The music of Lyman Woodard Organization lives on in Detroit through rare but treasured performances and recordings by Lyman Woodard Organization Orchestra (one of which is coming up in Detroit on December 6, 2011). The group includes Leonard King and Ron English, who are featured on this recording. You can find their fan page on Facebook.
Man ....this is the truth...just listening & doing a lil LIFE work...& this blowing in the backdrop...what ...I thought that was a flute playing..electric piano..synthesizer.Mellotron..electric bass..handclaps...what.....they is doing it
Lyman Woodard-Wurlitzer electric piano, synthesizer, & Mellotron; Ron English-electric bass; Leonard King-drums; handclaps from the band members. The original fidelity at the initial sessions for this recording were improved over the final product--just a couple of margins better. However, I, the drummer on this session, still view it as a valid product, and it still amazes me almost 40 years later that newer generations love this record. Thank you very much!!
Saturday night specials were cheap hand guns sold dirt cheap, usually so someone could go kill someone else in an argument.. that's why they WERE outlawed till the fucking pukes made every night a saturday night... lost nation kids.
Matter of fact it has...It was sampled by MF DOOM for his second Viktor Vaughn album Venomous Villan between 3:13-3:17 I think its track 1 on the disc.
Love the hand claps.

Sorry to here he has passed. My friends and I would go and see him at Cass back in the late 70's. Many good times there.
