  • Nice tone, how do you like this ones compared to the Throbaks?

  • @nicolasrivera I think the T-backs are as close to PAF's as you'll get today. I think Ian's guitars are killer hand made pickups that while owing a lot to PAF architecture, have a little more of their own thing going and sound great with his guitars.

  • You play and sound beautiful . Old soul dude . I have 2 question but first ; I have a LP with gibson 490t & 490r Pups . I use D'Addario exl115w strings . Presently , I have a Carvin V16 amp. I am brand new to recording video and sound . First timer ! I have a presonus fire studio mobile , Presonus pro one 2 DAW and Sony Vegas movie studio platinum suite 11 software . And 2 Crappy mics . What Mics should I use on my combo amp so it sounds full and not tinny ? What the best BLUES amp with a LP ?

  • @hutchfromba Thanks very much. Sorry for the tardy reply...I'd use a close in mic right off the speaker and an ambient or room mic to get some room sound to blend in and make your recording sound livelier. I use Shure M57 and M58. The best BLUES amp with a Les Paul....oh man...it depends so much on how you play. My favorites are black face Fenders...with reverb or a simple circuit like a Tweed amp or Early Marshall JTM45!!!

  • Hey Dan, love the sound, sure would like to here this guitar with some good backing tracks, Blessings my friend.

  • Dan, it's good to see an new video from you. Made my evening. You're sure getting some sweet 'old school' tones from that new IA of yours. That guitar and the Germino make for tonal bliss. Best wishes, T

  • Alright Dan I love that old FREE song! Damn like I needed anymore encouragement from another "OWNER" of one of Ian's "BADASS STANDARDS"!!HA!HA! Man Ian's pickups really NAIL the "CLASSIC ROCK TONES" that I have carried in my head since the early 70's! I just can't see how I am going to get by without one of Ian's STANDARDS! GEE! Thanks Dan!:-) You are going to be largely responsible for me coming up with $4500 somehow!

  • good sound !!
