  • I wonder where I can find a termite mound handy

  • Always listen to the fat survival experts. They apparently know what they're doing. ;)

  • @TheWettBandits LOL..

  • Mosquito bites are painful?....

  • @DjRefunction el dolor de la picadura es poco comparado con el dolor de las enfermedades que pueden transmitir (busca Tropical diseases) ademas existen moscas (busca cutaneous myasis) que es importante repeler.

  • 0.38 is like hes going to puke

  • ray mears is cool!

  • Burning anything and creating smoke is a good way to keep mosquitoes away, but I imagine that this has a larger radius of effect.

  • he is real TARZAN

  • i love how any surviver on tv or youtube says that everything is delicious even if it tastes like crap. which sometimes it literally is

  • @swimtastik77 that's just ray mears, for him everything is fantastic and delicious lol

  • @cekinxxx lol

  • every tip here is better than drinking my own piss.

  • totally of no use to me where i live but whatever hahaha

  • Somebody should tell Africa about this. I mean... C'mon.

  • Chuk Norris just blink his eyes to make a tornado to blown away theses stupids mosquitoes to canada

  • outback mosquitos are spawns of the devil, they bite you non stop and when they bite you know it because they hurt real bad. for all the dangers in the outback the mosquito is merciless.

  • @vsboy25 don't forget the ravenous flesh eating koalas.

  • When you're that close to the fire you won't get bitten any ways.

  • Bear Grylles in this situation :

"In these dead leaves, you can usually find large mussells such as this one. Better drink my own piss"

  • If I am ever trapped in the outback, with no cell phone, no guide, no mates, I'm golden.

  • Ray looks like a caveman:DD

  • can I order that mosquito repellent in Canada? seriously... they r so bad here...

  • @Spirito2008 I suggest u get some of the aussie stuff, its 80% of active ingrediet, think its called Bushman. Its super effective even agains noseeums. I live in Sweden and we got lots of those.

  • Rather useless info unless you live where there are these termites and wallabies.

  • @paisleyyama a place with termites and wallabies... like Australia... where i, and 22 million others live - i wouldnt call that useless information. if anything i would call that un-useless information. i would call THAT information useFUL... not useless.... but useful.... for Australians..... like me............................................useful...

  • @nickidan2000 Well that`s what I was saying unless you live in an area like that the info. is useless. So the title should`ve been "insect repellent for Australians". Most of the world needs insect repellent but this info is useless to most of the world. I watched hoping to get some good advice but I wasted my time b/c the info was useless to me. But certainly it is very useful to Australians so the title should have stated this.

  • @nickidan2000 especially if the world ends and we get a mad max situation happening, in that case it's extremely useful information.

  • @paisleyyama Maybe but still interesting to some of us

  • PUt YOUR HAND IN A TERMITE MOUND? holy shit no

  • It's funny that Ray shows the mussels, which Rob Bredl (a local Australian wilderness expert) hates as a food ration, even in a survival situation!

  • I'd love to tag along with Ray in these trips for a few years, sort of like a student, to pick up on all this wealth of information. Cause let's face it, this is good knowledge to have stored away in your brain.

  • ...of useful applications! Need a quick and easy way to remove excess body hair? Rub it on, wait twelve minutes, then rinse clean with your favourite depilatory. It's great as a leather pollish, and you can even use it to repair that hole in your patent leather thighhighs! Need to relax? Put this in your pipe and smoke it! Emergency lubricant?! Got ya "covered", you kinky basterds! It even burns through a cement block, but melts a tomato with ease! So why wait?! Order today!

  • @SpookyJohnathan I hope you're as good at foraging for food as you are at typing pretentiously long YouTube argument rebuttals. Otherwise you just wasted a lot of calories with your fingers.

  • @antagonist42 I am. So you gonna buy a bottle or what, my aptly named and not at all pretentious friend?

  • @SpookyJohnathan If it is of better quality than your thesaurus, I will.

  • @antagonist42 Heheh...yet another cross-eyed chump signing away their soul. Anyone else want to agree to a legally binding verbal agreement to buy a bottle of Ol' S& J?

  • @SpookyJohnathan Wait, wait ... my mama said that if it seems too good to be true it probably is. So what does "S&J" stand for?

... Ah, never mind. This seems legit.

  • ...survival situations! But what if you're out and about but all alone with no one to talk to? Maybe you want to attract those insects for some company instead of repel them? Fret not! With one application of Ol' S & J's Authentic SnakeOyl, you'll repel them, but with a second application, voila! It also attracts them! That's right, the only SnakeOyl product scientifically formulated to be chemically refined enough to both repel -and- attract mosquitos! In fact there's a veritable smorgasbord...

