  • the girl at 1:40 with orange hair is so pretty!

  • I think that Lolita fashion is a dramatization of super femininity......

  • The way he talks makes me smile :3

  • adult toy shop lol

  • Lolita is cute and looking cute but those girls weren't cute O_o sorry, but they just reminded me that they looked like people who tried too hard.

  • 1500?!?! just for a dolll??? fuccckk

  • lol japan+LA: ninja crips n bloods xD

  • Lolita is the most beautiful style in the world!

  • Your voice sounds familiar. Do you narrate/translate for Cooking With Dog?

  • @chibicheeks78 lol i thought the same thing!!

  • All Lolitas are so beautiful!

  • WHOA! i think the girl to the right at 1:53 is claire belton!! she has a lolita webstore called sweet rococo and she was featured in an issue of the Gothic and Lolita Bible :DD

  • @veronykaknight I think you have Clare confused with someone else XD Clare runs Cute Plush, the girl in the video isn't her :P

  • nice

  • I love pullip dolls!

  • I have no problem with collecting dolls but im sorry, over 900 dollars? fuck you could get so much shit that actually is useful..

  • *0*!!

    that pullip is soo cute!!

  • "I had a polyp removed from my pancreas!" LOL!

  • mother daughter lolita team!?! OMG :3

  • Wow, so many misconceptions about lolita :/ Anyways, those people hardly seem like experts... Some of them were dressed nice though, like the people with the BJD's. I don't really see tank tops as being too lolita- they're just kind of too casual. Yeah, I know punk lolitas wear t-shirts and most other types can wear cutsews, but I think tank tops are a little too far.. That's just my opinion though, I'm not saying other people can't wear what they want.

  • ((I ran out of characters >.<))

And I think it's silly that people think lolitas can't have unnaturally coloured hair ( or tattoos, or piercings, or anything like that). I think it looks really cool. I personally have blood red hair, and I wear lolita. I'm pretty sure that's not just my opinion either. There are many, MANY lolitas with coloured hair, or who wear wigs that are unnatural colours.. I think anyone who's ever gone on an online lolita community would have figured that out...

  • ask the experts on lolita fashion my ass! THey're so itai it's not even funny >.>"

  • A haven for fucking weeaboos.

  • the girl with yellow hair is cute owo..

  • I liked this. This was more about the fashion of the dress, rather than the Otaku culture that tries to swallow it.

  • @ millehiighpie you can't be too old to wear lolli, silly! It's like being too old to eat cake! :)

  • that one lady is wayyyyy to old to wear lolita like way

  • *drools* im totally dying watching this becuz i want one of those DRESSES!!! they're all so adorable in those wittle dresses!!

  • @Apilysal: Thank you! :)

  • lol at the end of the video.. like the doll on the right like" o__o oh.. ok bye byes then.. " and the one on the left like" geesh' ,whatever.."

  • I think everyone can wear lolita, regardless. If you want to wear it wear it. I don't think style should EVER be dictated. it's just... Wrong. Hell, if MissLaceybones want to be a lolita with tattoos she can. I mean, look at how the style have evolved from just being the Classic lolita to having spread into anything inbetween Classic and Gore. Take a chill pill and let people enjoy the style instead of putting them off. That's just mean :C

  • OMFG this is the reason why i hate my fav things going public yes i know that pplz do it alot but they have no clue what its about T.T u dont dress up and walk into a cafe u walk and live it

  • It's so awesome to see a mom dressing lolita with her daughter and the mom looks super cute in her outfit. You can tell her age but she still pulls it off!!!

  • most of them pulled it off pretty well, except for one person....

  • "...i decide a ask da expats!" xD my gaaawd japan is awwwesome!

  • 2:14 killed my eyes >_<

  • i respect everyone has their own styles, past times etc... but i was pretty creeped out at the mother and daughter having tea parties with their dolls in their backyard...

  • 2:53

This is why I hate white people doing Japanese stuff.

O Jesus H. Christ, kill it with holy light!

  • They should ban ugly people from doing things.

