  • I'm fifteen, and I think Yamato is the greatest!!!

i got the new live-action movie for Christmas, and I've always wanted to find something like this!!!!

    ^_^

  • Ok i found it when this was taped , it was the concert from 1984 ,

    Conductor: Naoto Otomo

    Piano soloist: Kentaro Haneda

    Violin soloist: Tsugio Tokunaga

    Vocalist: Kazuko Kawashima

May 4 , 1984 at the Postal Life Insurance Hall in Gotanda, Tokyo.

It was a world-class performance that provided Yamato with a glorious finale. 1,800 fans from 12 to 24 years old were chosen by lottery to attend. Since it was recorded on video, formal dress was required.

I found data on starblazers com

  • Was looking for the orchestral sound track for this series for a while. So much production for a rather cheap looking cartoon. Then again both Lupin the 3rd (Yuji Ono) and Astroboy 1981 (Shigeaki Saegusa) are my fav soundtracks. I love 70's music.

  • Japan rules!

  • Ah , when i listen this, i remember those guys from real Battleship Yamato, i cant but to cry, i love Japanese to much .

  • Just saw the new live action Yamato movie. It was great! I'll do a post on J-List soon (actually did one already if you're a reader of my blog), peterpayne . net.

  • @jlistcom

    It's already released? When?!

  • maravilha de video e musica!

  • beautiffull

  • this is simply an incredible performance for an animated series that was way beyond it's time. Thnnk you to those who were responsible for the creation of this incredible series.

  • beautiful

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • Is this Naoto Ohtomo and the NHK Symphony Orchestra?

  • THE BEST!!! amazing story, have loved this since i was a kid running home from school to watch this.i perfer yamato in its original japanese format, hope the live action movie still retains this great music...

  • @MrYamato67 GREAT POST MY FRIEND...YOU SUMMED THIS UP FOR MILLIONS OF PEOPLE I'M SURE...I KNOW I'M ONE OF THEM

  • @DartsRme312 thanks!! im 42 and still cant get enough of yamato!!!

  • Hollywood would screw it up so much!!! There was talk a while ago about doing it...one idea was to change it from the Yamato to the Arizona...this was when it got canned.

Although it would look fantastic with todays visual effects...Hollywood would F@#K up the story...they always do. Leave it be! If it aint broke, don't fix it!

  • I forgot how much I missed this song. Is this concert on DVD?

  • Quite possibly the best story, told in an animated format. I wish that Hollywood had the courage to buy the rights, and make a live action franchise out of it. Untapped potential!

  • Do you know that Japanese movie company will create a live version? Planned to play in 2010.

  • @moneybagzz Please don't give them any ideas. All they would do is screw it up royally. I mean look at what they did to Battlestar Galactica. I absolutely hated what they did to it

  • @arthos13 What? By making it watchable and relevent?

  • @moneybagzz There's a big Japanese version coming out, which you might know about by now. Disney had the rights in the 1990's and were going to change the ship to the USS Arizona, sunk at Pearl Harbor (seriously!), but it never came about. The rights to the property reverted to the original owners after that.

  • @bluechao

Hate to say this, but USS Arizona ain't got the look to qualify as a space battleship.

But if it was USS Iowa, that's different. It's got that long front section that can be fit with the Wave-canon.

Then again, none of the Iowa-class ships ever lost during the war.

  • @AlexSDU I think the arizona actaully does! With that small slit bridge like some sort of spacecraft

  • @galloway62042009

Really? Man, I gotta take another look at Arizona's pictures again. Just to make sure.

  • @bluechao Thank god! I read the script that was posted on line. I'm glad it sank like the Yamato, Arizona, etc lol. That movie would have been a colossal embarrassment.

  • Scooby Doo is a damn cartoon! lol

  • Very nice! Where did you get this? Thanks for the upload.

  • never will there be anything like this

  • Welcome to Iscander !!

  • finally you reached Iscandar.

  • maravilhoso

  • They don't make stuff like this anymore.

    CLASSIC.

  • yamato forever!!! thanks so much, I´m really grateful for this!!

  • :p pffft! Star Blazers forever! ;) hehe

  • THANK YOU so much for sharing these rare pieces. It's truly "THE Most Beautiful"!! A person says here in Japanese, "I feel my heart being washed." I agree with him/her.

  • There will never be another story quite like it. If and when they do a live-action version movie I hope they don't ruin it. The idiots at Disney almost did.

  • Great symphony for a beatutiful spaceship & cartoon...!!

  • It's not a damned cartoon!!

Cartoons are a specific type of animation, NOT all animation is a cartoon. All Whales are mammals, NOT all mammals are whales.

  • 心が洗われます。

  • Awesome!!

  • これは本当に美しいメロディだと思う

  • 素晴らしい

  • Kono yaro.

  • finally you reached Iscandar.

  • おおっ!!
