Small voice. 'though elegant, controlled, and tecnically very good, she works with Strauss and Offenbach. Decisely not for Lucias or Violettas. And leave the queen of the night to Damrau...Overextimated, another Bartoli or Sumi jo.
I dont think she's overestimated at all, it's just that she's played some roles that dont fit to her voice, not every soprano is adecuate for every role, but I think she's great at The tales of Hoffman or Lakmé. Anyway, just my opinion
Fantastica Dessay ! Pero per carità non si metta a cantare repertorio pesante con questa voce di uccello celeste! Lasci perdere Traviata, Stuarda, Manon....etc...Quello che vogliamo è quest'agilità...questi sopracuti..

It comes with a dvd of her lucia! I wish I had a credit card to order it! There are no stores in the city I live in that sell Natalie Dessay cds. :(