  • pardon me but who are you to say who is prety and who is ugly. I mean really what do looks have to do with ANYTHING!!! are you really that dumb??!!some one like you aparently has an UGLY PERSONALITY and try to cover it with shallow images of "beauti" in a vain attemped to gain friends. But wat happens when all that crap is gone? you'll be nothing but a lonely shallow misrable old wich with out a friend in this world. it's sad really. I gess who you conseder the "ugly" people are the lucky ones

  • @FanFicFanx

I'm a self-styled gentleman with a sense of aesthetics. I know what I want to see, and I assume that anyone with at least some taste can respect that. Am I not entitled to my (rather understandable) opinions? Humans have evolved to discriminate based on appearance. Things like deformity, obesity, etc. are all warning signs that there is something wrong with an individual. I don't embrace vanity for the sake of social acceptance, but it is important to be presentable.

  • @FanFicFanx

So when I'm old and wrinkly? I can still say that big, fat, pimply beast-girls shouldn't try to dress in a fashion that depends on a certain traditional aesthetic. All they do is defile the style, and shame themselves in the process. You know what? The hideous monsters who like to rape Lolita fashion are lucky; they are clearly so ignorant of their shortcomings that they take a perverted sort of pride in their wretched appearance, rather than try to fix it - and ignorance is bliss!

  • I love the mom and daughter dressing up together! What a cool mom!!

  • wtf! there like a mix of J Rock and Lolitas...u think they got the 2 mixed up or together by mistake?

  • Some of them look so damn horrible. :/

  • "lolita is a type of japanese fashion"

    yes and no

  • " I ha a polyp remove from my pancreas" ahahahahahaha XD..sorry had to..

  • @xxViceXHauntxx that one totally made me laugh out loud :D

  • I don't even know if I like or dislike this video...it's fun and stupid at the same time.

  • I always wanted to get this limted edtion dollfie doll called black melody, she had white pale skin, beautiful crystal blue eyes, black gothic lolita all black dress, black wavy hair, black makeup, and a little music note tatto on her back, i so wanted to find this doll but there sold out and so expensive and i wanted to at least make one like her but also too expensive i doubt that thell sell more of it

where can i find the doll though

  • 0:23 lol hahahaha :D

  • "she costs about nine..." $90? that's a bit much "nine hundred and fifty" *gasps* i can't breathe.

  • @alexaod about... 1500 on the aftermarket... *dies*

  • @xReViVeD omg! the things i could do with that much money!!

  • @alexaod that was the new price...some of the dolls go up very rapidly...just like porcelin dolls...but they didn't tell you how much those designer dresses for the dolls cost...i'd give you a price range but that would surely make you pass out lol

  • @alexaod that's CHEAP. you should see the prices now, and lets not even get into the clothing, eye, hear, tattoo, piercing and makeup costs for each doll. one of my friends said she spent about $2000 to $2500 on just ONE doll.

  • Ok time to throw my two cents in.

Lolitas can have coloured hair. Sure, half the time the coloured hair is simply a wig but still.

And there are many popular lifestyle lolitas (usually Sweet Lolitas) that have light pink or blue or whatever.

Just because a fashion is based off of looking like a victorian doll doesn't mean you can't modernize it a little.

Hell, I dress in Loli-ish clothing but have tattoos. Does that make me any less of a Lolita? No.

  • @MissLaceyBones no, it makes u a modernized-lolita. WE CAN MAKE IT MODERN! :D good on ya~

  • @MissLaceyBones i agree. actually lolita isnt victorian. like most people think it is o .o. i think thats why they say that real lolita's dont have colored hair. lolita is just inspired by the victorian era. and has a lot of victorian look in it. but victorian dresses were much longer, and they usually wore those huge white wigs. so yeah... o 3o.

  • @MissLaceyBones

Breaking out of the conventions of the trend means that you are no longer a part of that trend.

  • @MissLaceyBones

Wrong. Changing the style means that it is no longer Lolita. Sleeveless tops and brightly-coloured hair are an absolute no-no. From what I can see in this video, the two girls at 1:30 are doing it right. I'd also give a (very tentative pass) to the girl standing in the back at 3:20, and (based only on clothes) I would say that the two with Dollfies at least have a reasonable understanding of what Lolita is about (even if they can't fit the image well).

  • @WiggaMachiavelli Sorry I had to reply but the majority of the girls in this video don't call themselves lolita, they just know about it and sometimes wear the fashion. I read some of their blogs.

