  • i've seen some guys arguing about the grooviest riff from meshuggah, i think every song is sick... every single one... is pure groove

  • The beauty of something like this goes over way too many people's heads

  • @uberepicdeathkill Agreed. It's a sad thing.

  • @uberepicdeathkill Agreed. It's a sad thing.

  • Sverige

  • This song alone makes me want kick shit the fuck over and mosh reallllly hard

  • sooooo much groove

  • I FUCK TRANNYS TO THIS SHIT?!!?!

  • Instrumentally this is one of the coolest sounding fucking bands ever. The singing is awesome too, but fuck. The heaviness of the instruments alone is just amazing.

  • i listen to this song everytime when i feel like a boss!!!!

  • heavy fucking song

  • one of the best Meshuggah songs. I love this re-issued version slower and heavier with those 8 strings going. Need more of this shit in future! Same thing with the re-issue of D.E.I.

  • this song is so fucking meshuggah

  • This version is different and cool.

  • To me, this track is a pretty good example of what Meshuggah is all about.

  • @MasterDonut Pretty good example? I'd say THE example.

  • @ErraticReviews Just checked your channel and had a listen to Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, never heard of them before! Honestly, they literary just blew my mind away! :) Great stuff!

  • @MasterDonut The song wasn't on youtube, so I figured I'd upload it. Glad you enjoyed. :)

  • So Heavy!

  • breakdown @ 2:09 tears every single other breakdown in history a new one.

  • @LWRCftw its a toss up between this and the breakdown in lethargica

  • @neilorourke71 Dehumanization was the best and greatest ever ness

  • @BenjaminKuruga So I've heard. In three different comments on this video, all from you.

  • @p2psux5 I think that was an accident, but still the truth.

  • @BenjaminKuruga personally i like entrapment most on the album, and in death is death

  • @p2psux5 Cool. In death is death was a scary song ^-^

  • @BenjaminKuruga i think shed is a really cool expiremental song. that whole album is a total mindfuck

  • @LWRCftw except for the breakdown in catch thirty three right after the soundtrack to my failure part. I still believe that might be the world's best breakdown in sense of utter heaviness.

  • @CoolCoverBro Dehumanization has the heaviest breakdown in existance.

  • Dehumanization has the heaviest breakdown in existance.

  • @BenjaminKuruga also the breakdown in lethargica is downright fucking awesome

  • @AlexXxtestify Dehumanization had the heaviest most groovy breakdown of all though ^-^

  • The outro starting at 4:38 has got to be some of the best riffage Ive ever feasted my ears upon. Can never get tired of these guys.. EVER

  • @xNewAeonx I know, right? Meshuggah's an addiction for which the only cure is More Meshuggah. If I could die, I would die happy. Too bad Meshuggah causes permanent life, in which the polar opposite is Chuck Norris..

  • @xNewAeonx same outro you mentioned reminds me of Catch Thirty Three.

  • The Reality of the Dream

  • @Fleshphantom Could just call Meshuggah ...Metal ...or just Meshuggah

  • @BenjaminKuruga I already do. ^.^ I really do.

  • This song is the sound satan makes when he masturbates

  • I believe the official name of the genre meshuggah is in is Technical Death Metal. But to be blatently honest, who could truly put a genre on Meshuggah. It's the most strange yet most brutal band i know of.

    \m/ Meshuggah \m/

  • @Demanufactur3 i've heard it been called djent. i think that's the official title of this genre. along with bands like periphery and animals as leaders.... but who gives a shit

  • @mittensandfobeo

Djent stands for the tone of the guitars (Medium to high gain) and leaked over to what some people believe is a genre, my earlier statement wasn't completely correct however. Meshuggah can be put in many genre's depending on the album. (Here come a few genre's they'd fit into)

Trash (first album) Post-trash death (second album) Technical death metal, Avantgarde/death metal and ofcource! Heavy func (snap* snap*) (okay i might have made that last one up)

    Legion.

  • @mittensandfobeo no djent is just a term used to describe the sound of the guitars because of the high gain and really low tunings. Meshuggah and Animals as Leaders are Progressive Metal

  • @Headbanger9000 Animals as leaders are progressive metal, Meshuggah is Meshuggah,

  • @BenjaminKuruga hahaha true no one sounds like Meshuggah

  • @Headbanger9000 Exactly!

  • @Headbanger9000 Meshuggah is Meshuggah.

  • you guys are wrong, 1 person couldn't handle this fucking song and pussied out 30 seconds in.

  • Imagine this shit in slow-mo... epic

  • @mee11mee

This (most of it, at least) is actually is the slow-mo of the original 2002 version :P

  • who the hell disliked this?

  • @N0SLAV3 yngwie malmsteen

  • The perfect soundtrack to fucking your boss daughter in the ass.

