I have the BC-302 version, which is pretty much the same, but has a humbucker, and one less tone control. The neck is amazing and is sounds brilliant with light strings. the bass is better suited to fingerstyle playing. I preffer it over my EB-3. I love that it's so light, and it doesn't hurt when it's on your shoulder for about an hour! my friend has this bass, unfortunately, it damages very easily, and is falling to bits. the humbucker cuts out all the noise. it's a great instrument!
@armorfly You are right but I'm not a bass player either. Maybe make a video and show us how to play bass properly. Many people would appreciate it if you are so good player.
I own a stagg P-bass rip-off, and it really sucks XD
The tone knob stopped working after a few months of play, so now its kinda stuck in the middle. At least the thing can stay in tune alright, but other than that... I really need a new bass.
I literally HATE stagg guitars, but I have played one of these basses, and it was honestly suprisingly good! A really great slap bass. the fretboard was lovely.
@9012Music my nut broke too after 2 years but i fixed it with some stuff lying around the house. They are not great quality but are better than other begginer instruments like behringer which have the same price. You can't expect too much from a 200$ bass. I just add a little korg signal processor and it gives it a better sound.
Haha, i love my Stagg BC300, it's the plainwood finish one, it's so sexy and sleek and even though it doesn't give a great sound for slap bass nor is it very powerful, it's a great beginners bass
yeah,i had a bc300 blue..it was my starter bass :D..when you have it for a while you get attached to it sentimentaly and forget its not very powerful :)
Its my first bass (and the last one haha) I just need some bass for my heavy shit. It sound good for me because I use tone port but.. I suppose everything will sound quite good through tone port. I always say - NO PRICE NO QUALITY. Its only Stagg. For metal is enough. Its wee bit noisy if you play solo. So no acoustic ballads!! Only Heavy Metal!!
Teraz dwa zdania po polsku. Troche wysoko struny.
Zrobiona z dobrych materalow. Ja jestem zadowolony. :-)
See, I think what you said is wrong. I own a blue version of this, and I find it's more versatile than you give it credit. It works for rock, metal, pop, reggae, ballads, funk, you've just got to play around with the tone and pickups.
Yes, you're right :-) Ive made this film immediately after purchase and it was my first impression. Im not a bass man. Ive read reviews from others that their first impression was similar - a wee noise because of cheaper electric. Its easy to resolve that. Now I think its very good guitar for all kind of music obviously. :-) (I just like heavy sound ;-) )
@rancidhotmail There are only two ways: The best way is just to change pick ups.
I use just a noise gate. For metal it's enough. I've changed the strings too on Rotosound (swing bass 66). The sound is much much better. Cheap strings included to Stagg hit frets and sound plastic. Get rid of them and buy better bass strings.
Stagg are quite good instruments for the price. I got a BC300 in blue for £80.00ish, and an L400 guitar for about £150.00. My drum kit is also Stagg. Sounds good since it's been neglected. I've only had one or two problems with the L400, but other than that, fine.
i have that bass, can't hear it on an amp, not anthor quality product from stagg

I was looking at this model in a store today (looking for my first bass!) and it had a weird noise as well (as someone commented).
Clerk said it was a pickup capturing "some kind of radio interference" ... Yeah...
