Sure is a lot of people that learned how to play church, like Danny says.....Danny is a great tenor singer, and I don't believe for a minute that there is any jealousy between him and Ernie....They are both great, just different styles....I hate to see the bashing go on, it is all about the love of the Lord, it always should be.

Why do so many people try to compare Danny and Ernie? They were and still are great tenopr singers. God blessed them both with great voices. I don't believe God compares them so I'm not gonna do it.

@pookieumbears40 -Yes Danny is much better, my understanding is that is why Ernie will not perform any longer when they have Cathederal reunions. This year at Quartet Convention they had a reunion and he didn't make an appearance, he is George Younce son-in-law and wouldn't even appear. They say he will not sing with Danny, think he might be jealous?

Danny was their best tenor--bar none. Ernie can't hold a candle to Danny.

That's quite a statement. They are both tremendous but musically Ernie is superior. The timbre of Ernies voice is far more pleasing. While Danny certainly has plenty of high notes, his voice has a whiny quality that sounds at times like an unhappy middleaged woman. His voice lacks the richness and beauty of Ernie's. Simply put, Ernie sounds like a man singing tenor. Danny does not. Maybe in his prime, Danny had a few more high notes than Ernie but I have never heard Ernie struggle.

When you have heard these guys, your have heard the best! I was able to see them several times over the years, and this same group of guys! There will never be another group like them! Praise the Lord!

Amen. This version of the group was the best to me for many reasons. The biggest is because Danny and Gerald are obviously anointed and both put glorifying God before anything else. Musician's and singers who truly play and sing for God are a powerful force for God's work.