  • @Ami19890

If that's true, it's good to hear that the people in the video are not as ignorant/arrogant as some of the people commenting on the video.

  • I know this is a Japanese style and all that, but I can't help thinking that all those gothic lolita clothes would make awesome Halloween costumes. And the woman with the bow on her head at 2:37 Doesn't she goddam look like she's going to receive her first Communion? XD

  • @Stellairisel well, its kind of based off of european wear, lol.

  • Omg :O why not in the nethelands :O

  • That hair is NOT lolita. The Lolita establishment Nazi's would declare a holy jihad against those women.

  • @SunBeamsan They could work it with punk lolita maybe but other than that I'm not a fan. I don't think us "nazis" would really hair that much of a fit over it though. xD

I did think it was kinda silly how he decided the experts were the ones with the ridiculous hair.

I like his sense of humor.

  • i think lolita is inspired from the Victorian era if you couldn't tell, i feel its about being a lady, and those girls with the crazy colored hair are doing it wrong. lolita is not just adults, the brands are not just for adults! i feel it awkward for 40 year old women dressing like 12 year old Victorian girl, but thats how i feel. i've dress like a gothic lolita before and people love it! it should be more popular!

    w w w (dot) lacarmina (dot) c o m (forward slash) blog

    Enjoy!

  • The fashion is cute. The dolls are seriously pushing it for me though. Especially carrying them around in public, and having tea parties with them when you're no longer 7 years old...

  • @theunseen666 as i told another commenter, in Japan, ppl who are Superdollfies collectors actually do have "tea parties", where they exchange anything from info on caring for their dolls, the lastest Superdollfie news to stuff for their "daughters", they also have discussions on other more "adult" subjects. but I guess it's not for everyone, and from a fashion do what suits you. ^^

  • i want the dolls so kyoot!!! xx

  • It's creepy when people older than 30 are into this kind of things. Volks Superdolfies are ok, because they are actually collectibles... but who in their right mind and maturity would continue with lolita when they are over 30? In Japan girls stop at 21, when they come of age, in the rest of the world I've seen Lolitas as old as 25, but they actually look young and fit the part... I myself am 23, but I look way way younger. .. ppl should know when to stop.

  • Call me idiot, but having their ABJDs having teaparties and all, just seems too childish to me .-.

Sorry, but aside from that I adore both the lolita-style and especially the dolls, very cute!

  • @SadisticFruitcake Tht's what older people that collect volks do. there's special karaokes and restaurants in Japan that let you bring your BJD (mostly Volks' Superdollfies) with you. Also, ppl organize tea parties at their houses so they can exchange info on their dolls and sometimes even stuff. Every doll has a story, a name, and a personality, so they treat them like their daughters. It may sound very childish, but it's part of the universe of the BJD collectors.

  • @akissy Oh! Well then if it's like that it seems a bit funnier and better; I just heard the word 'tea party' and I thought of Miss Mable visiting Mrs. Rose and they were drinking tea and talking about the weather (y'know, classic tea party for kids-ish xD), but putting it like this I kinda imagine it to be fun and I wouldn't mind participating in one (once I get my own abjd, that is)

  • @SadisticFruitcake Hehe, I've heard that a lot. ^^ But yes it's fun, because the dolls are there, and the collectors take them to visit the other dolls, and while the dolls are "at their business " (since they are their daughters they treat them like that), the owners exchange make up techniques (dollfies use make up), clothing styles, wigs tips, etc etc. ^^ Of course not without drinking tea and exchanging lastest news and gossip. ^^

  • tea parties with dolls. lol i like the style but i wouldnt go that far out to buy such an expensive ugly doll lol

  • mm... i've done my research in lolita fashion and these girls are cosplay lolitas at best... if not punk lolita... or ero lolia lol

Some of them are doing it right. bit those how have there hair died unatural colors like Pink and Blue and those who are wearing dresses and skirts higher thna there thigh. are either cosplay or ero.. SORRY.... thats not gothic..