  • ...protection, settle for nothing less than Ol' S & J's Authentic SnakeOyl! That's right, ladies and gentlemen, the only authentic SnakeOyl product approved by the people who make and sell it, chosen by nine out of ten Witchdoctors/Quacks/Federal Judges to treat every ailment from constipation, to crabs, to chronic constipation caused by the crab dinner at Trader Joe's, is now, thanks to a loophole in international law, available for use as an insect repelent in everyday or self reliance and...

  • The best overall mosquito bite protection available today is, without rival, the MosquitoPatch. MosquitoPatch provides effective protection from mosquito bites and diseases. It is 100% safe, there are no harmful side effects associated with using MosquitoPatch and the easy use of MosquitoPatch is a huge bonus; it is personal, portable, neat, and discreet.

  • @mosquitopatch253 Yeah, but I hear it's made of babies. A nasty, nasty rumor, but even if it isn't true, I also hear that the folks who make MosquitoPatch use shitty marketing techniques like spamming youtube and generally pissing people off to generate hype for their product. Word to the wise; nothing ever sold by "bot trollin' teh forumz" ever saved anyone's life, and only in a few documented cases has a product sold this way been more than snake oil. On that note, if you want real mosquito...

  • hahaha what if he hit the termite mount and a ton of red ants poured out...

  • @go4hydro

He'd be in sorry shape if he couldn't tell the diff between a termite mound and ant mound...

  • @CanItAlready hahaha it would be the season fanale

  • dirty kangaroo eater..

  • How are u going to free yourself from JAWS of recession? Well the solution lies in finding the solvers; These recessions are man made and designed to push more in debt and make u more subordinate to Zionist systems and push u getting recruits into army so they can fulfill their quota?

    u don't care then part of the solution is to make u care and if u let it go on then the same situation that u see in Iraq and Afghanistan is awaiting u;

  • I hope your boots are waterproof. Don't want to get trench foot!

  • @utubeworms

Waterproof boots can cause trenchfoot as well by keeping moisture from your feet in. Jungle boots are often best, as they let a lot of the moisture out immediately.

  • @utubeworms actually waterproof boots are very good at keeping water in aswell, wich gives you trench foot. rather have light boots wich drain easily and dry up quick.

  • @utubeworms trench foot is something different mate, this was an infection of the feet caused by cold, wet and insanitary conditions. At this situation it would be emergent foot.

  • Has Ray Mears ever got Parasites??

  • @hydrobot2003 that is highly likely...pretty much everyone gets parasites or infections of some kind spending that much time in the jungles

  • @GetYourAlbatros no havent seen them for a year now ._.

  • esquisitly painful, laughed my ass off

  • I thought it was funny when he bit into it haha

  • bull shit or cow shit on the coals

  • i am tired of this advert now

  • I heard that rubbing wet tobacco in your skin is also a good mosquito repellent. Have you tried that?

  • ive heard if you eat marmite they dont like to bite you.

and i dont get bit so :P

  • I want to see Ray Mears and Bear Grills duke it out.

  • @buyerofsorts

I reject your racist evil, in the name of God.

  • hes so bad ass he just puts his hands into the water and pulls out a mollusk. simply bad ass

  • Had the pleasure to shake rays hand, a real gent!

  • Bear Grylls is not a survival expert!.....he's a fake..

  • That Termite mounds fucking stink though.

    shit is horrible

  • You are a good teacher Ray... but not good survivor. You need more than just knowlage to survive.

  • @Survivorguy74800 Can you explain what you meant by that? I'm not arguing with you. I'm really curious as to what you're point is. Again, not being sarcastic, just genuinly wondering.

  • @buyerofsorts If you wanna be survivor you need an iron strong tough body. A body wich can survive winter swims, long climbs, long swims, things like that. Its important just like the knowlage. You dont get far if you only got tough body, or only got big knowlage. You need both of them.

  • @Survivorguy74800 Oh Ok. I see. Thanks for the reply.

  • @buyerofsorts :) But ofcourse if someone just wanna spent a few days in a shelter, than just the knowlage is enough.

Watch my own survivor videos :D :D

  • @Survivorguy74800 Ok, I'll check em out. Thanks.

  • @Survivorguy74800 Ah... Was that you on that little raft that sunk? Gotta tell you that I'm not impressed thus far. I'll keep watching though.

