with a Merlin, you're dreaming. About to run out of characters, see next post.

  • larry david!

  • the rest of the crew ride in a car like sensible people

  • fakin szit ja tam wole air maxy ale jak trzeba to trzeba :D

  • way to give props to the production team!

  • Thats awesome! I dont ever remember this commercial on tv.

  • Brilliant

  • Lol, "add-dee-dus." I thought it was pronounced ad-e-das. (said quciker)

  • so who's the hawt leggy model?

  • @ carmolasdwk. That "100 pound camera" is actually sitting on a tripod. : - P lol. Still funny comment though. Nice. LOL.

I'm guessing the steadicam and the camera combined are 65 to 70lbs. : - )

  • WTF? Adeedus?

  • this is an awesome commercial :D

  • LOL.. hahahaha.. :D

  • nice commercial

  • Good one!

  • suck it!!!

  • That was a sweet ad! But did anyone notice the sketchy masking effect on the guy with the sunglasses looks over?

  • Lol!

  • them this camera cost like 2 million dollars!

  • Some of these comments have provided me with a good ten minutes of laughter. When people don't know what they are talking about, they just embarrass themselves. How does the vest relieve the weight? The vest is specifically designed to distribute the weight appropriately, the two main differences being if you either have a front mount or a back mount vest. The weight just does not magically disperse into nothing... Props to Mark Emery Moore on this spot though, it makes him look cool as f**k!

  • Still got to be the best Ad for the Steadicam ever.

  • nice spot xD

  • Sweet!!!!

  • that was a tight advertisement idea video clip thingy magiggy

  • Very cool video. I love how the camera operator stole the scene :D

  • ahah nice

  • loooool

  • That camera probably weighs around 20-25 lbs, on top of the weight of the steadicam which is closer to 30-40 lbs. so yes... the steadicam operator carries approximately 50+ lbs at all times.

  • First of all, this commercial was shot in 1997. The XHA1, HVX200, or Sony XDCam weren't even available. You can CLEARLY see the FILM magazine loaded into the operators camera. So yes, he is wearing a full steadicam setup, plus a FILM camera which is 50 lbs. Besides, the commercial is illustrating a point, that the steadicam operator, Mark Emery Moore, is, in fact, a professional operator who wears 50 lb rigs at all times.

  • This is no longer worth discussing because you have no idea what you're talking about.

  • STFU SCIR91, FREAKING NERD

  • @professorx55, even in bed?

  • @tupsumato the good ones can film their own sex tapes ;)

  • maybe you should watch again smart guy. if that IS an HVX it has one hell of a matt box and follow focus on it...

Did you not see the giant spool of film on the back of the cam...

    im glad your retarded

  • thank you

  • someone is a little upset

  • Im pretty freaking sure, that a camera that size DEFFINATELY doesn't weigh 8 pounds... And oh look at all the thumbs downs your getting.. =D

  • the vest attached to the steadicam releaves most of the weight.

  • Not really. It distributes the weight towards the core of the body. It's still a bitch to use, as it's made with fluid camera movement in mind, not to relieve the operator.

  • @leafytreeproductions HAHAHAHA ! good one...

  • funny but really it has nothing to do with the brand lol. The cameraman is just fitter and has had training running around with a steadicam. Its like in dbz how u train with weights, if the runner trained with weights he'd be ok as well.

  • yer all nuts. i own a Steadicam Flyer, and I wear New Balance. Besides, what does the vo guy wear? It doesn't matter, cause he's in his jam-jams in his home studio bustin' out mad vo art. Back to the real issue, this smokin' video, these guys get a one huge sled up from this flyer!!

  • the man carrying the 100 pound camera filming the other two men, wears Nike :)

  • the man who came up with this idea wears croc.

  • @carmolasdwk well done.

  • @carmolasdwk Hahahah!!!

  • @carmolasdwk the camera filming the other two men is static... so the men wears Nike are lazy!

  • @carmolasdwk no he was wearing tretorns actually.

  • @carmolasdwk that has to be the FUNNIEST top rated comment I've ever read. LMAO

  • all the shots were so great, it's a pity they couldn't hold them longer =(

(Especially the one at the beginning)

  • i do like adidas

    XD

  • they broke the 4th wall in this one! cool stuff.... yep the stedicam needs to be treated with respect, just got a earful on safety today when we tried to remake cloverfield with it and tried running around with the rig without proper safety precautions.

  • I heard something like that when they were doing test shots, is there an article or blogs about that that I can check out?

  • A tropical reptile in the middle of the desert-- nice touch.

Other than that, superb Steadicam work ;)

  • that was perfect

  • ROFL!!!

  • Only problem with Steadicam is there prices.

We use Glidcam due to price. Exact same effects for a much less expense!

    Hot commercial!

  • If you want a stabliser made from old beercans, get a glidecam. If you want a prfessional tool that will last and perform properly time after time, for 20 years or so, then get a steadicam. You cant charge a full dayrate using a toy stabiliser.

  • Glidecams are growing in the film industry everyday.

Were not talking about the 2000 or 4000 pro stuff. They have the same stuff and quality as Tiffen. People seem to confuse Glidecam when there thinking of those two models.

There are many other types of stablisers on the market our favorite is the M2. Much better than the Tiffen models. These come with a gyroscopic motor head for tilt shots. Nothing beets there stuff. Day rates, are doubled to a Tiffen Steadicam operators rate.

  • There is no mention of this glidecam M2 on the glidecam site, and this gyroscopic head stuff sounds a little bit far fetched. Steadicam own the patents to the isoelastic arm, and they are the only arms in the industry with the isoelastic properties. Even if the glidecam stuff wasnt built like tin toys, it still would not out perform any tiffen product. I have seen the glidecam range up close, and even the top end ones are tinny and badly designed. Tiffen Steadicam are the proper rigs for pros.

  • Comment removed

  • Patents are only valid for 20 years. The steadicam was invented in 1976. Anyone can make iso-elastic arms. Glidecams are only cheaper because they are built for lighter cameras, and therefor do not need to be excessively strong.

  • Oh yeah, and tiffen steadicams come with a little fairy that sits on your shoulder and whispers tips into your ear. Mainly about horizon and framing.

  • oh man that was a good burn!

  • huuhhuhuhaaahuahu

  • hahahha AWESOME!!!

  • This ad makes my soul happy!

  • this is great im sitting here icing my arm from doing steadicam all day lol so true

  • This is a great ad.

  • excellent ad! Unfortunately, large masses

just plainly ignore how heavy and phisically demanding is a steadicam rig.. so the ad's message will go partially lost.

  • this is so true!!! i live in New Zealand were a steadicam guy does the rugby for 90minutes running up and down the field and he also does the pre-match games as a warm up! so steadicam people will leave any athlete on there ass!

  • this is great and so true.

  • very cool!!

  • very cool!!

  • bello bellissimo...come operatore steady, posso capire.

    by

    ...bePPe...

  • lol why arent all commercials this creative?

  • HAHA this rocks!