  • @anyanime1 Ero-lolita skirt is at the most one or two inches above the knee, not mid-thigh, so not even ero-lolita, but some look really cute as cosplay lolita. ^^ the things with many is that they see lace monsters, or they see brand stuff and they just out it together to imitate an anime illustration or their own imagined idea of Lolita. o.o

  • @anyanime1

Well yes, a lolita outfit should cover the arms and you should wear a blouse underneath a sleeve-less dress or top, but in Summer, when it's really hot, I've seen sleeveless girls even in magazines for lolita.

Also, what makes you think lolita can not dye her hair the way she likes it?

Sheesh, you can judge when you prove that you dress better!

And yeah, the person who uploaded the vid called it Gothic lolita, but there are all kinds of lolies here.I love punk! ^^

  • @KirPciukas sorry. I'm not saying at all that i can dress better... i'm far from lolita (person who only does it on weekends>.<) and ero is a typ of lolita. but they were calling it goth. and the thing with dyeing hair is that the whole image of lolita is to be elegant and natural... unless you want to do punk or ero at least. but i like to call punk loli more visual kei. and yes there are all typs of lolita.

  • @anyanime1

i know all types of lolita, kay?

and i also know, that lolitas can have their hair in any color they want it to be!It was said, that a lolita's hair can be any color, even the very bright, unatural ones.Only a lady-like,old fashioned image is more popular,so most lolitas have natural color hair. But, for example, sweet lolitas very often have huge pink or blue hair, like the deisgners of 'baby the stars shine bright' have too!But not only amaloli is like that.Mana sama had blue hair once.

  • @KirPciukas mana-sama is more aristocrat than lolita but he is very pretty! :)

  • @anyanime1 isn't there a type of lolita called aristocrat?

mana sama is an elegant gothic lolita. the EGL therm came from him and I'm sure you know about his clothes brand. ;)

NE, mana sama is a beauty~

  • @KirPciukas yes.

  • @KirPciukas i have seen there hair different colours as well but some of the girls looked like they had J Rock/Visual Kei fashioned hair as I have never seen a Lolita with rainbow clownish hair as like one of these girls had, it doesnt resemble a very elegant or 'cute' look which is all part in parcel with the different styles of Lolita

  • @anyanime1 I ran out of letter.

But I am not done yet. These are not ero lolies!! Sheesh... MAXICIMAM and all other famous lolita brands offer simple t-shirts and even sleeve-less shirts sometimes, just with cute prints. You don't have to wear a dress all the time! It doesn't make you an ero lolita for walking with a sleeve less lolita dress in a hot summer day and it doesn't mean you're no longer a lolita if you wear a plain shirt one day! (those are brand ones i think).

  • @anyanime1

well, i'm sorry for being so rude anyway! I just don't agree with you on something, but else, I'm gald you enjoy lolita fashion! It's just all my oppinion. XDD

  • I want a BJD so bad, but damn that $500+ price tag!

  • @meganekko Why don't you try a korean or chinese site? I've heard they have them much cheaper, but still good quality. o.o i personally would buy off an US retailer. i wouldn't dare spend 60,690 yen on Megu (my fave doll) who only inclues wig, slip and panties, no matter how beautiful she is. T_______T

  • wow some of these chicks are sad, but some are very hot so i can forgive them. :P

  • lolis <33

  • at 1:30 she's pretty looks like my yuki ='( i miss her

  • "i had a polyp removed from my pancreas" hahahaha

  • @celerycoloredcarrots Hahaha she didn't seem to take the joke very well.

  • Has anyone ever really been far even as decided to use even go want to do more like? I've been further even more decided to use even go need to do look more as anyone can. Can you really be far even as decided half as much to use go wish for that? My guess is that when one really been far even as decided once to use even go want, it is then that she has really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like. It's just common sense.

  • w il carnevaleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee cazzo ke gente rincoglionita che cè al mondo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MissSpritz90 IT LOOKS SOOOOOOOOO COOL

  • are they all ero-lolita or decora ?

this don't look like sweet lolita or gothic lolita.

I know there are several kind of lolita, but I think their should be none. (maybe ero) They are fashion-lolitas, it does not understand the true meaning behind the clothes...

  • @theicekitsune They just don't understand their subcategories. A lot of them are Visual Kei, Decora, and under dressed Ero-lolita or sweet Lolita. For having such high quality dolls, they don't up-play on the clothes.
