You certainly can.. But Schizophrenia requires a set of very specific symptoms. While Lake \had some of them he didn't have enough of them to warrant a full blown diagnosis of schizophrenia. There are other diagnoses that are probably more accurate for him. But I think you are picking up on his delusional though process... he was paranoid and delusional about his special role in the repopulation of the world after the Armageddon he imagined would happen...

They lack structure and think they can get it by having external structure. 3. There may be unconscious fears about losing control and killing. The unconscious fear creates a need for control; so the individual joins the military hoping to stay in control, believing the military can control him, or help him control himself.

I only found Ng to fit a couple criteria (lack of empathy, failure to accept responsibility for own actions)

I guess that depends on your definition of aggressive. From the material I reviewed, Lake was aggressive, but he was more calculating. He used Charlie to attack the others and Charlie enjoyed doing it. . It appears that Charlie fought with the struggling victims. Charlie's drawings suggest he was quite physically aggressive and violent. Lake was calm and measured, in part because he was working off these delusions that he used to inform his world view...
