Sorry for being too damn lazy to look up shit up on my own, but is this about the women that died trying to escape a fire through an exit that opened from the other side? That is to say, being on the "pull" side of a doorway that pushed to enter the building...
A friend was trying to explain it to me a long time ago and i forgot the story but that part always stuck out.
@GovmentTookMaBaby i don't know about that exact person, but it's definitely about that fire. the bit that stuck with me was the couple that was seen kissing before holding hands and jumping out the window to their death.
This is quite eerie and haunting, disturbing. In other words, it's exactly how one should react to the original Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire story. This captures those emotions perfectly. Wonderful work.
i like it!

I think the song is about the Triangle Shirtwaist fire, which led to reforms and increased unionization (ILGWU) in the garment industry.
Cornell has a bunch of info about it, including what happened with the 9th floor fire exit, if you're interested.

This was one of the first songs I heard of theirs. I intoxicated my ears.
I remember Melora said in an interview that she always thought the song would go well over the tornado scene in The Wizard of Oz.
