If the diseased and already dying dogs were released into the "wild" there's a large chance that they'd still bite people and/or infect and kill livestock.

No dogs allowed (there is one native breed, but I didn't see any) and the cats must be neutered, collared, tagged and kept inside most of the time, especially when the birds have nestlings. While the dogs may be considered pests (and in some cases a danger to human life) those dogs do have a right to reside and be alive. But I am a female between the age of 14 and 25 and I condemn this sort of behaviour because not only is it horrific, humans are not God and do not have the right to choose who lives and who doesn't.

They are taking away all of the coyotes, foxes. and other predators food. Then the jerks cat owners have the unmitigated gall to complain when a coyote gets their mangy cat. My 7 cow and sheep dogs on my ranch sometimes tree a cat and I gladly 'untree' it! :)

No dogs allowed (there is one native breed, but I didn't see any) and the cats must be neutered, collared, tagged and kept inside most of the time, especially when the birds have nestlings. Cats totally ruined a lot of animals in many places, such as Australia. Domestic cats are not even capable of digesting wild prey anymore -- as you say, it is all instinct for them. They can't stop.

Why are people comparing the crisis in the Middle East to cruelty to animals in Ukraine? That is an extremely ridiculous comparison, that I don't even want to get involved in.

While the dogs may be considered pests (and in some cases a danger to human life) those dogs do have a right to reside and be alive. This has nothing to do with eating meat - that's part of the food chain (however bastardised it is through over-farming and plundering of the planet's animals). But I am a female between the age of 14 and 25 and I condemn this sort of behaviour because not only is it horrific, humans are not God and do not have the right to choose who lives and who doesn't.
