@susliq86 Her lyrics are not about being 'cool,' her lyrics stems from inside of her heart. It may not make sense to you or many other people but this song has a deep meaning.
@ThePsychoGamer1337 this song came out before urban dictionary was there for you to pretend to be cool by acting like you know what things are that people just randomly made up. Any guy who would give someone a "blind unicorn" obviously doesn't know how to use their dick, they aren't even managing to hit the wrong hole, they missed all holes completely.
I love this song! Makes me feel so active!! "You make things worse when you babble on about staying positive and being good and keeping sane and sleeping right and removing my dirty nail polish, you don't think I fucking know that?!"
Olivia is the coolest Japanese/american!! Her voice is so beautiful, and I love the fact that a NANA character was inspired by her. (I don't remember the name but it starts with an R) And this song....is just the Bomb
@UnicornChickenLizard The name is Leyla but since japanese don`t have the letter L they write it with the R but the character wasn`t inspired by her Olivia only sings some songs for the series like a "pay-singer"
Olivia Lufkin is half German-American half Japanese. Not Norwegian. This song is alright... why call it blind unicorn when the title doesn't seem to have anything to do with the lyrics of being "different". I've heard better. >.>
I bust out this song in my car most of the time. It's different, original and fun to listen to. It's a good song to let off some steam. She's my favorite singer!
What do you think? I personally do not believe that there's not a single human in this world who does not curse, or there's a single human in this world that's 100% innocent and pure. Olivia is human. She's a normal girl singing these beautiful, meaningful songs, sincerely from her heart, and that's what I love about her.
When her sister (Caroline) came to perform in Malaysia two years ago, I realize that all these "celebs" are just normal humans, and seeing Caroline up-close and performing right in front of me, makes me appreciate and respect "celebrities" a lot more. They are not tools for the public. They shouldn't be shaped into an image the public demands and wants them to be. They're humans too, just like us.
Sorry buddy thats showbiz m afraid no matter how sincere you are the public doe's have alot to do with the artist being a tool. Matter of a fact if it wasnt for the public the artist wouldnt get exploited at all or make any money selling records if you look at the big picture. I am cynical I know, just seeing the endless razmatazz and all the materialism makes me question the dumbness of humanity in being superficial
Sorry to burst that thought bubble of your's but I would vouch to say their possibly is a human being who has never used expletives in their live's, in the western world it is standard but and in other countries to, but some cultures have no idea what cursing is. and other's think it's a blasphemey.
@Xijn I don't either. I think there are pepole who try to remain 100% innocent and pure -- like me sometimes-- but we are all huimans and slip up. Everybody who meets me thinks I'm that innocent sweet, quiet girl and they're all shocked when I get ticked off because I'm not sweet and quiet then. :)
Do you know anything about her last name? It sounds European, I'm guessing German. I always found it kind of odd, pretty but odd for a half Japanese half American girl.
Not from the netherlands, because I'm from the Netherlands and the name 'Lufkin' isn't Dutch at all. I heard that she is half Norwegian-American, so maybe that explains it?
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! clean version? who needs it. as long as its olivia ill listen to all the vulgar language her mouth spills out.
And this is exactly what I meant by having to be a specific type of person and live a specific type of life. For one if your not half asian who hasn't been to Japan you wouldn't totally get this. I'm half asian who has been to Japan and expireienced a similer treatment. In that no matter what you try to do Some Japanese will never see you as anything other than non Japanese. I really think it's a shame because Japan is a beautiful place that's full of life.
Then she says " You make things worse when you bable on about staying positive and being good and sleeping right and keeping sane and removing my dirty nail polish" again we're back to the whole purity makes the woman thing. Keep in mind that when Olivia wrote this she was depressed and angry. She had been through something terrible that happened to her and got minimal to no help from anyone. It can be expected that she was very angry at the world.
Olivia hasn't released that info yet, and probably won't. But if you listen to her songs Interal Bleeding Strawberry and SugarBloodsuckers you can kinda figure it out for yourself. But you should't worry so much, this all happened a while ago. She's just fine now living her life and singing the music that she wants to.