  • @buyerofsorts Yeah im not gonna be famous because of those videos haha.... but you know i dont have opportuniti to make better :D And...... but they are better the nothing and im think serius this survival stuff. What i do in those videos its more like playing with nature and not surviving i know :)

  • @Survivorguy74800 Better than nothing? Perhaps but thank God theres more than nothing to choose from on youtube! lol

  • @Survivorguy74800 Ok I watched another one and its official. You're lame. lol.

  • 0:35 its delicious lol

  • At least he know how to eat. Bear Grylls is just a savage xD

  • Ray Mears is GOD

  • oh great, if i'm ever in australia, now i know how to block mosquitos....WHAT ABOUT AMERICA?

  • @bigleroygym Oh They are much harder to block. You need all sorts of things, some of which are illegal. I wouldn't suggest you try - just let them bight you and get over it.

  • @fulaingt Let them BITE you and you can get malaria, west nile and a bunch of other fun diseases.

  • @bigleroygym Deep woods OFF (spray)

  • @bigleroygym ITS CALLED RAY MEARS EXTREME SURVIVAL! I'll let you think that through for a bit.

  • guys a noob, proly cant survie in his backyard..

  • @AGG101 you've never watched Ray Mears then?

  • @AGG101, you're clueless

  • @AGG101 Maybe you should watch Ray Mears videos in different parts of the world and different situations before you comment because this guy is the shit. What you're saying is like saying Bill Gates doesn't know how to turn a computer on. If I were stuck somewhere there's nobody I'd want with me more than Ray Mears.

  • @Dave54600 Like Bill Gates not knowing how to turn on a computer!? Ha! Thats a good analogy. And I agree with you, Ray is the shit! An awesome show!

  • aaaand what do you use on other continents?

  • I bet he spat it all out right after the camera turned ! lol

  • I wonder how he deals with hookworms and other parasites in the food he eats... No cooking them is not fool proof.

  • We learned to find and eat palm hearts while in florida. they are quite good.

  • Eat a garlic tooth.. Best repellent ever!

  • Will pay 5 pounds into your paypal account if you can id this jungle toon

  • never trust a skinny chef....Ray, if you can eat that well in the woods, my trust lies completely with you my friend :)

  • Does anyone know the name of this tune that kicks in at (1.12 sec) really like it.

please message me if you can id it.

  • What would you use if you were in northern wisconsin? termite mounds are rare round here. Any special leaves or bushes that would ward off the little vampires?

  • @ydnarnosfatsug

    You got any lemon balm?

    Take a bath in it.

Skeeters don't much care for it.

    Consume garlic.

This also seems to keep them away.

  • @ziggy2sound4u Mosquitos might not like it, but wouldn't bears enjoy a meal already marinated and seasoned?

  • @TreksofTrish

    Ha!

The bear has to catch me first(little hard to do, AFTER I shoot him in the face with a 12 gage).

If a bear can't see you or smell you, he can't find you.

Learned that trick in the Pacific Northwest, were fishing with the shotgun, is intelligent.................

  • Comment removed

  • @TreksofTrish There aren't grizzly's or black bears in Australia.

  • Nice bit of low key jungle in the background, very 90s

    I like!

  • He doesn't look like he lives of vegetation and bugs?? DO big macs roam in wilderness and if so how many did he catch and eat for lunch?

  • roflmfao /agree

  • @honisett2002: LOL You're right. He looks plump and urban, not like a survivalist at all.

  • UK Military THE BEST~!

  • lol...whats separating mexico and usa is a fence haha...how is that risking your life..

  • yeah but what enviorment does the Citronella Geranium gorw in ?\

  • austrailia

  • common mosquito repellent is the plant : Citronella Geranium ,Botanical Name: Pelargonium species. also Cybopogon nardus or Citronella winterianus which is the tree which citronella oil is used in candles and repellent . White Hellbore & Ragweed is a toxic deterent to fleas and lice which are in soaps and shampoo's used to rid a person of them .

  • If in america.. find a bush called american beautyberry. and rub it on your skin. smells like citronella

  • ever tried using fart as a repelent?=D it works on my friends

  • @gunzman200 only if you have beans

  • @gunzman200 And i'll guess you still haven't seen them? :P

  • @gunzman200 said "ever tried using fart as a repelent?=D it works on my friends"

Except it is the mosquitoes he want to repeal, not his friends.

  • He looks much more formidable with a beard.

  • rofl agreed everything is delicious

  • Another good mosquito repellent involves covering yourself in live, angry termites.

    No worries mate!

  • or keep mosquito hawks as pets . then your good to go .

