I loved Richard Kiley in the movie so cute and handsome but I didn't like the abrupt forced ending. Throughout the movie there were too many warning signs for me that Jean and Sam were not ready for the next step. To me Jean was just as much at fault for dwelling on things from 35 years ago as Sam was for being too self reliant and You shouldn't have to beg someone to marry you like he does. What should have happened was them taking more time to be sure but oh well.
