pour éclaircir l'affaire , c'est un roi français (je ne me rapelle plus son nom entier mais je sui presque sur qu'il y a Philippe pour ce que ça interesse) qui est devenu "il y a bien logtemps" roi d'angleterre . et comme cétait un tetu , il a imposé plus de la moitié du vocabulaire français au anglais , c'est pour ça qu'il y a beaucoup de mots transparent ou d'origine commune ( ex : chaise /chair ) . Spanish pronunciation is far more apart from the French one, than from the English one. I am mexican. and I thought English phonemes were difficult, but they are a piece of cake compared to the frenchie´s. Spaniards, Italians and Greeks have a compatible phonetic system among themselves and along all their dialects. Portugese is a kind of different though still close enough. But the french ! Don't worry about your R people. It's difficult for everyone ; it's because the french R is produced somewhere inside the throat and the Spanish/ English R is by using teeth and tongue.