Then she says something about "Contsructing perpetual halls". Honostly, go listen to the song Purple Box for that. She talks about hiding away because she is afraid of society. Also that can be applied to the actual circular merry go round music and her saying "I'm going to throw up now."
Then she says something about raised by deamons and feasted on by the government. " Japanese mythology often times used the term Deamon roughly for somebody from outside of Japan. Originally It was used for the chinese but was sometimes used for americans too. Again about being american and looked down upon by some Japanese. You know, I love Japan but their older generation can be quite intolerant to anyone who isn't Japanese, I know cause I've been there and put up with it several times.
Then she talks about "Crucifying her beauty Psyche" and "Anticipating heed" I assume that this talks about how she originally wanted to become a professional model and make clothes for a living, but was influenced( probably by family memebers) to take up a career in singing But how she has serious stage fright and how it kinda ruins alot of the effect of singing for her.
@BlueNeko1 My guess would be that her brother Jeff had something to do with it as he wrote a large number of her early songs after D&D and her 2 or 3 early Avex singles
She says " I have my own ways that I stride and I'm not gonna stride along the lines of your fucking guidance." Again talking about the culture, but also about the fact that she was mostly raised in America and has some different opinions than theirs. She says " Fuck the apocolyppse stars and let me follow my own natural guidance. Unlinked from your universe and your curse, immerse in my diverse ways of thinking." The Shinto religion and it's effect on Japanese polotics applies here.
OOOKAY pople I'm going to undergo the daunting tassk of trying to explain this song to you. This song is lashing out against Asian cultures that believe that the more pure the woman is the more attractive she is. Hence the name Blind Unicorn. She talks about "Bickering with the city life" Mainly not liking the cultures or the way the average popel in Japan think. Also explains the very last part of the song.
phoney singer - never went through what she supposedly sings about. just awful. I actually agree with LainGaara about this. Some of you people seem to confuse pop with punk! Idiots all!

BlueNeko1, You probably wouldn't understand the song "Stupid Girl" by P!ink which actually has a very good message to all girls out there and the song makes perfect sense or the song "Hold On" by the punk band Good Charlotte or another great band called Linkin Park, or Miyavi, DEMON HUNTER, I can go on! Don't get me started on how many singers out there surpass Olivia Lufkin. Trust me, I have heard better! You're entitled to your opinions as am I.
First of all, no matter what Good Charlotte labels themselves as THEY WILL NEVER BE PUNK. Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Ramones. THAT IS PUNK. So before you start critizing OLIVIA and claiming a band is punk perhaps you should learn more of the genre of music you supposedly listen to.
Olivia Lufkin is an extremely talented singer/songwriter. If you don't like the song keep it to yourself.
You don't seem to understand the message here. The thing is, you'd have to have lead a praticular kind of life and be a particular kind of person in order to get this song. I could go into a very in depth explination of this song and actually make a whole shitload of sense about it but I have a feeling I'd be wasting my time with you. Anybody who classifies Good Charlotte as punk rock is exactly the kind of ignoramus that Poor Pink and olivia are trying to fight in their songs.
*giggles* your elitist self makes me giggle! plus, the fact that you seem like a total ASSHOLE makes everything better, because i can laugh about how no one really takes you seriously because you're such an ASSHOLE! 8D
You obviously don't know what good music is if it punched you in the face! Have you read the lyrics, it makes no sense! And you think "I'm going to throw up now" is something to giggle about? >.o Yeah, it's clear you have no taste in good music. That ending part isn't even funny for one and it makes the song sound retarded. And anyways, most pop music sucks these days. But hey, it's your choice to listen to bad music like it is for everyone else.
This song soooo does not suck! It's one of her best. And I don't have to be depressed to listen to it either. The ending makes me giggle. It's always interesting to see what people have to say about songs from The Lost Lolli. Beacause Olivia has song mostly pop Poeple get the shock of their lives when they hear punk songs like this. Personally I think she's great either way.