  • @NeuroHead how young are we talking here?

  • fuck this is aaaaawwwwweeeeessssommmmmeeee

  • 1 person would rather listen to Rebecca Black...

  • 1 person had a slumber party at justin bieber's house

  • My balls started dropping at 2:07 and didn't stop till the end

  • lift me up higher in this moment

  • lift me up higher

  • Messhuggah is the only band in which all the members play to their own arbitrary time signature and are able to pull it off.

  • Meshuggah are so poor...They have 1 dislike while Rebbeca Black has millions of 'em! XD

  • Its like mushrooms in the translated into the form of music lol.

  • 1:17 "Flavor-Ice!!"

  • @nemesiskorn I mean I'm a huge Acacia Strain fan, as I think they totally dominate their genre, but Meshuggah is in a league of their own. Glad I'm a big fan of both bands, and that I can appreciate TAS's Meshuggah influence.

But I realize TAS is hit or miss with people, sorry you think they sucked lol.

  • You can really tell The Acacia Strain got some influence from this song. Not that I dare compare the 2 musically as they worlds apart.

  • viking metal is truely the shit.

Meshuggah can not be ripped off, not in the proper way at least

  • Comment removed

  • @bloodyrockfire

this isn't even remotely close to viking metal.

  • 1 person was vapourised in a nebula

  • whats the tuning in this song?

  • @giodruma99 They use 8 string guitars dropped a half step from standard.

  • @42themeaningoflife thanks, because its really hard to tell if this is in Drop E or something else. Or Drop Eb I really can't tell

  • @giodruma99 Drop E? what?

  • @N0SLAV3 The equivalence to Drop D on a 6 string guitar?

  • @N0SLAV3 its drop d almost an octave lower but on an 8 string guitar.

  • @N0SLAV3

NO!!! don't listen to those idiots, they have no idea what they're talking about. they take the standard tuning on an 8 string guitar and tune it a half step down. watch?v=rR7qSHp2-lo they even explain in this video, they don't tune to drop d, that would mean just having the e string or the f# string tuned down one whole step and the rest of the strings remain the same. it goes F Bb Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb. that's the tuning that they use.

  • @N0SLAV3

continuing: well, unless they're talking about this song exclusively, and now that i think about it they probably are. i know that the lowest string in this song is in Eb and that's a whole step down from what they usually do.

  • Anybody else get that retard from Google with his stupid ass flute before listening to this?

  • Tempo sucks. The 2002 release is *just* faster, probably 10 -15 bpm. The original sounds better.

  • @rage1331 I played them both simultaneously, they both start and finish at the exact same point.

I thought they were different tempos also but I proved myself wrong.

  • Tempo sucks. The 2002 release sounds better, and its probably only 10 -20 bmp more.

  • I wonder what would happen if you played this song beside the Large Hadron Collider whilst dividing by zero?

  • @CyanideSovereign That would be metal as fuck,,while fightng a black hole

  • @jakeen229 I think maybe someone already tried. The cover-art for this album is a photograph.

  • @jakeen229 I just measured Meshuggahs awesomeness. Sadly it reaches to Inifity [Squared] and then turns into a paradox that I can't figure out

  • 3:12 - 3:55 is staggering

  • @dying8 The part after that is colossal as well. Slow, planetary destruction.

  • PFFT! Drop 0Hz mutha fuckaz.

  • this song is chunky and sludgy as fuck. gotta love meshuggah

  • @lamb666ofgod666

    lol XD

  • ONE FUCKWIT WILL GET HIS BALLS GROUND INTO SAWDUST

  • <3 fucking hell.

  • That song's so heavy several extra atmospheres materialized above me. My house collapsed and I can barely breath, but worth it.

  • @CyanideSovereign Shit yeah it's worth it.

  • You know what? Just amazing.

  • most underrated meshuggah song

  • This is fucking trippy...

  • Although meshuggah is not doom metal, they utilize doom metal's motto here..."Tune low, Play slow."

  • @Meinfuss1 I don't like doom metal bands, but somehow I love slow low tuned songs like this, maybe I'm just weird, or I wanna create a new music style, MANLY DOOM METAL! I don't know...

  • @murilospecht That is exactly how i feel!

  • @murilospecht Hellyeah do it man! As long as it rattles the shit outta my sub-woofers! LOL!

  • In dreams, it speaks to me of the truth that means reality...

Reality is a dream heavily reinforced/manifested through physical law. So follow your dreams, or live a life of misery!

  • @Meshuggaaaahhhhh REE-AHH-LUHH-TEE!!!

  • this is in like drop negative E

  • @imperfection32 Lmao dude, thats funny shit.

  • 2:20 HOLY SHIIIIIT

  • wait. its a 7 minute song and ridiculous tuning. maybe if it's sped up double speed we can hear what they actually recorded :D

  • @Sacla13 Lol you can find the original. but this wasnt sped up, they just re-recorded it and made it heavier.