  • dumb idea

  • ok, I see he's smart enough to get some grub, but uhhh whats up with the bug repellent in the name? or was that in the wasted time of an advertisement I muted out?!?

  • Maybe you werent listening, but he said that the smoke from the termite mound acted as an effective mosquito deterrent.

  • k, I missed that one. But then again I may have heard & overlooked because I was maybe expecting something others know as a common thing. Smoke period work as a good deterrent to not only mosquito, but 98% of other pest. Flys, gnats, etc. Maybe something like Marigold juice from the flower is good for mosquito too. But maybe more commonly found then Marigolds. Can't carry smoke with you ya know.

  • I mean something other then what most know as a common thing. sorry for the misleading sentence...

  • Mosqutos!? Ha! they are pussies, try the highland (thats Scotland) midge, the kick a mosquitos ass, indestructible, drive you frikin crazy, nuthin' keeps them away, eat Ray Mears for breakfast, and Bear Grills for dinner and still be able to snack on half a dozen English tourists...

  • Now THAT'S funny!!! hahaha.

  • Before Bare Grills, and ServivorMan there was Ray Mears.

  • @dthelonelyone Before god there was ray mears

  • @dthelonelyone you mean bear thrills, because thats all he is

    entertainment

  • @dthelonelyone ... I would think that Ray taught Bear Grylls everything he knows... Survivor man is more realistic for the average person not used to the wilderness.

  • @dthelonelyone Bear*

  • Great video but what do you do if you´re in the US?

  • What I have heard is that burning cow or horse dung will work. A survivalist on TV here in the USA showed that. Never tried it, though. For me, I use carrot oil, which you can pick up at the store before going. I imagine other burned plant root vapors may be found that are good deterrents with experimentation.

  • Thanks for the info.

  • you dial a cab!

    boyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Hmmm seems like Ray Mears is really good at finding food hahaha :D

  • and can you cook a small animal like a rabbit/squirrel with a decent cigarette lighter alone?

  • Yes I could I've doone it. Squirrels nice too.

  • well im on a low carb, low fat, no bread, high protein, and lots of green vegetables diet. WHAT DO I DO NOW

  • Comment removed

  • Wat if I dont have termite mounds where I live??? haha jk

  • lol

  • That mussel was a magic trick

  • This guy is awesome! I always watch his program!

  • better than bear grylls?

  • They both are awesome!

  • I agree!

  • booga booga booga

  • I love how he just says "it's delicious" after anything he eats. Fruit, root, goo, grub "It's delicious."

  • Had you ever lived in England, the land of bland food and crappy restaurants, you'll know that just about anything with taste is delicious and well appreciated.

  • england? crappy food? i don't live there but i was there once and the food was great!!

  • If you found English food to be delicious, obviously you haven't been to New York City, Hong Kong or Tokyo.

Compared to most places these cities will blow you taste buds.

I thought I would starve when I was living in the American mid west.

  • i go to new york 4 times a year with my cousins, and i have tasted chinese and japanese food. they all taste good

  • AMERICAN PIGS

  • im american andi really hate all you people that make dumbass hateful comments about us.....most of you guys dont even LIVE here so you have no idea what its LIKE in the first place, btw, if america is so bad, why do we have people from china, mexico and various other countries risking their LIVES to get here and LIVE here? its obvious that some people in other countries have the right idea about America, its not a bad place, theres far worse countries to live in....

  • U hurt the feeling of the "people from china, mexico and various other countries" too. U dumbass.

  • how r they riskin their lives? dude they're saving their lives by living there... u dumbass......

  • @gummybears54

And every time he sees something mildly impressive he says FANTASTIC!

  • @gummybears54 my mom says mmmmmmmmmm even b4 trying food sometimes lmfao

  • @gummybears54

I've noticed that he often shows the more palatable items to come across in the wilderness. You would be surprised how "delicious" these things are, compared to some of the more rustic foods that will keep you alive. Some of them are putrid in flavour and therefore very hard to eat.

  • Mosquito bites being painful?

  • its the disease that i'd be scared of

  • hey where abouts is he is Asutalia

  • yeah that'd be great

  • wait does smearing yourself in mud work too???

  • hahah, try it. if that doesn't work, try rubbing cow dung or tree sap all over yourself.

  • i bet there are trees with sap that stings even more then mosquitos over there :D

  • hmmm not quite something i can use here at home in belgium

  • can i buy some of that termite stuff to work on the mosquitos in the u.s?

  • from ant, box jellyfish to spiders snakes and now termites, everything that bites and stings in and around australia apparently is extraordinarily painful or toxic

  • lol its the only deterrant to me moving there too