  • ok there's speed metal, but i've never heard of super slo-motion metal before. meshuggah. pushing the boundaries of music once again.

  • @Sacla13 haha ik man. im thinking maybe one day the band will be like "screw the system as a whole, im playing with my feet"

  • This song sounds like the guitars were tuned down to the brown noise to play it. Great song, though, one of my favorites on perhaps my favorite album.

  • @Slayer21394 HAHAHHA south park XD the brown noise

  • This is what Satan sounds like when he busts a load all over Mary's face.

  • @joshplayin111 hahha damn dude

  • OMGz dis song requires extra extra f**kin sloooow headbangz yeah \m/

  • @JosephTheMetalKid Dude reading that i could have sworn you were Toki from Metalocalypse.

  • @AngstRiddenDreams hohoho

    I may be! :)

  • WAH dun dun dun WAH dun dun dun dunnnnnnnnnnnnn....

  • @slowblood99 Djent dun dun dun Djent dun dun dun dun..

  • my face is in a permanent >:| when listening to meshuggah, gets me so goddamn pumped.

  • Meshuggah normally plays a half step down on 8 string guitars (F-Bb-Eb-Ab-Db-Gb-Bb-Eb). However this song, as well as a few others from the Nothing album are in Drop Eb (Eb-Bb-Eb-Ab-Db-Gb-Bb-Eb). Yet, Spasm takes the cake with it's ultra low Bb0 tuning (Bb-F-Bb-Eb-Ab-Db-Gb-Bb)...essentially the LOW Bb is the same pitch as taking the lowest string on a 5 string bass (B0), and tuning it down a half step.

  • this song puts the most maniacal smile on my face.

I love it. This tempo makes the sway of this tune haunting.

  • The guitars are so fucking fat. Disgustingly brutal sound they have created.. sounds like God stepped in an ocean of tar.

  • HOLY SHIT!!!

    MESHUGGAH INVENTED DINOSAURS!!!!

  • If all the chinese people would play this motherfucker at the same time the earth would jump out of orbit and the sun die.

    HAIL MESHUGAH!!!!!

  • @NeuroHead btw why chinese people?

  • @dablacksolja

With just over 1.3 billion people (1,330,044,605 as of mid-2008), China is the world's largest and most populous country.

As the world's population is approximately 6.7 billion, China represents a full 20% of the world's population so one in every five people on the planet is a resident of China.

China's population growth has been somewhat slowed by the one child policy, in effect since 1979.

  • My ass hairs are on fire nuff said

  • Lower than the lowest isn't low enough!!!

  • So much better then the original.

  • @ScrewLimbBizkit I disagree. This is a little bit too slow at some parts that should have been kept the same.

  • this music makes you feel like theres a giant jumping in circles around you

  • my face busted when the opening riff played

  • Dun DUNDUNDUN dun DUNDUNDUN

  • love the opening riff.

  • I wonder if this could have the power to pull me out of a bad trip...

  • @theflyingscudman more like pull you into one

  • (L)

  • this is what EPIC sounds like :D

  • ###new challenger#### the crowd goes wiled .

omg ppl chuck noris is down for the count!!! its all overrrr!!! lol i luv the beginnin'

  • lidless eyes twitching beneath a sheet of rot, they reach out. they want to kiss. it matters not.

  • devastating

  • 5:03

they tuned their guitars down to low K# to play this part

    lol

  • Eb+Bb+Eb-Ab-Db-Gb-Bb-Eb.

    Some fucking gnarly djent.

  • no, it's holyfuck# tuning

  • haha

  • @DanteLeblanc

     F-Bb-Eb-Ab-Db-Gb-Bb-Eb

  • I thought they dropped this track? It sounds like it.

  • i know they have tuned down to and octave below Eb, but i always read it stayed in a standard tuning progression, but i could have read a lie, so either or maybe.

  • I'm quite sure that this track is tuned to drop Eb, but they do mostly tune to F standard.

  • @Caconymic

It's just their 8-string guitars tuned flat, which would have the bottom string be an F.

  • rofl K# hey?

  • @immortalx50 K!? wtf? hahahahaha

  • @immortalx50 Fuck K, I would go with Z Flat.

  • @slowblood99 its Simple ,E

There is no K or Z

  • @Toxicity1987 lol? it's a joke, idiot

and its not E, its Eb or actually I think a low low D for this song

  • @TheFearAsylum Eb sounds like... and that would make sense because they usually use the bottom F and that's a whole step from F

  • Thanks for the tip dumbass.

  • @immortalx50 HAHAHAHAHAHAHA low K# HAHAHA epic shit dude xD i rofled

    meshuggah ftw \o/
